  1. That’s all fair. I’m not worried about winning the division. If we don’t, then something very unfortunate or unforeseen has happened. My concerns are how tough the AFC is this year. That #1 seed and bye will be huge as there will likely be 7 very good teams in the playoffs for the AFC. Problems in the secondary could keep us from getting that bye. There also is what that DB squad means in the playoffs. There likely won’t be any easy games or easy QBs in the playoffs (maybe Tannehill, Tua or an old Ryan in the WC round). Still, it’ll be a tough road and I think we need our secondary in good form to get that ring.
  2. Right. You don’t think a person who was in an out of consciousness while being gang raped for 90-120 minutes could realized that they were raped?
  3. I don’t know what beyond alcohol she ingested, how much of it she ingested or if there was anything else at all. Seems very plausible to me that someone who’d just been gang raped for 90-120 minutes and was conscious enough to walk out of a room and communicate with another person would realized that they’d been raped.
  4. From a purely clinical viewpoint, this is 100% correct. He’s a rookie punter. When you are in the Bills position you don’t take a chance with a distraction like this for a rookie punter. Doing so would be incompetent. Edited to add: I expect the Bills to sign his replacement and move on. Stuff like that can take a little time.
  5. She did have that 90-120 minutes of being raped to sober up somewhat.
  6. I don’t think anyone said that the sky is falling, just that there is reason for concern. The addition of Miller is certainly where I expect improvement to come from, especially playoff Miller. He seemed to throttle back last regular season with the Rams, then opened it up for the playoffs. I wouldn’t read too much into the games with out Tre last season. We won the ones against Zach Wilson, Mac Jones (2), Cam Newton and Matt Ryan. We lost close ones to Tom Brady and Mahomes, giving up 33 and 42. We don’t need a healthy Tre to beat Wilson or Jones, but he’d sure help against the top QBs. The backups and youth at S and CB are at best unproven. All is not lost to be sure, but there’s enough uncertainty to make me concerned.
  7. Yup. When considering the kind of crimes we are discussing, that’s the only course of action. I am giving the Bills the benefit of doubt at the moment. They might have been getting their info from Araiza’s lawyer and may not have known all of what is coming out. The Bills have a very legit shot at a SB. You don’t invite this kind of distraction for a punter. Any punter. Sign his replacement after cut downs and move on.
  8. I have been thinking pretty much exactly the same things. I don’t expect White to be back to 100% this season. Elam was the 1st round CB I didn’t want to end up with. Even if I’m wrong about that, rookie CBs almost always struggle. I still really like Tauron at Nickel though. But I don’t love our depth. Ditto our safety depth behind our two dinged, aging studs.
  9. You certainly could be correct. My Google Law Degree is worth very little.
  10. California’s Romeo and Juliet exception can change the statutory rape charge from a felony to a misdemeanor. But it’s 3 years difference in age max. Araiza was 21 and the girl was 17. Plus there’s everything else that is alleged to happen.
  11. The LA Times article was kind of a rough read. If the accusations are true, some people need to go to jail.
  12. Yes, practice squads count against the cap. Active roster, IR, PUP and dead money also count. Suspended players do not count for the games they are suspended for however. In a nutshell: If money is paid to a player then it will count against the cap sooner or later, depending on structure. There are a few exceptions that have to do with small discounts on veteran players and bonuses and whether or not they are likely to be earned. But those are small numbers. Edited to add: Fines do not come off of the cap. So the Browns will NOT gain $5M in cap space from Watson’s fine.
  13. It is about what a team needs moving from Rule of 51 to full roster, including practice squad and minimum contingency. The other option is to trim salary by releasing one or more vets with at least decent sized contracts. That’s not really an option for the Bills this season.
  14. No need to give the Rams and other teams any info about his condition until we have to.
  15. Josh Allen literally has had hundreds of millions of dollars riding on his performance. Now compare that pressure to that of him hurting our collective feelings.
  16. Yup. A time to discuss trades that make no sense for either team.
  17. Thanks for the info. Looks like the team is taking his evaluation up until the last day. Fingers crossed for no major setbacks.
  18. Definitely would be a concern. I added the Spotrac link to my post. Forgot to do that.
  19. This is very misleading. While it is true that the Giants would save $13M in cap space this season (despite $8.15M in dead cap), they’d also have to eat another $10.2M in dead cap next season. I have to think that it is worth $2.8M for them to see how he does with the new coaches. Even if he has a bad season, he will have another chance next year with a different QB. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/new-york-giants/kenny-golladay-21838/

    Ragweed

Yes, both are antihistamines. Suggested by a friend who is a doc and my allergist had no issues with it.

    Ragweed

Thanks for the reply. I’m 53 now. I got allergy shots as a child until I went away to college. I’ve taken taken OTC meds since. I also take a puff of QVar everyday for asthma. I do have an allergist now. I started taking Grastek this year to help with my grass allergy. It is an immunotherapy for Timothy and related grass allergies. 2-3 seasons of that and hopefully at least that is in check. Interesting similarity - my allergies totally went away my first year in Buffalo. I was overjoyed. Then year 2 happened and I was right back to the usual. I heard that there is an air mass hanging over Buffalo now. It has a lot of allergens from the Midwest and Canada caught up in it. It should be gone by sometime Wednesday. Maybe that is it.

    Ragweed

I spent a week’s vacation in Northern Vermont a couple weeks ago. Weather and allergies were a big downer. My eyes were a mess almost certainly due to ragweed. Last week here in Buffalo everything was okay. This weekend and today it feels like Vermont all over again. Anyone else going through this? FYI I am taking Claritin, Zyrtec and Benadryl on a daily basis.
