So, we're rooting for Pittsburgh next week, right?
BigPappy replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Honestly... I would rather play the Steelers than the Titans. That said, I'm not really what to think about playing the Titans again. The last time we played them, we didn't know for sure who we were going to be playing and had to game plan on a short time frame. We got crushed... but we're not the same team that we were then either. Their Defense is mediocre at best of that Henry is an absolute beast and very tough to stop in the run game. -
As much as I think Moss struggled to gain yards at times, I still think he performed better than Singletary did this year. Our o-line needs to do better in run blocking schemes. Pass blocking they are ridiculously good. JA some weeks can sit back in the pocket and literally make a loaf of bread he has so much time and open space protecting him.

I'm going to apologize in advance because my inner nerd is coming out 😂. This reminds me of a Raymond Feist series that I read that started off with Magician Apprentice and Magician Master. At the End of Magician Master (I'm assuming you have not read these) the main character Pug after being told and treated throughout the book like he is so lowly and unimportant that he will amount to nothing is so disgusted and angered by what he is seeing take place that he literally cracks open the planet with his magical powers. JA's been told throughout HS and college he was never going to be good enough, never be accurate enough. It, as you said; pissed him off enough to light a fire in his belly to work his ass off and now, he's lit the whole NFL on fire and is going to burn the whole f'ing thing to the ground if he has to to prove everyone of those nah sayer's wrong Though Sci-Fi Fantasy is not everyone's "cup of tea", if you haven't read these two books, they are a great read.

Bills host WR Tanner Gentry for visit.
BigPappy replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just don't see Josh as a guy who would do that (use is "clout" to push for a specific player). That's just not who he is, at least in my opinion he's not "that kind of guy". That's more of a "Marcia" Brady or Troy Aikman move because they're a-holes. I would have to go with @buffaloboyinATL's take on this (see below) and say it's more of Bean giving courtesy to Josh by looking at a former teammate that he has had chemistry with for a 'as seamless possible" transition in the game dealing with the loss of Beasley if it comes down to that. -
Exactly! Yes, he dropped a sure thing TD pass. All of them do at times through out their career. He more than made up for it the rest of the game with some clutch catches that were pretty nice. Especially the sideline catch where he dragged his feet to stay inbounds.

2020 MVP Race - Has Mahomes been incredibly lucky?
BigPappy replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He definitely will have to continue to play like he has in these last two games to have a chance and I think that it will certainly help his cause to surpass Mahomes by a few touchdowns. Personally, I think he has already earned it. He is definitely the most improved QB over last year increasing his completion percentage by nearly 10 points, increased his accuracy; especially with his long ball, had fewer interceptions, more passing touchdowns from last year, more passing yards from last year, not to mention waaaay better pocket presence. All that said, I still don't think they will give it to him. The entire league is Mahomes happy right now, they have been since he started playing. Don't get me wrong, he is an outstanding player and will probably if he continues to play in the prolific manner that he has; will one day be in the HOF, but I don't think that he is this years MVP and it's not even close in my eyes. Call me a cynic but I think it's the "stigma" of him playing in Buffalo. I think the league hates it when any small market team not named Green Bay Packers have strong tough teams that compete and beat larger market teams. Or worse yet have elite players that they can't just ignore. -
Mike Tomlin on physicality of Bills
BigPappy replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Based on the video of the team coming together in the tunnel for JA's pregame speech I'd say you're 100% correct that they knew about it. As for Tomlin, that POS can vow all he wants that he didn't know about it but Ju Ju does that at EVERY road game. There is no way he's not "aware" of it. I know it, I know you know it.... and i know all of Bills nation knows it. -
Collinsworth - Credit where credit is due.....

I mean, we are talking about Collinsworth. He can be hard to follow at best sometimes and makes confusing statements all the time -
Collinsworth - Credit where credit is due.....
BigPappy replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure you actually understood his comparison. When he was making that reference, he was comparing JA and Beasley with how Brady always had his over the top receiver (Diggs or Brown for JA) but always had an underneath receiver that was always open for him like Beasley is for Josh. while I am not a Chris Collinsworth fan... he is annoying to listen to because 9 times out of 10 he's always talking about a supposed "special" player like he gets to suck him off after the game if he talks him up enough; he wasn't half bad last night. -
I was thinking the same thing last night during the game. They took the offensive holding penalty that put them at 2nd and 18. I was thinking even then, no problem, JA can get that in one toss if he needs to. They ended up getting 9 I think and making it 3rd and 9 which was manageable. Even the few occurrences where they have been at 3rd and 15 or more, I don't "worry" like I use to when it was darn near impossible for them to pick up that first down. Like you said.... now it's just another down and distance.

Can someone explain QBR & Allen's 75.2% QBR vs. SF???
BigPappy replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
BINGO!!! We have a winner. This is the best worded concise answers that I have seen that explains how this team was developed the past 3 seasons. -
You said he'll have a career in the pocket before his legs gave out in response to my comment that i don't think he will become a prototypical pocket passer. You said career.... last time I checked 2 years in the league does not make for a career. So yeah.... only time will tell.
-
Well.... If I'm wrong I'll admit it. Only time will tell. 🤷♂️
-
Understood, but it's football, he's going to get hit and sometimes he's going to get hit hard. You can't always avoid hits.
-
I agree... he's good. Maybe even slightly above average. But, unlike JA I don't see Murray as someone that can become a complete pocket passer. To me Murray is Lamar Jackson 2.0, who was a Michael Vick 2.0; Murray is just a bit smaller. Once they figure him out, he will regress like Lamar has. Don't get me wrong, Lamar still plays at a high level but teams are understanding his game more and are able to defend him better and they will with Murray too. If you look at Jacksons stats, he has 7 less touchdowns to only 2 less picks than Josh. (JA 21 TDs to 7 INT's and Jackson has 14 TD's to 5 INT's) Not to mention Jackson also only has 3 rushing TD's to Josh's 5. Josh on the other hand can be and is a complete pocket passer. He has pocket presence and awareness; sheds tackles and also has the escape-ability when needed to extend plays. I don't see Lamar or Kyler being able to become that prototypical "pocket" passer and personally, I think because of their size (more so with Kyler than Lamar) I don't think they have the durability to last beyond 5 maybe 6 years in the NFL. I don't think he's hesitant at all. I think he's trying to focus on his reads and getting the ball down field and trying to run it himself on only the designed plays for him to do that.

Jerry Hughes Do U Bring Him Back or Let Him Walk ?
BigPappy replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Release John Brown! Are you daft or just high on cocaine? The entire offence doesn't even work without Smoke in the lineup. That's been proven already when he missed games. And as another said, Davis is not up to the challenge yet in replacing him. There are better ways in making cap space assuming we even need to. -
Week 9 - Predict the score (Seattle @ Buffalo)
BigPappy replied to RiotAct's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That REALLY sucks. I think that dude is the heart of that defense. I noticed Micha is still in concussion protocol so i doubt that bodes well. If they both are out that really hurts our chances. I noticed that Brown was was listed as a DNP with a knee. does you or anyone know if that was just a veteran rest day or is he still actually injured? Our offense is no where near the same when he is not out on the field with Diggs. -
Week 9 - Predict the score (Seattle @ Buffalo)
BigPappy replied to RiotAct's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nope, not playing this game this week. LOL! It all hinges on who show up D for us, so I won't predict a score or a winner this week. Are there any notables on defense for sure out this Sunday for the Bills? -
I don't know why but I just laughed uncontrollably when I read the beginning. I mean, you're not wrong that it was catchable, and I certainly played my fair share of touch and even tackle football in my youth, but I just found the context and the actual words typed hysterical. Probably because of the comparison of touch football to NFL football, but I know thats not what you were really conveying. Sorry.... i just found it funny and I'm still giggling at this very second as i finish typing this.
