  1. Yeah. Ngakoe gets paid to play football, Khan gets paid to run a football team. Ngakoe has nothing to lose by getting into a Twitter pissing match, Khan does. He loses face simply by engaging at all. It’s his job to be smarter than that. You know, my first thought when I saw the Ngakoe Tweet was “where is his agent and why isn’t he telling him to stop?” I can only think of two good reasons: 1) the agent is afraid to lose his client and is keeping quiet or he did say something to Ngakoe and he didn’t listen, or 2) it’s intentional and coordinated with the agent’s involvement with the aim of further poisoning the relationship and thus forcing a trade. Number 2 kinda makes sense seeing as how it’s right before the draft.
  2. I love that Kevin Klein won an Oscar (Best Supporting Actor) for Otto. It is, in fact, his only one. I looked that up to see if he’d won another and saw that he and Phoebe Cates married in 1989 and are still together. Interesting couple. To continue that tangent, my favorite Oscar winner for Best Supporting Actress is Marisa Tomei for My Cousin Vinny. It is also her only one.
  3. Seems like the Jest would have to sweeten that. Adams is an excellent box safety, but he’s still a box safety. Ngakoue is a stud edge player and that’s worth way more.
  4. Yup. Not easy to run NFL legal screens when teams are playing the QB run/scramble/RPO.
  5. Did you guys watch game film of Okwara? I have not. Just a few scUM games during the season and I wasn’t focusing on him. I just went by what I’ve read on him. If you have, what’d you see?
  6. Voted Okwara, but think Bryce Hall (CB) might be the better pick in this case. Other than his omission there are good names to chose from. Edit: Just saw that names were pared down. He might’ve been one that was.
  7. And it’s worth noting that Allen has progressed in a situation that was as bad as or worse than the others. The Bills have improved his supporting cast dramatically and it is in a great spot now, but it was really poor in his rookie season - especially the OL.
  8. I always have thought that EJ was way over drafted. The expectations associated with that was what led to him starting so soon (injury to Kolb aside). He had tools, but was very underdeveloped as a QB coming into the league. He had a lot of bad habits. I think it was his second season, he started out looking like he’d kicked most of them. That was the only point where I was really encouraged. Then things got shaky around him and he reverted back to those bad habits and it was over. If he’d have been taken in the second or third round and been given a couple seasons to establish good habits and learn the game he might have been a good pro QB. He had the physical talent to do so.
  9. I have a Tempur-Pedic mattress and I’ll never use a coil again. We swapped out the kids and guest room mattresses for medium density foam ones from Wayfair (their house brand). They aren’t quite as nice as the Tempur-Pedic mattress but they are a big step up from their old coil ones (which were old but expensive). Both kids barely moved off of them for a month. I’m sure we paid no more in total for the three of them ($300+ each) than we did for ours ($1k+) so there’s that factor too. I’m sure the adjustable ones are great too. The nice thing about ours was that we could really dial it in to exactly what we liked. The one issue we had with the Wayfair ones is that one didn’t fully expand to shape. They just sent us another one for free. I kept it around and in a month it finished expanding (usually takes a day at most). I didn’t have a use for it at that point so I gave it to a friend who loves it.
  10. Deshaun Watson. Didn’t think his style would translate well and that he’d be injury prone.
  11. The team largely chose to go the veteran route on the DL (Oliver aside). And that’s expensive - especially with starting DEs at the tail end of their contracts. Murphy has one last season here and Hughes two. And don’t get me started on Star’s contract. I’ve hated that since day 1, but at least he took a cut this season. It would make sense to see a youth movement soon, but this is a poor year for that IMO. This is just not a good draft to find that complete, difference making 4-3 DE (unless you’re Washington). I suspect that Addison got paid so much this offseason because of that. Scarcity drives up prices. He gives the team some flexibility too. He could spend a couple seasons dropping down for a DE who is mostly an edge setter. Not as optimal as having a complete DE, but certainly workable if that’s how it goes in 2021.
  12. Yeah, this is always the rub when people rate draft results too. Do you include players like Diggs where picks were used to trade for him? What about picks given up to get a player in another year? Or picks added to other years? Sure, the Bills don’t have much draft capital left for next weekend, but Diggs is a huge addition and overlooking him doesn’t seem right either.
  13. At present, yes. There are some teams where I just have to give the player the benefit of doubt in situations like this. The Jest are definitely one of them. The way they did Kelechi Osemele sealed that for me.
  14. One thing to add. With even fanless games there will need to be travel for away teams, officials and network personnel. Then there’s everything that goes along with travel - hotels, eating catered or restaurant meals, etc, etc. Not an insurmountable hurdle by any stretch, but it’s one that that they’ll need to get over.
  15. Most of it, but they still have picks 97, 151, 187 and 244.
  16. The Browns extended Tretter late last season so they’re good at center. LB squad is weak/unproven. That’s the big remaining need. A FA player like Bradham makes sense. They just brought in two safeties on 1 year deals so that’s a need looking beyond this season. I expect one to get extended and one to be replaced. Vernon will need replaced after this season too so a LDE is a need in 2021 too. CB was also a need IMO. Best case was Greedy Williams blossoming and Ward staying healthy and finding a starting slot CB. But if Ward has more concussions or Greedy doesn’t step up, then they’d be shot - especially playing so much man coverage. Now they can weather issues with Ward Or Greedy or be very strong 3 deep.
  17. Already traded a 3rd and a 4th for Trent Williams. LT was buttoned up.
  18. Thanks. Yes, you can add Simmons to the list. He is right there and definitely my #4 overall.
  19. I have Okudah rated as one of the 3 elite talents in this draft along with Young and Burrow. Concerns over Ward’s concussions and the possibility of pairing them together drove this move. Obviously it wouldn’t have happened without the Trent Williams trade to nail down LT.
  20. Trade Alert Browns send picks 10 and 41 to the Chargers for picks 6 and 151. With the 6th pick they select Jeff Okudah, CB Ohio State
  21. If I’m reading the rules correctly since the LAC have a pick worth 1600 points they’d need to get a value of 1760 back to have the trade approved. Is that correct?
  22. I’m not a Haskins fan at all (and I’m a lifelong Buckeyes fan). Tua to Washington makes a lot of sense to me. Get your QB.
  23. Looking for some DL or CB help no doubt. I can see them moving up with Cleveland if there isn’t an OT the Browns like there.
  24. Nope. No changes to tags. Tre is smart to wait. He’s gonna get paid large. By the Bills.
  25. It’s a terrible draft to find a starting 4-3 DE, unless you are Washington.
