Armstead is the one guy I don't want

    - 2 out of the 5 seasons he's played, he has sat out half the season with injury.

    - He never had more than 3 sacks in a season before this year.

    - He plays on a loaded defense and faces solo coverage all the time due to Bosa and Bruckner getting attention.

    - He never did anything until the two guys (above) came in and dominated, which created opportunities for him.

    - He will be incredibly expensive.

    NO.

Get out of here with these facts and well thought out arguments- just let the rest of us believe what we want.?

I’m over the whole “not a process guy” thing. The Bills had a trade worked out for ANTONIO BROWN!!! The assumption that the Bills will only entertain certain personalities is not just misguided, it’s wrong. When Beane and McDermott arrived they wanted to establish a core in the locker room. They did that. They then negotiated a deal for ANTONIO BROWN!! Stop looking at every player through the “not a process lens” and figure out if the guy makes sense for the Bills. In Williams case, at his position and at his contract demands, I don’t think it makes sense.

At the time of the trade for AB it was not known how crazy he was- and he while he was a Diva he never got in the way of his team winning like OBJ. Now I am so glad he did not want us.

We could always just grab Daryl Williams to play RT and slide Ford over to guard. He was all the rage here last year if I recall correctly. He’s not the same talent as Trent Williams, but he’s a free agent (keep our draft picks), he’s only 27, may not cost as much $, already plays RT, and Beane and McD know what kind of person and player he is having been with him in Carolina.

If the Bills bring him in I will be excited because they know what he brings and he works well with Cam Newton.

Man, you are REALLY concerned about the contracts these guys are getting huh?  Not sure how to make you comfortable with the idea that salaries escalate EVERY SINGLE YEAR with the CBA. The money the league makes grows each year. The player’s salaries are a percentage of that revenue. The new CBA even offers a higher percentage of the revenue (if it’s passed). The players will be getting 48.5% of that revenue. The league is shooting for $25B in revenue when their TV deals expire in 2021!! https://touchdownwire.usatoday.com/2019/07/15/nfl-revenue-owners-players-billions/

Now we can talk about what’s a good investment and what’s a bad one but we certainly don’t need to worry about a couple million dollar overpayment having ANY impact on the team’s ability to do business. Stop looking at the raw number and look at the big picture. It’s 48.5% (or will be) of a rapidly rising overall revenue.

I understand what you are saying but the NBA just had a reckoning when the anticipated increase did not happen. Teams were stuck having overpaid players and lost all flexibility.

That's the rub with taking any RB in the first round. They're probably only good value when they're on their rookie deal, but if you only expect to use them on their rookie deal, it probably isn't worth it to begin with.

I was highly impressed with him in college but to be a long term pro RB you must not take big shots, and I think he does not shy away from contact.

Heading into the 1989 season,  Bills had just lost the AFC title game the third season of Jim Kelly

but the year flopped ending in Cleveland with Ronnie Harmon dropping one of the easiest gimme TD passes ever

Amswers pretending Flutie was grounds for optimism is false and punishable....

You mean having a defense with all pro players at every level and a competent offense is not where you think we are? That 99 defense was great and our offense was good with Flutie

  6. As stated above the prevent Defense was a huge part of it but also the Oilers had no " slower" offense, they went pedal to the metal or nothing. Once they changed the game plan offensively they had issues and by the time they changed back we had 4 TDs. That version of the Bills had other insanely quick scoring periods just none as important. I know we once scored 3 TDs vs Denver around that time in 77 seconds without much offense being involved.

The refs were in our pocket.

    Beebe was out of bounds!

This is the moment my Pat's* fan father in law uses to prove that officials make mistakes and the Bills benefit as much as Pat's* do. The fact his team would still get the TD today with the replay means nothing to him.

and THAT is really saying something. Bars with ST are a terrible experience and ridiculously expensive. Food is crap and drinks overpriced. Can’t hear your game and asshat fans of the opposition combined with leaving with an empty wallet diminish even your teams biggest wins of the season.

At least that’s been my experience when being on the road.

When I traveled I made sure I went to bills bar whenever possible or as a second choice Hooters- they always put on the game for me and most people there were more interested in the women than the game, not that I ignored the women but game came first

  8. If I could get Khalil Mack for that pick or even that pick and an additional 3rd I would do it in a minute. We could have him for two years and 30 million which would be a steak for guy of his caliber but the Bears would have to admit that they royally screwed the pooch to do that and GMs rarely last who admit that.

They have a valid point- how could Barr have allowed a trial to proceed under his leadership where the jury had a democrat employee  and a family member of one of the people working the case on the jury? They literally have a vested interest in the outcome.

  10. The QB play was poor but the surprising part to me was that the officials made two big calls on the last drive for Tampa on what seemed to be plays that did not need to be called. it seemed up to that point they only called things that HAD to be called, those two in crunch time seemed small.

Uh... have they not heard of the Supremacy Clause? Also, how do they think that a state court has any authority to grant a writ over someone in federal detention? Though it would be quite hilarious for someone to try to sue the agents or federal government in state court with this "civil action" nonsense.

    I hate grandstanding moron politicians.

Whenever I get into an argument about who has final say federal or state I use only one line- " we had a war to decide this and Lincoln won"
