  1. I do feel bad for Griner in that she does not deserve to go to jail for an extended period based on the minor violation but she went to another country and expected to be like an American, you can't do that no matter who you are.
  2. I asked a question, hence the question mark. Apparently asking you a question to explain yourself is just going to get me nonsense back.
  3. Poor speaker but she clearly means she will shoot and kill anyone who threatened her grandkids lives. Would you shoot someone to protect your children?
  4. The guy supported Hillary in 2016, and this is a quote from Republican head of Amherst, "In no way do I want Joel Giambra representing Amherst," he said. "I don't like his politics, and it was a big mistake for us to back such a liberal Democrat like him for county executive" don't feel like we lost a good one.
  5. Hitler loved people who are teachers and already participate in questionaires like this? You are so odd sometimes.
  6. So your argument that DeSantis is a Nazi is he asked people to anonymously self report their beliefs? Wow you must think all liberals are Nazi because I am ask similar things in my county, I full it out so the information is there, but then again I am not lying about what I am teaching.
  7. What wording would be in the constitution if women were allowed to write it completely that would matter in the Roe vs Wade argument?
  8. I am all for stopping people who have made open threats against others from being allowed to buy guns, as this guy was known to have done. Illinois could have passed red flag laws like Florida has but they have chosen to blame Indiana. Lastly this act as if there are not a lot of other ways to do the same damage are disingenuous, he could have used a car or a bomb and done similar damage. We have to deal with the wackos.
  9. R vs W was a weak decision according to almost every honest legal scholar, including RBG. It was not a role the SC should have taken since it found a right in the constitution that is not explicitly written, or truly even referred to directly
  10. The SC has a job of interpreting what is in the constitution and deciding if it is being applied through the law that is being presented to them. The fact that so many people think the SC should be deciding law on basically any other standard shows the lack of understanding of the role of the SC in the US.
  11. Do we have lots of stories of prior military shooting up places of work? There is no reason to believe that an ex soldier will suddenly go all crazy simply because he has a gun nearby, I am not sure how you are more concerned about this problem then the problem we actually have of random psychos shooting innocents.
  12. A president pushed to arm all teachers? Dang I would love to see where anyone has says that because you must be room temperature IQ to say that. As for for PTSD I am very ok with additional training of people who want to have a gun on campus but I doubt the people who spent 8 years in Germany have much PTSD. Lastly as for the kid who shot at the cops and then was shot 60 times I will leave you with my favorite sheriff from the next county over- https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/wbna15012086
  13. Seeing as there are at least 4 former military on my campus I would be happy if they were armed. The concept of arming every teacher is stupid but only morons have suggested it, so I don't think you are suggesting that.
  14. I enjoyed the football of the USFL, especially when I accepted that the QB play was going to be questionable at best. The QBs and reciever did get more cohesive during season but I definitely think that that outside the QB that the talent was pretty strong. I watched about 15 games total through the season and I must state the officiating was substantially better than NFL officiating, they seemed to only make calls they saw, not what they think they saw.
  15. I agree I was being flippant, I thought you were being flippant also. Your thought process would blame cars for drunk drivers, knives for stabbing victims, and pens for bad laws.
  16. What is the relevance to what I have said in this thread?
  17. So you can flippantly discuss the death of these people but I mock you for being flippant and i need to "check" myself? Coming from the one of about 4 guys who work so hard to try and make this place suck
  18. The Boston marathon bomber thanks you for supporting him.
  19. You know we had a war to decide the whole whose laws take precedence? This court is simple to determine what direction they will take, does the constitution actually say anything about it? If yes we will stand by it. Your conflating state courts vs the legislators is a completely different discussion and one that is not clearly spell out in the US constitution since it is a state level concern.
  20. So the independent state legislature means the states supercede the authority of the federal government? If you actually believe the SC as currently built will rule that way you have ZERO understanding of what they think or what they believe. If you are simply arguing that they might rule that individual judges can not overturn entire legislatures without a clear backing in law, than you are correct. These are not similar things though and you seem to be confusing them
  21. First thing first- 17th amendment states that Senators are direct elected by the voters, States can't change that now. Secondly NY had the map thrown out because it was against their state constitution. Third the state legislature must still follow federal law, so they can do whatever they want within the law. Lastly Pennsylvania last year broke their own constitution to sent out ballots, so unfortunately the SC might have to rule on how these things get resolved.
  22. Do you literally look for ways to look ignorant? The original constitution was written so that states did not have to allow the average man the right to select the president, only that the state has electoral votes based on size. Until about 1920 the Senate was selected by the State government, not the people at all. I would support an amendment to push that into law but it is definitely not one now.
  23. I started by pointing out it was not a perfect analogy, but also have you watched middle school basketball lately? It would not be nearly the insult you think it is. 🙂
  24. I have an analogy that is less than perfect but will get my point across: my daughter is in middle school and plays for her school and the YMCA. I am her coach at the Y and because of her I am able to play a high pressure defense with the other 4 on the court and just her defending the lane basically in a league where the majority of the baskets are from the foul line or closer. When she is on the court the other teams generally don't score, but she does not block many shots or get a ton of steals, all of her teammates do that and have the stats but she is the reason we won most games by an average of about 28-8. At end of year one of the parents still said the kid who had the most steals was our defensive MVP, when I could have replaced him with so many of the other kids in the league. The entire point of my big diatribe is that when you build an odd defense people who don't understand it think of the positions conventionally, even when they are clearly being asked to do different.
  25. No one has been denied this drug, you are quoting people who are afraid it could happen.
