  1. I completely agree with your take, OP. He's a fantastic pass coverage LB. One thing that's hard to quantify is how many passes never get thrown over the middle by opposing teams because he's in good position to make a play (and also just a huge human being). He plays his pass coverage assignment really well and makes a big difference in the middle. Considering you have to pass to win in this league, especially in the playoffs, that's the most important attribute for his role in the Bills defense. He is very good sideline to sideline as you pointed out, but he also often over pursuses on offtackle runs and gets washed out of the play too easily. You're also correct that he doesn't fill the gap and stuff RBs like a Ray Lewis or a Roquan Smith. He's gotten a lot better vs. the run though and has great hustle. Overall, he's a huge asset for us because of his pass coverage skills. Not every player is going to be great at everything, but overall he's very good for us.
  2. I think a lot of fans have unrealistic expectations. Anything less than an absolutely perfect performance in all phases is overly dissected and debated. All great teams have bad drives, quarters, halves, and even whole games. Great teams even (gasp) LOSE on occasion. The talent parity in the NFL is so close from top to bottom. The Bills are one of the best teams in the league, but they can make mistakes and be beat. The obsession with "power ranking" the league by both fans and the media after every single week has gotten really tiresome at this point. We have a great team... just sit back and enjoy the ride!
  3. The high water mark of the Marrone era! Great recap of that game. It was an amazing win, and Mario was unstoppable. He was a great Bill and should be remembered fondly!
  4. The hit on Dane was very unfortunate. I tend to think he needs to be a little more in control there, but it's hard to place too much blame on him. It was a really unfortunate accident. He is really something in pass pro, and he's coming around on the run defense finally. This was an outstanding tackle in particular
  5. I’d say that’s a safe bet
  6. Possibly true to an extent, but him overthrowing high several times (a few of which resulted in picks) was not the result of him throwing a timing route that the receiver was not in position for. That's just a miss on the QB. And he threw high numerous times... badly.
  7. Yes, in 2021. I think he showed his age quite a bit in 2022. He wasn't getting open like he used to. I like the guy, but I'm not convinced he's the same asset he was for Josh when he first arrived. At his price, I think the Bills can better use the money elsewhere.
  8. It was nothing short of perfection. So yes. You can’t be better than perfect.
  9. One of the best picks I’ve ever seen. Looked like Willie Mays covering that closing distance to make an incredible catch!
  10. He’s been really incredible the past few weeks and especially last night. I still hope they get another quality back soon to push him and share carries, but he’s proven he can be a really effective lead back. His vision and awareness last night was incredible. Exact right cut at the exact time, following blockers, letting the play develop... really something.
  11. Not on the agenda this trip. That place is incredible though. Playa Norte is one of the most incredible beaches I’ve ever seen. Love the scene down there in general! Sorry to hear about your gut! I can pretty much set my watch to getting some kind of stomach issue every time I go to Mexico lol. Hopefully it won’t be THAT bad this time. Go Bills.
  12. Nice. we’re jumping on a plane at 6am Sunday morning for Cozumel. Don’t think I’ll be sleeping before we need to leave for the airport. Hope it’s because of overwhelming joy and not crushing depression.
  13. Old habits die hard... we’re in the playoffs man. Save it.
  14. Their run is over.
  15. All time great Bill. Great career. He’s not putting up sack numbers, but he’s still effective this year. There’s more to rushing the passer than just sack stats. He still collapses the pocket and keeps QBs from escaping outside.
  16. It’s actually impressive how bad Feliciano has been. It’s not easy to be that noticeably bad from the guard spot. He’s not just playing “below average.” He’s being completely dominated and committing mental errors/costly penalties on top of it. Incredibly bad.
  17. Feliciano is just a total liability out there.
  18. I don't see anyone here actually in an uproar about Manny Sanders being at the bar, but just to the hypothetical individual out there who might be tempted to feel that way, just a few thoughts: He is a grown man and can do whatever he wants. You are not a Bills coach or in any way involved in the organization. You have no need to stress yourself worrying about what potential curfews or team rules that may or may not exist. You are just a fan, and as a fan, this is so dope. If you are one of the cool people who made the trip to Nashville and got to party with Sanders for a few minutes in this bar, you rock.
  19. There's no way he's coming back without a big new contract. I don't think the Bills have the cap space for this. Not worth it. There will be other needs to fill in the offseason that need to be accounted for. I doubt a high priced veteran CB coming off injury fits the McBeane plan.
  20. I went to a few concerts this summer where proof of vaccination was required. It was easy and didn't cause any delays. Someone looks at your card or a picture of your card on a phone and your ID before you hit the normal security and metal detectors. The vac check did not slow the line down at all. It's still the normal security going through the mags where the hold up is. So, not a "***** show" at all. I mean maybe if someone decided to throw a tantrum or give an angry ted talk to the person checking cards about their opposition to vaccines it would slow things down, but when people act like adults who had enough common sense to look up the entry policy before they arrived, it seems to be pretty seamless.
  21. Played all 4 years of college ball at defensive end. D-III. It definitely made me aware of how your body reacts much differently to age/injury playing the game than it did in high school. It also leaves me amazed that NFL players have a 4 game preseason, 16 game regular season, followed by even more playoff games. It's crazy. I think a 14 game schedule with 1-2 preseason games would be much better, personally. Too many key players are banged up for the playoffs/super bowl these days. But they'll never shorten the season, of course, because $.
  22. Yeah, that's true. They went to sleep a bit after getting up 14. That happened several times early in the year when the offense built a big lead in the first half, too. Haven't seen it in awhile. Hopefully that was the wakeup call they needed.
  23. I agree that it was good for them to face adversity. Honestly, I think they were a little too amped up at times, especially early in the game. The team seemed to settle in as things went on for the most part. I'm hoping they are calm and confident coming out on Saturday. They just need to stay loose and do what they've done all year!
  24. I’m hoping it just might be in the back of the refs minds that they owe the Bills one for this next game.
