  1. One of the reasons why the Bills had success in the 90s was their lack of players like Gerard Warren.
  2. Dude, everyone decent QB out there wants to compete for a starting job but there isn't necessarily enough starting spots or 1A spots for these guys. Eventually many of them will realize this and accept a starting job behind a young QB who has a high risk of being injured.
  3. He is tempting especially since he can also return kicks and has thrown the ball well on some trick plays, but I have my doubts about players that BB has given up on.
  4. It would make sense given the loss of PW to consider this, but Gray runs a modified 46 defense and I doubt he has the experience yet to change.
  5. Did anyone ever reveal if the Bills were going to pick Joey H. if the Lions hadn't at the threespot? I wonder if we would have been better or worse of with Harrington.
  6. PW dealt? Do you mean we sign and trade him?
  7. Hmm.. when was Jeff Posey signed? That was like the first one in the NFL that year.
  8. I for one have much love for everyone here and all who used to be here except PromoTheRobot, b/c robots make me sh-t myself. No offense, Promo, but I am afraid of you.
  9. Wasn't there like both an Ice and Black Ice? I miss them both.
  10. Not trying to be an ass, but I think it's 2003 to which you are referring.
  11. From CNNSI March 1st: Jay Fiedler is interested in becoming Eli Manning's backup. But first he wants to see if he can find a starting job someplace else. He could draw some interest from Cleveland if the Browns can't re-sign Kelly Holcomb, but beyond that there aren't many open starting jobs. Giants coach Tom Coughlin likes Fiedler, whom he coached in Jacksonville in 1999, and has the 33-year-old at the top of his backup quarterback wish list. -- New York Daily News It appears the Giants will not be battling with the Jets for Fiedler, but they are competing with the Bears for his services. -- New York Post Brad Johnson joins a few other prominent veteran quarterbacks, Warner and Garcia, on the free agent market. Arizona, Chicago and Detroit appear set to compete to sign Warner, the two-time league most valuable player who is primed to leave the New York Giants after one season mentoring Eli Manning. The Lions, Denver Broncos and perhaps the Buccaneers could be in the running to sign Garcia. -- Washington Post The Lions are mulling the merits of signing Kurt Warner, or Jeff Garcia, or Brad Johnson, someone who can push incumbent Joey Harrington but not push him too hard, yet push him hard enough to make him better, unless he can't get better, in which case the backup had better be good enough to start. -- Detroit News
  12. I am not in the Bledsoe-hating camp either. I am excited about the prospect of a new offensive look to the team, but I was not and am still not sure that was the right decision. I would have preferred both be on the team, but that was not to be.
  13. Yeah, I agree but I think we would be in that situation whether or not Bledsoe was still the QB.
  14. But last year we were coming off a 6-10 season, worse than the year before. Were we really seen as a team on a rise last year? Maybe after Bledsoe's first year i.e 2002 (2003 offseason), when we signed Spikes this was the case, but I have my doubts about last year. Losman is a second year player, not a rookie. Not to be nit-picky, but this is an important difference.
  15. The difference between Driscoll and Edgar is that Edgar is actually useful.
  16. Better than NFL Europe!
  17. Andre Ware isn't available?
  18. The Secretary of Defense is not involved in the terrorist plot. He's there to be the administration's man on the scene. Last time I checked, Michael Moore wasn't a writer on this show.
  19. I think the whole the prototypical QB has changed stuff is overblown. Most the best QBs are still the classic drop back and pass QB. Bledsoe's failings deal with not be able to make decisions right, not being able to feel the rush, and not being able to hit the short passes. If being able to scramble is so good, why did Rob Johnson constantly get sacked. He was extremely athletic and would often get big gains running. He is not the only so-called mobile QB that had problems with the rush.
  20. Yeah, seriously. Huge public works projects won't solve the economic woes, lower taxes will. Not to say that infrastructure isn't important, but ferries I have some doubts about. Although my sister and brother in law live up in Pittsford and go to Canada a fair bit and seemed to enjoy it.
  21. All MM and TD need to do here is to say to prospective QBs they bring it in that they will be a backup and will not be competing for the job. Things may change in the future, but they shouldn't expect to start besides injury. Players who expect to start will be okay with this and want to sign with the team, players who expect to start won't be.
  22. I think it is a bad sign that if we would be bringing in worst backup QBs in order to protect Losman from a controversy.
  23. There are just too many draft moves that look bad in hindsight to count, especially when you start saying this team shouldn't have passed on this or that guy.
  24. Anyone have relevant sack numbers for him?
  25. I assume you mean Lawrence Philips? It seems your list is weighted a little too heavily towards recent history.
