  1. I think Jim will be a great influence/has been a great influence on Josh. My favorite part is Jim telling Josh CALL YOUR OWN PLAY. He's right in Josh needs to take control of this thing. He's a humble kid, you can tell he was raised right and he might be shying away from telling Daboll how he wants it, especially with Daboll screaming in his face a couple times this year. Josh is the leader of the offense whether Daboll is here or not. As Jim said, communication with the rest of the offense, being confident in what he's seeing. He has the acumen and the talent he just needs to continue to build the confidence.
  2. I adopted the Gators myself during my first time living in Florida in 2004. Bills weren't on TV often and I needed a team to watch for my football fix. College is opposite because a lot of people go to school in Florida so you end up with kids and parents that all become fans of that program. They just don't start going to Rays and Dolphins games.
  3. Sports in Florida has nothing to with the weather and everything to do with it being a place comprised of people from other places. Most people down there are fans of the teams from where they came and have no interest in rooting for the Florida teams.
  4. Even if he did, doesn't excuse violently assaulting someone with a weapon.
  5. Lamar takes some shots at the end of runs sometimes. I'm torn on the whole sliding thing, seems like that's when QBs get hit the worst. Either need to slide early or take the guy on IMO.
  6. OK boomer. I saw Barry and Thurman but that was already a backfield at OSU.
  7. Allen had the least amount of starts coming out of college. That's the reason he was considered a project above all else. Lack of experience. Comparing his 2nd year to Russ' second year is a bit misleading because Russ started for 4 years in college. Josh had 649 pass attempts over two full seasons, Russ had nearly 1,500 attempts over 4 years. He had 527 in ONE season. That's a huge gap in experience. Lets just be happy we got our guy and he's improving every week.
  8. I'd take a back field of Earl Campbell and Barry Sanders.
  9. He's Josh's number 1 option at the moment and it was great to see Josh not shying away from him. Just throw him the ball. I still think a big and physical guy that can make the acrobatic catches, the 50/50 ball along the sidelines and in the endzone should be a priority this off season. The Bills still need that reason for teams to play zone. A lot of DCs have taken their chances and played man to man and blitzed Allen because they feel they have favorable matchups in the secondary. You put a bigger guy on the other side that teams feel like they have to double to keep their corner from getting "Mossed" down the side line and you completely open up the offense. Allen's arm strength has proven time and again that it can shred zone defenses at all three levels.
  10. To be fair, they've kept him hidden behind the line of scrimmage and people are seeing him execute the play that is called. He is something special when's unleashed on blitzes and in coverage. Play calling on both sides of the ball looked much better against Miami. Attacking the QB, simplified offense that actually called normal, NFL style plays that are known to work at timely moments. The staff at this point has got to learn to unleash these young guys every week. They don't need to be coddled, they need to be put in a position to be dominant. Sometimes that means they'll have to swallow their pride and move away from their coveted schemes once in awhile.
  11. A. He played as well as you could hope. People discounting the opponent is non sense. Phins were on a two game win streak, divisional opponent on the road. It was really a deciding game for the Bills. If they had lost, the tailspin of seasons' past would have begun. Josh and the rest of the team handled their business like you'd expect a team looking towards the playoffs to handle it.
  12. While it was against Miami, I did see a lot more conventional play calling. They threw a couple screens, couple pop passes, even had some seam routes working. Singletary got his 15 touches. He still had a couple throw away drives. Don't like to see 3 pass plays called when you're up. Should've remained balanced since Miami was struggling to stop the run with Singletary in there. But overall it looked much better. Just need to do it 7 more times this year and we're golden.
  13. I was speaking in general terms. Minus this injury, it certainly would be a concern for NFL teams but I don't think it would've effected his draft position.
  14. I think that might be less true with rookie contracts capped the way they are. Used to matter a lot more when you had to sign rookies to high end contracts right out of the gate. However in this situation, he may not even be an option. Hip injuries are rare but very serious. It might be a couple years before he can play again.
  15. I think they might be moving Edmunds to Alexander's spot. Vosean Joseph would move into that middle spot.
  16. CeeDee Lamb would be my choice as well. The Bills have equal need of an edge rusher and wide receiver, it will be interesting to see how they fill these needs, whether through the draft or free agency or both.
  17. Oh god here we go with the white guy started it crap. Really? Did he? You're right, he was the one that instigated the late hit, slammed himself on the ground and ripped his own helmet off. ***** out of here with that garbage.
  18. Rudolph 2 games, Garret 1 year minimum and assault charges should be brought up. Remember when Gronk tried to kill Tre? NFL Can't let this kind of thing continue to escalate.
  19. Callaway was excellent in college. Can people be converted to "The Process" or are you just born into it?
  20. DiMarco should be inactive and they should move towards using Knox in an H Back role when they feel the need for a FB. Not convert him to H back, just move him there when needed. Imagine those FB wheel routes going to Knox instead of DiMarco. I mean if they are willing to run a jet sweep with Knox, I don't see this as being too big of a stretch. Daboll needs to scheme for his best players rather than trying to fit players into his best scheme. McKenzie is also a victim of this. You see small, fast guys like Sproles for instance, get built into an offense all the time. But there has to be a very specific instance where McKenzie sees the field currently. The constant rotation of personnel has probably created quite a few tendencies that make this offense very predictable to defend.
  21. @MAJBobby But it still doesn't explain the .500 record. And those stats are most likely heavily skewed by guys like Brees, Rodgers etc that are effective 9 times out of 10 no matter what the play call is.
  22. @MAJBobby that's all well and good when you have an established QB but most teams do not. You run first because you are attempting to create opportunities in the passing game with play action. You want the backers and corners on their toes rather than their heels so to speak, cheating up to stop the run. You can see the difference in our offense when we attempt play action and no one bites and you just end up with a condensed route tree and everyone covered. A multi dimensional offense is always harder to stop than an offense that relies on only the run or only the pass. In fact there are stats that prove passing a lot, passing for over 300 yards, not really that important either, with QBs having about a .500 record when doing so.
