The lack of ATC nationwide was made much worse because of the DEI hiring practices of the past decade, they did not hire white men for many positions so they could hold them for minorities. To pretend otherwise is to put politics over fixing the problem. A former neighbor was an ATC until a few years ago at Orlando and he told me that they never allowed one person to work alone and in Orlando there was always a spare person doing the other part of an ATCs job, why was there not another person their to assist? This crash was avoidable, and we need to fix it. For the time being I would say no helicopters near the airport and work from there but something must change.

Truly your racism being shown on such an important conversation is crazy. You actually believe that having a black man is the important part, you think the wheelchair is important, I just want competent people and lots of them. I have worked for two separate "DEI" hires, people chosen for their skin and/or gender and both were disasters. I have worked under every race and more women than men, the majority were good to great but when you pick someone due to the things that don't matter to successfully doing the job, failure is what you get.

It is with the expectation that he does not actually finish the contract but it allows maximum flexibility until he retires. I want to lock him up for as long as possible and the Billion number looks good when trying to get other players.

The FAA went to diversity guidelines in 2013/2014 and basically slowed hiring white men at that point. That decision led to the understaffing of flight towers, which the whole country is dealing with right now. In 2005 at Orlando Airport we always had at least one additional person available, because an ATC does more than just the radio part of job at times. If someone got sick that person would jump on to the radio and things would go as normal. If you disagree with the hiring practices look up the old standards vs the Obama standards for the FAA

It's Time to Mandate Vaccines
Orlando Buffalo replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
As I stated we knew in March 2020 who was at risk and in mid 2021 that the shots lasted less than 3 months, for you to call me a liar simply for being more intelligent than you is hilarious. Go find my fight with sundowner in 2021 to see my evidence. I will add in the fact that mandates are required when people are too ignorant to do what is definitely best for themselves. We mandate education for children, because they are ignorat, we mandate drivers license because teens are ignorant, we mandate building codes because people are ignorant about architecture and materials. The shot was not what they claimed and to mandate it was bordering on evil and is at best incompetence of monumental level -
It's Time to Mandate Vaccines

You really aren't making any point then because there has not been any revolutionary data that has come out since early 2021. We knew from the summer of 2021 that the vaccine only lasted 3 months or less, if you disagree look at the discussions I had with sundowner at that time. We knew in March of 2020 it was primarily a killer of the old and those with bad lungs. By the time the mandate came down, in late 2021, all of the large parameter concepts were known, so what extra knowledge have we learned since then? -

There is a lot covered here but it appears you are saying that it is due to lack of knowledge we should have mandated the COVID shot? If I am misreading let me know -
Other questionable games in NFL history
Orlando Buffalo replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am younger than you but your comment is not only not helpful but shows a complete ignorance of the history of football. If someone blames the officials for every loss your comment is valid, but when officials multiple times get the calls wrong and they all go one way then the criticism is valid and that is the point of the thread. The Cotton Bowl I am referring to is famous for its blatant one sided officiating but despite that Syracuse still won. -
Not arguing your point, I heard same, but what specifically was the heads up and where was helicopter pilot told to go. If the helicopter is anywhere near the path of a plane the ATC needs to clear that path and tell the helicopter precisely where to go, there is a lot of bad overlapping mistakes for this to happen.
-
Not sure if this is sarcasm but there should not have been anyway anyone in the control tower allowed that helicopter anywhere near the flight path. No one in that tower just started as an air traffic controller, anyone in DCA has been an ATC for a decade at a minimum. This is entirely on the helicopter pilot most likely, if an ATC was ok with them being there then that person needs to be investigated for criminal neglect

Dexter Lawrence on this DL would be impressive. The other guys I don't think are as good but overall thought is good.

I have no idea if there is a limit on the length of the contract but if I am Bills I offer him 20 years 1 billion total, and I am not kidding. He is easily worth $50 million a year to us. We can simply have the rolling bonus structure that lets us push off the salary cap for years and we as Bills fans will pay the price the year he leaves, which hopefully is around 20 years from now. We basically can lock him up forever and for a reasonable price. Obviously the major concern is an injury, but I still do it.

Other questionable games in NFL history
Orlando Buffalo replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall
The one that bugged me was the PIT-ARI SB where the officials were overturned multiple times on review and then did not review the final minutes fumble(I think fumble). The officials that day did a poor job and then did not slow down to check a game deciding call. You probably believe the 1960 Cotton Bowl was called fairly then? -
This unfortunately is not going to change quickly. The lowest 25% are not forced to try to be better, in fact I have been encouraged to let my top 25% lag in order to assist the lowest 25%. If my school is any indicator I have about 20% who are good at everything, 30% who are good at some of them, and 50% who have accepted that they can't be special and therefore don't need to care.

Not to beat the dead horse more but I have an honest question, if the NFL was fixing the game, but trying to be not obvious, how would the game have been different? It is not questionable whether Josh got the first, it is not a legitimate question if that was really a catch since it clearly hit the ground without full control. At some point the difference between incompetence and corruption is irrelevant because the result is the same, and this game crossed the line since the officials used instant replay and still got it definitely wrong.

The guy has been in office a week now and already we see NYC murders and rapes have dropped drastically, WNC has had more help then the previous 6 months combined, and the government has removed 5% of its work force through cuts or quitting. I know you are trying to find something to grasp but this line is hilarious.

California (again)

Finding people to buy land is never hard if the price is right, and these people are likely to lose a bunch of money if there is a fire sale. -
Is it time to move on from McDermott?
Orlando Buffalo replied to Monty98's topic in The Stadium Wall
All of you that want to get rid of him I ask directly, do you believe Josh got the first down? Do you believe that Worthy truly caught the ball? If you don't think the officials were a big part of the loss I can't argue with you because you don't know football at all. When you have two heavyweights battling those calls decide the game, and both were incorrect and smashed the Chiefs. -
I feel better but I find this statement crazy, everybody I have spoken with agreed that Josh got the first down, literally not one person actually states he was short, so the NFL is happy with a product where the only people without the resources to get the correct answer is the officials. The NFL is happy that I have a better chance and getting the call correct than the officials.
-
Dominate one of the best teams from the past 20 years is a stupid concept to preach. When two heavyweights go at it even competent officiating is often the difference in a tightly called or loosely called game. The first AFCCG we faced them the officials did not call about anything but did it equally, we had to adapt. This game they were incompetent several times and it slanted the KC way each time

I have missed at least 5 SB over the past decade, and much of the playoffs many of those years. The officiating is terrible and makes the games as much about them as the players and that makes the game horrible to watch.
