  1. I agree. That is who Allen is and it’s how he’s going to have the most success. Let him run. Let him extend plays to throw. Build around that while he works on passing from the pocket in rhythm.
  2. Oh. I see. It’s the money they make (although not really special teams players). That’s a sad, small mentality.
  3. I’m pretty sure a 4th and 15 is football. Why disregard safety? Do you advocate disregarding safety precautions in other industries?
  4. You can remove those quotes. The new KO rules have actually made that play safer. So you got a better idea?
  5. The onside kick has become the worst play in the NFL. I’m on board with the newly proposed rule. Safer and more exciting.
  6. That would certainly be okay for a guy we can depend on to keep Allen upright. From what I see he’s always done well in pass pro but has been up and down as a run blocker. Possibly due to scheme. Do you think he fits with the current scheme?
  7. Oh sorry. I just was pointing out to people why he only made $1.9M last season. That it was due to the tender offer he got as a RFA, not a market value UFA contract.
  8. Any thoughts on what his contract would be? I’ll take a stab: 4 years, $20M or thereabouts. Easy exit after 2 years. Thoughts?
  9. It was his year 4 restricted free agent tender contract. No bearing on his next deal.
  10. I agree with that. 5th year options are only guaranteed for injury so it can be taken off of the table if he regresses.
  11. How many pages would this thread be if we were talking about a guy named Chad Losman?
  12. https://www.rotoworld.com/article/draft-analysis/nfl-draft-needs-bills Not earth shattering, but worth a look at this slow time.
  13. That’s ridiculous. AB went 195th. We’re talking about the 9th pick. You can take a chance on a flawed player in later rounds - after all that‘s all that’s there anyway. Most don’t work out, but - rarely - you find an AB or Tom Brady. But why pretend it’s the same thing? And speaking of pretending, amking only one comparison and having that be to one of the absolute best WRs ever, Megatron, is pretty bad. Yes, they’re both physical freaks and likely would be used similarly, but some additional comparisons to players that didn’t put it all together would have been more “intelligent“. Including comparisons to players that had Metcalf’s known issues of drops, lack of college production and injury would have been more accurate. After all, Megatron didn’t have those red flags. Metcalf’s potentially serious neck injury isn’t even mentioned in the clip. I’m not even saying no to Metcalf. He obviously has some elite traits - speed, size and strength - to the table, but whomever drafts him needs to know the risks - hands, injury and change of direction issues. I don’t see it at 9 because I think there will be impact players without those red flags and risks, but I won’t deny his ceiling.
  14. Roster bonus due. I just don’t want to have to play him. Even if we burn him I don’t want his obligatory cheap shot to injure one of our players. Hope he gets retired by lack of interest or winds up in the NFC.
  15. Exactly. Why would we extend him? That would eliminate any comp pick we could get for him. It also would not net us anything. It would move some of his cap hit to next season, but that wouldn’t help us at all. We aren’t up against the cap so we’d save space this season only to carry it forward into next season where we could have just left it.
  16. Thats a pretty good call. Could certainly be time to chase that second ring. You're embarrassing yourself, Rib. 6 Pro Bowls, 1 first team All Pro, 2 second team All Pro selections and 1 DPOY.
  17. I haven’t been high in the Bills the last several seasons and I’m not totally sold on Allen yet, but I think they’ll be improved. I expect them to get a Wildcard playoff spot this season and I hope Allen proves himself too.
  18. $78M earned over 10 years in the NFL, plus what he made from commercials and endorsements. He made $11.4M last season, which was robbery. I can’t see him taking a properly valued contract for what he is at this point - a situational pass rusher. Maybe he’d do one if the incentives were high enough, but that’s not going to be good for anyone. He should call it a career. I’m sure he’d wind up doing something football related if he wants.
  19. Every GM says they value character, but most don't always walk that talk. Beane was ready to trade for Antonio Brown. He's about as big of a character problem as you can find in the NFL.
  20. This is a useful way to look at the roster moving forward. You can see all players in each position group, cap hits for each year and status at end of contract. It shows aggregates for each group and then individuals if you scroll down. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/yearly/cap/
  21. The Phins are tanking for sure. I, for one, hope they succeed at that - and then totally botch their rebuild.
