I am curious if anyone knows for certain- were all the people cancelling reservations for the Jordan Poyer charity event not aware of the location of the event when they signed up? The announcements so far make all the sponsors and players who pulled out seem like garbage people. -
Pasco County School Board passes new phone rules
Orlando Buffalo replied to T&C's topic in Off the Wall
The student who states "teachers don't care" is probably incorrect but we tend to fight battles we can win and often phones are an issue that we lose due to lack of support. also the mom who is in constant contact with her kids, who is very common now, is 99% of the time the mom who defends her child's cheating using the phone. Phones should be be allowed and it is the battle I will have this coming year, wish me luck -
I am serious when I say this, did the leader of the Wagner group make the majority of his money by running "military" operations? The portrayal I have seen is a dude worth 10+ billion all on the backs of wars. If true why do we assume he will be a step up from Putin? The new guy would literally get richer based on fighting longer.

Name a Right Wing Position

For summer school I have become aware of what constitutes the federally mandated lunch. It is pathetically low nutrition and since there are so may hoops they must jump through there is little that can be done to make it better without getting rid federal laws. The district by federal law can't even allow schools to individually make their lunches better. Secondly the amount of waste because the Federal Government requires student to get "fruit or vegetable" is insane. Half the time the fruit is like a fruit cup and the other half it is carrot sticks, which many kids don't like but are required to take. Universal free meals is a boon to the company making the food and a disaster to those of us paying for it. Finally the excess food is not allowed to be given to staff but is required to be thrown away. -

I have two contrary feelings watching this- I. Glad the press is doing there job and this is what a white house press briefing should look like more often, for all presidents. Second feeling is that this is pathetic for all the ones who are pretending that this new information was not already known in 2019 and they lied about to ensure Biden was president. -

You are correct in my getting Salwell and Schiff confused. Schiff and Salwell were omnipresent for a while there and I felt like they were the same guy. I understand you don't like what happened but the censure does not really matter in that he did not lose any real power other than being removed from a committee, which in the grand scheme is gonna help him win his next election -

How weird you think objecting to him giving national security information to a Chinese spy is simply "theater". Seriously don't change you are easy to categorize and predict. -
In FL we had the option of staying home for the 2020-2021 school year and the difference between the kids is substantial even at this point. One of the biggest differences is that kids who were in class had to try and learn on their own while most the kids who stayed home learned how easy it is to cheat by using Google or other software. Many kids understand 80% of what I teach in geometry easily and those with the willingness to finish that other 20% is clearly evident.

What is better, no guns, or more guns?
Orlando Buffalo replied to Security's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
So you believe Jesus was insinuating that we should not stop evil? Interesting take on Jesus. I am quite certain that is not what he meant, especially if you compare it Luke 22:36 -
Speaking of media, here's exhibit A of a lazy, bad trend.

Years ago I heard on a radio show, I think it was Dan Patrick, that ESPN was beat to announce that Tony Dungy was fired by the Bucs, despite having one solid source but the producer at the time did not want to risk it with it only being one source. The host of the show was upset because the source was Tony Dungy himself but the Bucs had not confirmed it. The standard is much lower now. -

What law do you think would have stopped him from killing his children? If no guns do you think he would not have done it? jesus is glad I can protect my family and sleep well at night since I will never have to harm another human since the simple sight of it will stop all stupidity. What do you think Jesus thinks about you protecting murderers at the expense of children? -

In 2010 I worked in Seattle area for several months, technically based on Woodinville, and it was a great place to meet people but the people in the office were odd in a bad way. Literally said to me something similar to concept of that since government allows it therefore it is fine as they tried to abuse my position by trying to make me work 18 hours while only getting paid for 12. It has always stuck with me the amount of times I heard something like the words that the state allows it therefore it is legal. -
We have that in Florida, anyone can be in any class they want, so long as they completed prerequisites, and kids end up with C's and D's who can't compete. At this point it really hard to fail, the only students who failed my class accomplished all these things: at least 40 absent classes, caught cheating on a test, and missed 50% or more of homework. I will repeat they did ALL of these because if you do half the homework and show up everyday with minimal effort you get a D. If you do 80% of the homework and don't cheat the minimum you can get is a C. I had a lot of C's

There are two large realities we must face when trying to improve education in the future: 1) the lockdowns did a huge amount of damage but trying to "repair" that damage is impossible. We go from here trying to set up a solution from here now, not where we were. 2) separating children by academic ability is overall a good thing. Slow kids don't learn because a quicker learner is in the room. Pushing kids who can barely do simple algebra into higher math is detrimental to the lower kids, especially since they might just need more time to get there.

Eat Crow: Your most embarrassing Bills opinions
Orlando Buffalo replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
When the Bills signed Hughes and Dareus I was glad we signed Dareus and thought Hughes ripped us off. I agree with this, his best 3 games were his first 3. Marrone ruined him completely. He never was gonna be Josh good but could have been an effective pro. -

The only time I messed up was when I used a cleaning product that left a residue. The rest of time even if not great it was good enough to enjoy. -
I know, you stated that the vaccine was good for healthy 20 year olds, of which there is no evidence to support.
-
You should pay more attention to Joe and his discussion of vaccine efficacy- there is no evidence that healthy 20 year olds benefit and there is evidence it is causing heart issues.
-
Why do you believe that healthy 20 year olds should get the COVID vaccine?
