I just watched the most "woke" movie ever, The Marvels with my wife. there was only one white male who had a speaking role and several of the actors were terrible at acting. the story was clearly aimed at appealing to non comic book fans and it was done so poorly that it is now the biggest money loser of all time. At the end of this year Disney will likely have 7 of the top 8 money losers of all time.

I was in Asheville this week with wife and 15 year old daughter and we saw a protest. My daughter was very confused for multiple reasons, 1- everyone there was 60+ years old, 2-they were ranting at a microphone without saying anything, 3- a good portion was wearing masks despite being outside, 4- they started marching down the road singing a song about being peaceful, while blocking people trying to simply get around. She truly has no idea why they thought it would work, especially if they were trying to convince people

Colbert is being paid 15 million to get 2.5 million viewers, which is not outrageous if they are the "right" viewers, age and demo wise. I can't find it now but at one time the breakdown was Kimmel is the rich, Fallon is the young( my students watch some of his stuff) and Colbert is the geriatrics. I have mentioned several of them but I will give one I have likely not mentioned before: In 2017 the county received a grant to help some of the lowest performing schools. They paid an additional 20k a year to teachers for three years at those schools to help recruitment but then harangued them and told them how to teach. Why would you simply not pick the best teachers and let them do their job? The grant required that the teachers spend so much time on paperwork they couldn't do their job properly. So more money to the teacher, more supervision, but no better results

the DOE solution to failing schools was two things- more money for failing or more oversight, which cost more money. Nothing they ever pushed really mattered and usually was just a box to check.
