The empty backfield does not mean we leave Allen without protection. We can use two tight ends( Smith and Knox) on one side and three recievers on other and make D commit one way or other to stopping run behind TE side or leave recievers with light coverage

In what way do you think he has hit his plateau as a rookie? From what I saw, he was getting better as the season went on.
Also, those numbers are not the ranking, they are their drafted positions. The ranking is at the bottom of each player (star, starter, work to do)
They labeled him a star already, which to me means a top ten at his position already ala Boss. Oliver to me is on his way to being top 10 but definitely not there yet, I expect him to be better next year and in successive years.

Cam ends up starting for the Chargers. They need to have their Drs give him a thorough review but that’s his spot.
I think the fit of Cam with Tyrod backing him up makes a ton of sense, but I think the Bolts might be going into tank mode for a QB next year.

I think the grade on Oliver is too high. I think he is on his way to being great but I am certainly not happy if he has already hit his plateau. I also think the rating on Murray is too high also, the rest seemed fair from the limited amounts I saw of them.

It is all true and now is a good time to get on the bandwagon. My question is who has been a consistent winner for a 10 year period but still liked by vast majority? I came up with Saints recently and San Antonio Spurs but no one else in any sport.

I don't think this is Bold but I think we will go BPA first 2 picks but high upside every pick after.

This article is appalling on several levels based simply on facts:
1) Communists started it and allowed it to get worse because they have no moral reason to stop it.
2) the areas of US getting beat up worse are the most liberal areas.
3) NYC itself is worst spot in country at least partially due to DeBlasio being pro PC and anti science.
4) the number of liberals blaming Trump for their lack of action shows that the Evangelicals are not the issue here.
But why let any intelligent thought cause the Times to care.

I would be surprised if the NFL does not have games close to normal schedule even if they do not have any fans present. They can test all players repeatedly if needed and play in empty stadiums but the TV ratings will be great if not simply for the normalcy of it.

I literally went through something similar in college 20 years ago where another student told me I can not say the horrible things I believe on campus. He told me this while in MY house as an invited guest as the friend of a friend. He was going to call campus security on me until someone explained my house was not on campus.

Some Players still on the Market that I would like to see Buffalo kick tires on...
QB (if willing to accept a BU Role):
Winston
Newton
Flacco
RB:
Carlos Hyde
Lamar Miller
Devonta Freeman (probably too close of a Skill Set to Singletary)
TE:
Ricky Seals-Jones
Delanie Walker
WR:
Rashard Higgins
Demarcus Robinson
OL:
Really none
DL:
Jadeveon Clowney
Everson Griffen
Ezekiel Ansah
Daniel Wise
LB:
Darron Lee
Nigel Bradham
DB:
Ronald Darby
Darqueze Dannard
I would be interested in:
Hyde
Walker
Ansah
Darby
I picked them based on what kind of money I expect them to make and I think they could be signed to 1 or 2 year deals. All the QBs I think will want bigger money.

having a lot of tight ends is one thing. Having good tight ends is another. At this point, we don’t really have 1 good one. Knox might be, but dropping 25% of his targets tells me he’s not yet “good”. Sweeney, looked good and could be a nice player....yet he couldn’t get on the field over 3 TEs that aren’t good.
I’d really like to add someone in the draft, but it’s a pretty week class
As you point out a really good tight end would be awesome but rarely will a second round TE be good year one. I think we simply must be prepared for our best TE will be an improved Knox. I truly think we will go BPA at that point.

A few others are making the argument that RB is never a "glaring" need, and I've often said something like that myself.
But what I typically mean is that you shouldn't feel compelled to spend excessive capital to address the need. A solid offense DOES need effective RB play, though.
So how do the Bills ensure they get solid production from the position over the course of an entire NFL campaign? (Draft Day 2 is the most popular option so far.)
I definitely agree that an effective ground game is needed to succeed in NFL now but I think that is generally due to a good Online vs a good RB. I hope we get a better RB2 but it will not be a priority in my mind. I think a better TE will do as much for the running game as a better RB2.
-
You have a strong roster for who is currently a Bill- I am surprised we have no real backup ILB on roster and I assume that will be addressed relatively quickly. But I like that team.
-
I do not think it is a "glaring" need. We have a solid 1 and I would like better behind him but if it is Yeldon and some rookie I am fine. I would prefer a better LB or DE for the rotation.

But...but....but I thought nobody wants to come to Buffalo! Those days seem to be over LOL.
As with any team you start winning and people want to come- Golden State, Astros, Chicago Blackhawks- but no one wants to go to a loser for similar money.

Thanks for the reminder! One of the best shows I’ve seen. Love Ozark!Ozark is paying someone a $1000 to watch next season. Look up contest looks legit to me.

these GMs act like it’s so hard. Just research the guy’s background and FaceTime interviews. They are going to make a bunch of terrible picks anyways.
or just let each team’s fans vote on the draft picks
Can you imagine how letting fans pick players would work? The draft would go generally to plan until Pat's* and then they would pick 7 punters.

I do agree with this. I also know we’re screwed if Barkley has to play and that could derail a playoff berth. Get Joe Flacco.
I agree on Barkley part but I am not sure Flacco will be cheap enough.

Isn't that the definition of a backup QB. I don't see many starting opportunities for Cam. The important question is: is Cam an upgrade to our current back up? I believe that he would be yes.
You and I disagree on what Cam is willing to do when he arrives wherever that is. If he is not the starter he will do what he must to become the starter, he will sow division in the locker room. Skill set is far less important on a backup QBs resume than the proper mentality.

Hi: I took all kinds of heat when I started this thread. Well..... I just read on CBS Sportsline that the Bills are the 2nd most likely landing place for cam Newton.
It makes sense on many levels.
It would make sense only from a skill set stand point- right now Can is a lesser version of JA. I understand he was MVP only 4 years ago but that was a long time ago in regards to the hits he has taken. Cam will end up in a situation where he feels he can start and Buffalo is not one of them.

Have some balls and just outright call me a white racist you *****.
Many people on this site will do that but he thought he would soft sell it. a month ago I was called a racist for saying I would rather have JA than Lamar Jackson. The fact that the only two QBs I like better than JA is Wilson and Mahomes has no bearing on my dislike of Jackson's future. I have realized that my argument was so sound they had to make up a lie to make themselves feel better.

Off season is not done so I think an A- is fair. I would knock it for slight overpay on Diggs which keeps it from being an A.

Honestly I might be in the minority but i don’t think newton was ever that good of a QB. Once you take away his athleticism he’s mediocre at best. He’s not a good pocket passer and only puts up good stats against bad teams. No leadership skills and a premadonna attitude to go with it. Was never a Cam Newton fan, especially after he threw some kids computer out the window while at Auburn
Two things that I think you are being unfair on- discounting his athleticism is weak because he was a supreme athlete and if he did not use it then he never would have been a QB. Second his stats were good against good teams for several years. Lastly minor point- the computer throwing incident was at University of Florida. Overall though I want no piece of 2020 Cam.

I have no clue how a guy who had 3.5 sacks last year wants $20 million. It's insane. Clowney is a good player, but I don't feel he is elite.
The Titans just gave Tannehill $127 million for 4 years with $91 almost fully guaranteed. Clowney looks at that and says he is worth 60 million over 3 years. I don't agree with Clowney or giving Tannehill that much but it is out there.

Murphy is not a bad player and RB is the most disposable position in the NFL. Unless we replace Murphy he should stay and we can get a RB in draft or XFL or street free agent.

I still do not expect him to be top 10 this year based on last year. Maybe they mean simply a star compared to the rest of the group because a lot of them are not impressive. If I am wrong about him being a pro bowler next year I will own it gladly.
