Then we draft a guy and he has the worst corps. of receivers I think an NFL team has ever fielded and we're going to blame him rather than the receivers. Buffalo's fan base is ass backwards into everything, including tables.

He was always a gadget player and deep threat. Problem was when he got to the NFL he couldn't break tackles and juke defenders like he could in the ACC (imagine that.)

It has nothing to do with chickens. The guy is one dimensional, always has been, always will be. Woods leaving was the worst. He was the best all around receiver on the team. Blocking, catching, route running, effort. Goodwin was a surprise to me when he left, he couldn't catch a cold in Buffalo. Sammy was wide receiver #3 in the most prolific offense last year with the Rams. This year is more of the same with KC, although he is probably on pace to have his best year, in his 6th season with his 3rd team.

Watkins would still be doing nothing in Buffalo. Allen might have gotten a few deep balls to him but that's about it. And with how terrible all the other receivers are, he'd be easy to double cover.

His philosophy isn't broken but they might want to seriously consider finding scouts that can assess offensive players as well as they can defensive players.

Funny, I knew the previous regime was a joke the moment they traded up to select Watkins, passing on Khalil Mack.

I'd love to see more of what we did against the Pats with Allen at QB, considering he is actually a threat to run or throw and it doesn't have to be snapped to McCoy. Watching the Rams offense, McVay uses motion a lot to get guys separation right from the snap. I think that what Daboll was doing was actually pretty modern and could be effective and get Allen easy reads.

I mean these threads keep popping up but Allen is the only QB to win a game for us so far this year so... I dunno... maybe give him a chance to develop? It's rare for a rookie to come out of the gate and set the league on fire.

Then we obviously draft one. I get it, this team sucks, you're upset. But you're really throwing out all logic with this. Every team faces the same problems every year. The ones that seem to be unaffected are the ones with good QBs. Only time will tell if we'll be one of those teams. While you may agree or disagree with the aquistions made, they are attempting to build a team like a modern NFL franchise in the era of free agency. Draft draft draft and sign a free agent or two when needed.

That's technically false. With that much cap space, we can make up for the fact that we might have to pay the tax and still get the guys we're after. This is an extremely young team, the free agents we'll be targeting will be mostly offensive line and wide receiver. And wide out is the only one of those two positions where we'll be paying a premium anyways. Don't expect every penny to be spent. "The Process" is clearly based on building through the draft and attempting to add quality free agents where applicable.

We're in position to possibly draft a generational edge rusher to add to what is already a near elite defense. If they can build an offense that scores more than a couple times every 40 drives, this will be a very good team next year.

Money will be spent along the offensive line where applicable. Possibly a wide receiver if a good one is available. Also have some defensive guys that will need contracts. Looks like we'll have a very high draft pick which will either be traded to move down or an edge rusher will be selected. You may be right that there will be a crappy team tax but how is that really any different than any other year for the past two decades?

Pretty simple. They weren't going to get stuck with another Whaley QB after the EJ debacle. Time will tell if that was a good or bad choice. But the logic behind it is sound.

Dude has fought his way to where he is now, he's got a lot more fighting to do. It's unpopular opinion here but I think he'll be alright. Even if it is after Buffalo cuts him or trades him and he goes somewhere else. I just can't believe how short sighted people are around here. The guy currently taking over the record books was iffy at best for a couple years before getting hurt and singing elsewhere. Sure Rivers is good, but Brees is an all time great. With a ring that San Diego never won.

Sean Peyton isn't letting Bridgewater go anywhere. Brees is going to retire here at some point, maybe even after this season.

So the question is, who fires McDermott? Beane? Or Pegula? I actually like the talent they've brought in (though I didn't think it required jettisoning all the talent we had to begin with) but the coaching, my god... It's like watching Chan Gailey's teams except instead of being proficient on offense, it's the defense that's good. I was on the bandwagon until this game. I mean, how? I have to laugh at these threads. No matter who we would have picked, they clearly would've struggled. They are ALL currently struggling. Which means you can take Josh Allen's name out and insert any of the other names and these are the same threads we'd have, no matter who it was. Mayfield gonna bust, too small. Darnold gonna bust, weak arm, USC. Rosen gonna bust bad attitude, Jay Cutler. Blah. Blah. Blah.

What do you think the success rate is of QBs from college to pros? How many drafted/brought into camp compared to how many actually succeed? And then how many succeed at a high level? Some of the greatest QBs weren't even drafted. It's a crap shoot. If you're going to have a QB that fails, at least put your money on the guy that could be truly great if it all comes together for him. Allen is that guy. They all have trouble processing defenses, making reads, keeping their eyes up under pressure, etc. right now. It's called being a rookie QB in the NFL.
