  1. Sounds like my life, if you leave out the sound and fury part.
  2. All I know is that the Steelers had an opportunity to beat the Patriots this season. They have the best record this year. What else do they need to do in THIS season?
  3. Mr. Steeler Fan, I have seen pass-happy coaches. I know pass-happy coaches. Pass-happy coaches have run my team's offense. Mr. Steeler fan, Mularkey is no pass-happy coach.
  4. Hmm.. maybe the Panthers should be ranked above the Eagles until the Eagles can beat them in the playoffs?
  5. Yeah, when someone is murdered, that's the perfect time to make fun of their state.
  6. I like the gay one. The one who is very festive.
  7. Um.. don't the Broncos have a 5-5 conference record? If they win out, won't they have a 7-5 conference record? Isn't the best we can do 6-6 in the AFC? Therefore, don't we need Denver to lose?
  8. I believe that the Bills blew a lead in the Rams game, third of the season, one of the many times Tony Banks beat us. Johnson then won the first game of the season and the Wade Phillips era at home against San Francisco. Flutie came in early on in a game at Indy when Johnson went down in week 5.
  9. Pressure leading to a poorly thrown ball, leading to a turnover.
  10. Yeah, I have been on the reverse end of the crowd mentality growing up in a very liberal town and going the other way... I am 22, voted and I really don't care what the numbers were for the rest of my generation. If you don't want to vote, fine. I am not going to force you to do something that is good for you. Besides I don't have full faith in the judgement of people who don't care enough to vote. If P Diddy motivates them to vote, that is pretty lame. It's no one's duty to vote. That's like saying it's someone's duty to take advantage of their freedom of speech. Is spending a half hour to express your opinions the new definition of contributing to society? That's sad. Since I turned 18 I have voted as much as possible. Not just presidential elections, but school board, local, state, primaries, etc.. No one had to motivate me. I took pride in that expressed my opinion, not that fulfilled my civic duty.. geez. People complain about the candidates that the parties throw out there, well, fine, next time try to promote candidates in the primaries that you prefer.... Really, stop talking and start walking. Don't like the system? Do what you can to change it, don't just sit there and complain.
  11. Obviously you folks aren't serious, but anyway.... The real question is when this "trend" first came about. It's pretty easy to try to look back at possible sports/political correlations and then try to make predictions based on that. There's two things here. The Redskins and any other team do better at home than on the road on average. The incumbant party wins more often than it loses... so it's easy to see why these things go together.
  12. It's a lot worse than that. It goes much further than just 75 miles. B/c of the questionable belief that Syracuse stations cut into that radius, it goes significantly further. I have Sunday Ticket in Ithaca and we get blacked out too b/c we are considered to be in the Syracuse TV market. Thus when Syracuse is blacked out, we are blacked out.
  13. My poop was green the other day. I don't why the happens every once in awhile.
  14. What did you do for that year, if you don't mind me asking. I like hearing people's story on how they got their stuff together, it kind of raises my spirits.
  15. Haha, well actually she is a vegetarian too, although I still love her and she isn't the stereotypical all meat-eaters are evil kind of person.
  16. All right, then a follow up question that might be answered by someone on this board. Is anyone here involved in investing sorts of things and living in upstate New York? I mean, is that doable? Also, how does one get involved with a small business. Doing that seems exciting to me.
  17. I've tried to contact a few in Ithaca but so far, there don't seem to have any openings. Would I have to start at teller you think?
  18. Thanks for replying to me. Can I ask a couple of follow up questions? First, what are the names of the temp to perm agencies? Also, you're in Syracuse, what do you do for a living if you don't mind me asking?
  19. Hello All, I am not a regular poster, although I used to post a fair bit awhile back. I hate to just ask questions for my own help, but I am a sort of dilemma and am not sure of where to go, so I have been trying to get as much help as possible. I graduated from school about five months ago. I met my soon to be fiance while at school and found out very early on that she wanted to be a veterinarian. I soon found out that she wants to go to Cornell's Vet School. She didn't get in the first time around, but she was very close and has done a couple of things that I think will get her into the school. I love the girl, and the fact that we are currently apart, she's in New Jersey and I am in the Ithaca area has really depressed me. It also kind of bums me that while I currently am employed in a temp job at a university, it's not what in the stuff I want to be doing and I am not really learning anything at it. Basically, I am doing tech support. It seems to me that there are not really that many good jobs in Ithaca itself, unless you are a professor or something similar at some of the colleges nearby. So I want to work somewhere fairly close by, like within in an hour or so like, Elmira, Binghamton, Syracuse, but I am having problems finding any decent jobs that I am qualified for or that look like they could help me start a decent career. I am not a pure sales-commission job kind of guy, but I have interest in business and investing/finance types of things (as well as media from my time at the student radio station) and would love to just start something small to learn the ropes if I have to. I just don't see the opportunities. I don't know too many people in the cities or areas I mentioned, so I am not sure where to start. I have looked at monster and careerbuilder and occasionally at the Post Standard Want Ads, but I haven't seen anything that looks right. I know the economy in Upstate New York has hit a lot of rough patches and I think it's evident by how many people have moved from New York State to other places on this board. But I want to be with my future-wife, or close to her, while she goes through vet school. We have gone out for four years and I know she's the one. I also love it in upstate New York as I like the changing of the seasons, I like the people here and I am a small-town kind of guy. Maybe what I am looking to do is pretty hard, but maybe there are opportunities are just am not seeing. I know everyone has their own problems, and I hate to seem like a whiner or something here, but people here seem like smart folks who know the area and might be able to point me in the right direction in some way.
  20. Hello Folks, Have been here in a long while but I am hoping that someone can help me out. I will likely be moving down to central NJ in the near futue, Monmouth County area. Anyway from there? Are there bars to watch the Bills game at? Thanks for your help.
