So the independent state legislature means the states supercede the authority of the federal government? If you actually believe the SC as currently built will rule that way you have ZERO understanding of what they think or what they believe. If you are simply arguing that they might rule that individual judges can not overturn entire legislatures without a clear backing in law, than you are correct. These are not similar things though and you seem to be confusing them

First thing first- 17th amendment states that Senators are direct elected by the voters, States can't change that now. Secondly NY had the map thrown out because it was against their state constitution. Third the state legislature must still follow federal law, so they can do whatever they want within the law. Lastly Pennsylvania last year broke their own constitution to sent out ballots, so unfortunately the SC might have to rule on how these things get resolved.

Do you literally look for ways to look ignorant? The original constitution was written so that states did not have to allow the average man the right to select the president, only that the state has electoral votes based on size. Until about 1920 the Senate was selected by the State government, not the people at all. I would support an amendment to push that into law but it is definitely not one now.

Locked on Bills Podcast: A Case for Tremaine Edmunds
Orlando Buffalo replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall
I started by pointing out it was not a perfect analogy, but also have you watched middle school basketball lately? It would not be nearly the insult you think it is. 🙂 -
Locked on Bills Podcast: A Case for Tremaine Edmunds
Orlando Buffalo replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have an analogy that is less than perfect but will get my point across: my daughter is in middle school and plays for her school and the YMCA. I am her coach at the Y and because of her I am able to play a high pressure defense with the other 4 on the court and just her defending the lane basically in a league where the majority of the baskets are from the foul line or closer. When she is on the court the other teams generally don't score, but she does not block many shots or get a ton of steals, all of her teammates do that and have the stats but she is the reason we won most games by an average of about 28-8. At end of year one of the parents still said the kid who had the most steals was our defensive MVP, when I could have replaced him with so many of the other kids in the league. The entire point of my big diatribe is that when you build an odd defense people who don't understand it think of the positions conventionally, even when they are clearly being asked to do different. -
No one has been denied this drug, you are quoting people who are afraid it could happen.

Your comment mocking those who disagree with you is hilarious due to the lack of self awareness. No one is stating the future is not renewables but your comments make it seem that you believe by 2025 we will be able to transition to solar and wind. But to answer your question about why so much is spent on renewables is that whoever finds a way to make solar efficient enough, along with battery capacity, will be a trillionaire. We will get there and I hope it will be in my lifetime but simply restricting the fossil fuel options is not going to make it happen any faster.

I am curious to all of the Edmund bashers how do the Bills run a 4-2 defense unless Edmunds and Milano are both really good? Our Dline has not been elite but somehow we had the #1 defense in league this past year statistically. We run a defense that required two great LBs and we ran it successfully last year, so either the dude can play or the other 5 covered up for him. Part of me hopes this conversation is happening again next year because if he does make splash plays he will definitely cost too much for us next year and it is highly unlikely a 3rd rounder can step in and fill his shoes

Funny, That There's Zero Pushback
Orlando Buffalo replied to Kemp's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Hutchinson is a flat out liar, or just to stupid to be taken seriously. The concept of nuance in this situation, that the SS allowed a president to speak in front of men with guns l, is absurd and something only the gullible believe -

Any argument that relies on the fact that the Secret Service allowed a sitting president to speak in front of people with AR-15 rifles present is invalid. The Secret Service would not have allowed Trump to get up until they had removed all known armed people in the crowd because if any one of them was anti Trump he could easily kill the president. -
I am waiting for an answer from my political sparring partner of how he believes Trump was promoting an armed insurrection at the rally but the Secret Service allowed him to speak to armed men? Literally I asked how to makes these thoughts work together about almost 24 hours ago without any response.

How Far Will This Court Go?

I do not believe the Bible is word for word golden mainly because it has been translated multiple times between languages and also through societies prism of the time, but I know there is a Good for reason I can't explain quickly but through a true hard look at the world overall. But I truly want to know, do you believe we have souls? -
Your correct but this woman just stated things that are clearly lies while under oath to Congress and many people heard it and believed it. The vast majority of coverage today was that she was dropping a bombshell when anyone who gives it an ounce of thought knows the Secret Service would not allow him on stage with guns in the crowd and that the Beast does not allow for the president to get near the steering wheel. This entire committee is a sham and today is basically par for the course.

That was the first live Bills game I had seen in 16 years so bringing that up was inappropriate. But every football game is more entertaining then that one was, every player on both sides was terrible except the other Josh Allen
-
I found the USFL more entertaining then watching a great NFL team vs a poor one. The USFL QBs are about the same level as a low level backup but at least the defenses are the same level.

I found Jesus because I gave it an actual hard look at the world, nothing inevitable about it. You sound like my extended family members who say similar things to justify their behavior. But I have a real question for you, do you believe we have a soul? -

The first gulp from the glass of natural sciences will turn you into an atheist, but at the bottom of the glass God is waiting for you. -
How Far Will This Court Go?
Orlando Buffalo replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
This topic in general could be rewritten to say " what is the supreme court going to properly make Congress do". For too long the supreme court has passed rulings that far exceed their authority. Congress needs to step up and do their jobs -
Once again your statement is that denying communion is political because they praise something that is decidedly anti Catholic. If they publicly praise people who are satanic would that be political also? The argument about abortion to anyone who is not a political hack of the highest order is not political but a discussion about the rights of the mother vs the rights of the baby. As I stated this is not a political argument, which is why both liberal and conservative Catholics in general are pleased with the outcome
-
You believe the Catholic church trying to stand up for the unborn is 100% political? Your entire statement is written as if you believe you understand the Catholic Church but you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.
-
I have a real question- what will be policy for companies that are paying for women to travel to get abortions if women travels and then changes her mind? I know it happens sometimes but what is to stop a women from simply traveling for a vacation when she gets pregnant? I just see a lot of privacy issues popping up from these policies that will be interesting to watch.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/aoc-says-supreme-court-justices-155701061.html AOC is now arguing that Roe vs Wade was not the law of the land for the past 50 years. But the best statement from her is that she "believes" perjury is an impeachable offense, which is like saying I believe water is necessary for life, it is not a belief it is a fact

Irony isn't dead you just never understood what it actually means.
