  1. It happens with every fan base. I was at a bar watching the Browns v. Bills in 2013 and watched Bills fans cheer Hoyer’s injury. They were pretty pissed off when Manuel got injured though.
  2. Seahawks and Steelers at 2 & 3 despite the neon green color rush and worst throwback unis in the league? Ugh. Miami at 12 despite them slowly evolving a helmet logo that looks less and less like a dolphin and more and more like a penis with every update? Plus the teal. Bah! They did get a lot right, but the XFL Jets at 14 above the Bills at 16? No way. That’s wrong and I will die on that hill.
  3. I agree. Obviously the uncertainty is the problem and that’s why I don’t see the Bills making such a move. This seems like the kind of move that could happen as early as next year though, depending on the development of Allen and the team in general. If Allen proves himself and the team looks like it’s close, then I expect a push to try to put us over the top. If not, then we are going to need those picks.
  4. The problem with Ford is that he’s not a very good run defender. That and the scheme change are why KC paid to swap him out for Clark.
  5. I agree. I’d look at the Frank Clark trade too: Seattle got a 1st (#29 in 2019), a 2nd (2020) and a swap of 3rds (#84 for #92) from KC. Plus Clark got a 5 year, $105.5M contract. I’d expect Clowney’s contract and the draft value to be similar. I don’t see the Bills making a trade like this at this time, but if they did I think it would be their first that we get it done.
  6. Would it gross you out as much (or st all) if she was hot?
  7. True, but if Eli starts our DBs wouldn’t have to ever run more than 20 yards downfield. They’d be rested up for week 3.
  8. I can’t speak to the homelessness issue, but Chicago’s total metro area population is about 50% larger than Toronto’s. 9.5M to about 6.2M.
  9. https://www.thefantasyfootballers.com/articles/reception-perception-zay-jones-years-confusing-wr-prospect/ This article is an excellent, in depth predraft analysis of Zay. Here is the concluding paragraph: The safest bet appears to be that Jones settles into a high-volume but low-ceiling slot and flanker hybrid role when he hits the next level. Yes, he can win on those short to intermediate routes while sifting through zone coverage, and there is certainly value in a player like that, but Reception Perception gave us plenty of reason to question what is available beyond that. The biggest concern that I see now is that he does extremely well as a slot receiver on short and intermediate routes (although with a poor YAC), but not much else. That seems to be exactly the opposite of what Allen is good at so I wonder what place he has here long term. Sadly, he seems to be an excellent fit in NE and I could see him going there and being very successful.
  10. Would think in that case Zay would still trail Allen in the breakout player race.
  11. I can see that angle, but I don’t think the added risk of doing the deal a year ahead of time was worth it. It’s probable that the contract isn’t quite as guaranteed as initial reports though. I should really wait and see that before making a final judgement on it all.
  12. He can have one of mine. I really think Philly jumped the gun here. I am less of a Wentz fan than most, but even putting that aside there was plenty of time to do a deal like this. It’s not like he gave a big discount. He was in the last year of his rookie deal and lined up for a season to prove he could stay healthy and show what HE could do in the playoffs. Now they’re stuck with him regardless of further injury or faltering on the big stage. Usually I’d say that this was a move by a GM who had his wagon hitched to this QB and would be out anyway if that QB failed. But that’s not even the case here. It’s odd.
  13. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2839212-2nd-year-nfl-players-positioned-for-breakout-seasons#slide9 Bleacher Report article lists Allen and Wallace among top 10 second year players positioned for a breakout season. Nice props from (gasp!) the national media.
  14. Between your post and user name you have two of my top 10 favorite movies referenced. Awesome
  15. This is a common misconception. The “zipper merge” is the most efficient and preferred way to handle a lane closure. The people who drive up to the closure point are the ones doing it right. People like you are the ones slowing traffic up. https://auto.howstuffworks.com/traffic-lane-zipper-merge.htm
  16. Williams would be a great addition, but I don't think Washington trades him.
  17. As I said in my previous post, I think he ran himself out of options. He had a bunch of suitors when he disrespected the Bills. I’m not sure why he chose the Raiders (as I also said previously), but I am sure that the contract played a major part. But I’d bet that the Bills would’ve paid him that too if the trade compensation was in the realm of what the Raiders gave up.
  18. No. I said as much in the post you quoted. I think AB is an idiot. He was an absolute tool to the Bills and if he had been either a decent or smart person, then he’d have handled the situation discretely. I also think he ran himself out of options. As for the Bills, what were they supposed to do at that point? Not really much to be done except what they did do - publicly say they weren’t interested anymore and tell everyone it was because of AB’s contract demands. That way they couldn’t be used as leverage. It’s not like they did anything wrong (except pursue AB in the first place).
  19. Sorry, I still don’t buy that at all. The Bills side of the story came out well after Brown’s side, which was: Rosenhaus tells Brown on the audio of the phone call: “Like when the Bills called me today, and they said if we make the trade what are you guys looking for? And I wouldn’t even give them a number because I know you’d rather not go there.” “Yeah, don’t even waste time,” Brown replied. “I really want you to have a good quarterback and to be in a ... winning environment, man,” Rosenhaus tells his client. https://buffalonews.com/2019/03/26/antonio-brown-buffalo-bills-trade-nfl-pittsburgh-steelers-boomin-experience-podcast/ That the contract on top of the picks was too much in total was a reasonable, face-saving story by the Bills, but that’s all it was because it doesn’t make any sense. $11.2M over 3 years is the difference we are talking about here, right? $3.7M/season is not that much money. Also it makes no sense that the draft compensation would not have been negotiated down to closer to what the Raiders paid if the Bills had balked at the combination. Hell, why wasn’t that even discussed? Why did we just walk away? Why wouldn’t we have made some sort of counter to the Steelers? Sorry, Brown’s story makes sense and came out before he even made a decision about where to play. The Bills story just doesn’t make sense. The funny thing is that Brown has to play with Carr on a poor team. But maybe he just wanted to move to Las Vegas and get paid or play for a perennial winner and get paid. I don’t know. But he sure didn’t want to play here with Allen - even if that choice was a big mistake. Lastly, let me just reiterate that I’m glad he’s not here. The Bills dodged a bullet IMO, but they did disappoint me by even trying to trade for him.
  20. Emphatically yes. On all counts. The only "issues" in Cleveland thus far are that OBJ only showed for one of the voluntary OTA practices and that the third string RB wants traded. Incidentally he was the only other player not at OTAs. As for FAs that came to a team because of the QB there it's worth noting that OBJ came to Cleveland in large part because of Mayfield while Allen certainly wasn't enough to make Antonio Brown want to come to Buffalo. There's a lot to like about what is happening here in Buffalo - and I get the optimism - but there is real potential in places other than here. Also let's be real, the Browns and Bills both added a lot of talent this off-season. So have other teams. None of them know how well they will mesh. It's a bit much to see some people assume the best here and the worst elsewhere, especially when they obviously haven't even bothered to do their homework on the other teams and have a selective memory with the Bills.
  21. I’m sure the Bills support Kelly’s charities and treat him well when he comes around. In turn, I’ll bet he makes himself available to the Bills for rubbing elbows with the right people and some PR stuff. That’s a fair deal for both sides and it keeps their businesses separate, which is best for everyone.
  22. I meant in the draft. I remember that Leroi has posted the day before the draft that the Bills had a deal with the Browns worked out to get Watkins. I was hoping he was wrong and it was in place, but for Watkins. He would’ve been the biggest (current) star in Buffalo. You’ve got a right to be pissed.
