  1. Changes needed to be made with the IOL and the Bills did that. The OGs are both gone. Our vet OC is staying and will be here to provide stability. Swapping out all three IOL starters would’ve been very risky and I’m glad that was avoided. My main concern with Morse is his concussion history. He was good in that regard the last season though and here’s hoping (for him particularly) that it stays that way. This just feels like the moves they had to make if they were comfortable with Morse’s health.
  2. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/jake-kumerow-17201/ Kumerow’s contract is indeed for the vet minimum of $1.035M. Notably he is eligible for a discounted cap hit so his hit is only on the books for $895k.
  3. He is probably seeing if he can make more on the open market than the Bills offered with the pay cut. It’s a sound strategy for a guy who could sign as a starting RT or even a swing tackle somewhere. This is the thing about asking a player to take a pay cut. You have to be willing to cut them if they say no, or can’t agree on a new figure. This tells me that Morse is almost certainly staying this season. I can’t see the Bills intentionally going with three new starters on the inside.
  4. We have not seen the details yet. I have to think that potential performance bonuses are included in that number. Also there was no mention of what his signing bonus was.
  5. I’m surprised by this. He’s a nice dude and I hope he lights it up for us.
  6. I stopped reading at that point. We absolutely need a #2 CB, but #1 seems set to me even if he isn’t back early in the season.
  7. I am interested to see what Stefanski does with his offense if they continue to add quality to the WR room. It never clicked with Baker and OBJ, but they did try to open it up somewhat. It just didn’t work and people didn’t stay healthy. IMO the Browns have to give Baker all the tools necessary to be successful this season so they can make a decision on him.
  8. He’d be a great fit for the Bills. Exceptional locker room guy who will do whatever it takes on the field to win.
  9. Agreed. They’ll probably restructure Coopers contract too. Might as well kick some of his $20M hit this year down the road.
  10. Nice walk back. That’s far different than what you said in your previous post.
  11. I think that people who view the world in extremes or black and white have a difficult time with the nuanced and complex. As others have mentioned, they needed to make a trade for a WR as no FA WR was heading there without being overpaid even more than Cooper.
  12. The Stefanski offense relay on quality route running. Cooper is a much better fit fin that regard than the freelancing OBJ was. That doesn’t mean it’ll work out in the end, but I think that is the rationale here.
  13. The Browns really don’t have much cap space at the moment. After Njoku signs his tag and before Cooper is considered, they’ll have less than $6M. Landry almost certainly will be released.
  14. The dead cap stays with Dallas. The Browns acquire his salary, which is non-guaranteed at $20M/year.
  15. Literally the only thing preventing me from getting back into the stadium funding discussion (in the existing thread) is that I’m waiting on information from a quality, reliable source. The NY Post obviously does not qualify. I’m not saying that their article is correct or incorrect, just that they have no credibility. That makes it not worth commenting on at this point.
  16. I believe that defensive EPA is calculated as having a negative impact on an opponent’s score and, thus, a positive impact on EPA for their team. Punters would fall into that category.
  17. I appreciate that. Thanks. And I certainly enjoy you and other posters who like to do this sort of thing.
  18. Punters impact field position, which isn’t difficult to translate to EPA/p.
  19. Spotrac now has details: $1.035M salary (non-guaranteed) $75k roster bonus to be paid on 3/18 $25k work out bonus Still some dead money from his signing bonus to account for - $700k total, spread out over this year and next.
  20. Over the years it’s really been a group effort.
  21. Last season they were top 5 across the board from what I’ve seen. The team isn’t perfect, but I think that legit. Also ELO is another good metric. Here are some links: https://www.nfeloapp.com/nfl-power-ratings https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2021-nfl-predictions/ Explanation of EPA: https://www.thescore.com/nfl/news/2193857/amp I think the most important part of using any statistic or metric is to understand its limitations. People rip on PFF a lot, but their grades are useful in context. They are grading players on how well they execute their assigned duties within their scheme. That’s much different than asking how much a player is capable of. Players like Kirk Cousins (6th) and Allen (3rd) were not really that close as QBs last season. Cousins operated well in a limited role within a scheme that asked him to be efficient - and he was. But compared to what the Bills asked of Allen and his outsized role in his offense, there’s no real comparison.
  22. A well determined EPA/play statistic is pro the best option. The nature of that metric has positional weighting built in. DVOA is another good metric.
  23. Safety net. They’ll bring in another punter. Teams always do.
  24. I was wondering if there were any guarantees written into this. $1.035M is the vet minimum for 4-6 accrued seasons. If I had to guess - and it’s just a guess - is that no more than $100k is guaranteed. And guarantees could be as low as nothing. The team is just bringing him in to compete at a reduced salary. His salary can’t be lower than $1.035M. The roster bonus had to be reduced to $100k or less.
