Or he’ll find his way to the booth and we’ll get to watch him all the time

I can only sit here and imagine him having the game of his life against us.

Thank you for all you do here!

Lmao, Tyrod’s gonna start another football game ?
BarleyNY replied to Teddy KGB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gunner said it well here. It was not a slight toward Tyrod and I’m not sure how anyone took it that way. -

Marshawn Lynch. It would either be hilarious and I’d have the best time of my life, I’d wind up in jail or it’d be a nothingburger. -

Some weren’t even good enough to be bridge QBs. -
A "Wildcat Strike" By The NFLPA Coming?
BarleyNY replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You don’t think that NFL broadcasting contracts actually require that games be played? I do not think that I’m going out on a limb when I say that there’s a clause to that effect. Also do you think that networks pay up front for all of the games in a season? No games, no payment to the NFL from DirectTV. They’d have no reason not to provide a refund to customers (less a modest transaction fee maybe). -

Really? I’m pretty sure he’s figured it out by now. -
A "Wildcat Strike" By The NFLPA Coming?
BarleyNY replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m guessing that people who paid for NFL Sunday Ticket would get a full or pro-rated refund probably without a lawsuit. -
Guess it depends on Singletary’s health and how Moss comes along. I’d think that the rookie would have to earn his playing time. That said, if Moss shows well then I can see him taking touches away from Singletary. Devin is a very good, tough runner, but I don’t love what he brings to the passing game or pass pro. That leaves the door open for Moss.

That’s Taylor’s niche. He’s a modestly compensated (by NFL standards), bridge QB. I tip my hat to him for making a fine living by doing that. The only issue with him here was that most Bills fans convinced themselves that he was more than that when the team ignored the need at QB and kept trotting him out as the starter. Then they got pissy when he didn’t live up to that hype.- 289 replies

Bengals sign RB Joe Mixon to 4yr 48 million extension
BarleyNY replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My argument is much more about the RB position and specifically RBs who aren’t big receiving threats. Financially the big premium paid for RBs like Mixon just isn’t close to worth it IMO. Teams would be better served spending that money elsewhere. -

BarleyNY replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am almost never a fan of paying RBs. Mixon is a good back, but I’m with you on this. I don’t see him as close to the 5th (total contract value) or 6th (AAV) best back in the league though. Bengals gotta Bengal I guess. -
Is anyone else less invested in this season than normal?
BarleyNY replied to Cal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Truth. If there are also NFL games on Saturday my NFL consumption will actually increase. It’s really the only sport I watch and there won’t be any/as much college to watch. -
That’s correct. The Jags have little chance to win though. Their claim is that his one game suspension from his fight with Shaq Lawson voided the guarantees in his contract. That isn’t likely to fly. Notably when Fournette won a previous grievance stemming from a fine by the Jags the NFL offices noted that over 25% of league grievances were filed against the Jags. They don’t have a good track record there.

Another foot injury for Tyler Kroft
BarleyNY replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Kroft signing, contract and continued existence on the Bills roster is mind boggling. Beane (and McD) have done well overall and I like most of what they’ve done, but Kroft and a few other moves/decisions have been predictably terrible. -
Gilliam now listed at TE on roster
BarleyNY replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, he did play as an H back in college so listing him as a TE makes as much sense as a FB. Guessing he’ll be an H back here too. -
Beane / Farwell Scouting Prowess: Bass vs. Rohrwasser
BarleyNY replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sixth and seventh round picks are basically worthless. They are nice for fliers on talented players with horrible injuries, raw small school talents or for trading. They can acquire a player that a team is looking to dump or sweeten a trade to make it look better for a team getting rid of a quality talent (ooh, we got three picks for X). But they’re easily acquired and generally get used for priority UDFA level players. So I’ll never gripe if one is used on a K, P or even a LS. Both teams took a shot at one. NBD -
Duke should definitely be part of the WR's this year
BarleyNY replied to LB48's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with you (except I don’t think he even makes the PS). To date Duke has not distinguished himself in any way. The pool of potential NFL WRs who are at or exceed the minimum physical abilities to play in the league is incredibly deep. The ones that stay are the few that figure out the game and can separate themselves from those at the bottom of rosters. I have seen no evidence that Duke has done that - and at 27 he’s not improving much from here on out. There are too many younger (5 years younger) players out there who have abilities and potential that exceed Duke’s. There is zero reason to keep him on this roster or PS this season if he can’t contribute in a very meaningful way right now. -
This makes no sense. Beane hasn’t been here long enough for players he drafted to even be eligible for new or extended contracts.

It’s also how defenses often find success against QBs with accuracy issues. For example, Cam Newton has been at the top of the league in percentage of man coverage versus zone during his career. I’m hoping Allen has improved his mechanics this offseason and is better in that regard. It’ll be huge if he has. I’m really looking forward to seeing Diggs in a Bills uni too, but Allen’s development is what I’m most anxious about.

My biggest question mark is Allen against man coverage. He lit up zones, but often struggled against man. Growth in that area will be paramount if the Bills are to advance past the first round of playoffs this season.
