  1. He goes down this route and he'll fail. Keeping a list means he puts way too much thought into it. And it's easy to do in college where you're successful and everybody at school loves you, the list is probably short. Wait until he goes to a struggling NFL team and is expected to make magic happen and he doesn't the first year or maybe even the second year. Then what?
  2. With even slightly competent QB play last year we were a 10 or 11 win team.
  3. We made the playoffs with guys like Tyrod, Joe Webb and Peterman playing QB so I would have to say yea, we're still a playoff team with AJ.
  4. I didn't vote in your poll because the trade up option you wrote out makes you sound like a biased ass hat. Both firsts this year, a 3rd this year and next year's first. Hardly giving up two drafts and possibly cementing the one position we've needed to fill since Kelly retired 20 something years ago.
  5. I wonder if he means a guy that comes from under center or a guy that can make plays from the pocket. I can't imagine formation is really all that important, just that the guy they pick can make plays from the pocket without having to run in circles every pass play before throwing a hideously inaccurate ball.
  6. Just a bit more perspective on moving up. Almost half of the Super Bowls have been played by this list (22 Super Bowls out of 51). 110 Playoff appearances. You can spin it however you want but I'd take my chances in the top 10 at this point. It's the one thing that's never been tried.
  7. No saying that means I am applying logic to the situation. You listed a group of players, how on Earth do you know that's who Beane would draft to being with? Your entire premise is a joke. We've sat around and let QBs fall to us. That's how you end up with the Manuels and the Losmans and the Edwards of the world. And we've been down the former backup road with the Holcombs and the Johnsons and the Fitzpatricks. I have plenty of faith and Beane, that's why now more than ever we should move up.
  8. You are simply pretending you can see the future. You can't. You don't know that a rookie doesn't beat out McCarron. McCarron could be terrible. All 6 picks you draft instead of trading up for a top QB could be out of the league in 3 years. I doubt McCarron beats out Mayfield, Darnold or Rosen. But finding a QB is top priority and you aren't doing that at 12.
  9. Biggest need being a QB. With a real QB we don't back into the playoffs because we would have beat the Panthers. And we could have easily beat the Jags in the first round with a couple extra completions. The rest of the roster was patchwork and we were right there. Last year we were supposed to tank so I'm not buying the 5-6 holes crap.
  10. Well we may not know the details of the case but it's certainly shone a light on some of the posters on this board. Yikes.
  11. Eason, Thorson and Lock are 3 to keep an eye on this upcoming season.
  12. The whole premise of this thread is idiotic. No way to know if those players would be available at those picks. None of them have any more or less chance of being successful than Rosen. The draft is a crap shoot. With all the draft capital we have, this is the year to roll the dice.
  13. Rosen has a completion percentage of 63% when facing the blitz. That's the best QB in the draft. While Allen certinaly has everything physically you could ever dream of in a QB, it's been proven time and time again that it isn't easy to fix a guys mechanics. In fact, it's damn near impossible. And any flaw will be exponential at the NFL level. Sloppy mechanics and poor decision making will not be easy to fix going from the competition at Wyoming to the NFL.
  14. Biggest upgrade to the wide receiver group was getting rid of Tyrod.
  15. The only jack ass is the one you have to look at in the mirror every morning.
  16. The Browns are drafting TWO quarterbacks now?? Too bad I don't believe you have an asset to your name.
  17. He has an unbelievable arm and surprising athleticism. Someone is gonna bite. Really starting to feel like Mayfield might be the one that falls to us, but I'm not sure we even want him.
  18. You probably have two teams picking from 3 top tier QBs. I think the Browns will definitely take one. I don't think the Giants will. The Jets at 3 aren't even a lock, I'd say. They did sign Bridgewater. Keenum went to the Broncos. Colts, Bucs, Bears, 49ers, Oakland, probably not likely to pick QBs. I'm more worried that the guy we want is there but we have to send a pick to the 9ers or Raiders to leapfrog Miami, who's a wildcard for QB, though they did just restructure Tannehill. We will see I guess.
  19. Hypothetically speaking...
  20. If not for his elite arm strength, no one would even be talking about Josh Allen. He has that many flaws. Lamar Jackson is yet another Vick/Tyrod/RGIII type of QB. He relies heavily on his legs to keep defenses honest and to bail him out in tough spots. It could work at the NFL, or it could be a disaster. History gives us a pretty good indication. He also doesn't have the arm strength of Vick. Mayfield could be Brees. And Rosen and Darnold are 1 and 2. He's got a ton of white guilt and considering he isn't from America, he's just doing what the media says is fashionable these days, which is bash Trump. He also thinks Jackson is the best QB in the draft, need we say more?
  21. Now this is someone I would actually like to see come in for a visit. (Go Gators!)
  22. Oh yea, I'm sure. Because all three of them never see turnover at any of those positions LOL Tyrod sucked last year, the receivers just became the scapegoat.
  23. I was really looking forward to him coming in for a year. Once he caught a few of those "accurate" passes from Tyrod though, he was done.
  24. Gotta have a dance partner. Browns aren't moving out of 1. Giants might move but they don't have to either. It's not Madden, the team with the pick doesn't HAVE to trade anything, no matter what is offered.
