God that was heartbreaking to read. All love to the Pegulas. They are such great people, and I am so thankful for all they've done for organization, community, and fanbase. I hope Kim can recover further. There was so much love in here. This was the worst part to read: "My mom is the president and owner of both the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills. She loved to work. She did everything and our family constantly told her how she needs to slow down and take time for herself. She was the woman behind my dad’s success and my dad would happily admit that. She jumped into this journey with him and learned many lessons along the way, breaking a lot of barriers. She was the shift in culture, positivity, and the heartbeat of many of the employees. She gave everyone so much of her time and effort. She lived it and loved it, and it was felt by everyone she met. Now we come to the realization that all of that is most likely gone. That she won’t be able to be that person anymore."

Super Bowl. As long as JA is QB we will compete every year. I hope Beane puts the pieces around him (i.e. basically a whole new offensive line) that will have us better positioned come divisional round next year.

Dawkins, Saffold and Knox added to Pro Bowl
DC Greg replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
We've reached the "who wants to come" phase of the pro bowl invite process. -
Saffold said guys were "exhausted" this week and "out of gas"
DC Greg replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Saffold was out of gas after week 2. -
I’m not really sure I see the comparison here. Because they’ve whiffed on picks and misevaluated D-line picks in past drafts they’re more likely to misevaluate high O-line picks because… they both have “line” in the name? Doesn’t make any sense. They’re as likely to whiff on a pick for any position. It could happen with whatever WR you want too. I agree that their philosophy of trying to get a ton of D-lineman with high picks that could be used rotationally was flawed. More so because Epenesa and Basham suck relative to their draft position, and the jury is still out on Rousseau too. I don’t think that’s comparable to the O-line at all. You’re looking for every down starters there, not rotational players. And Josh can no longer operate with the type of protection he had this year. Everything on offense starts with the blocking up front. Whatever skill position player you want drafted is 1) as likely to be a bust as any other pick and 2) won’t be effective if josh can’t get them the ball because he was pressure in his face every play. Our O-line is one of the worst in the league. Josh is the only reason they won’t look worse. He masks how bad they truly are with his ability. And the only good parts (Dawkins and Morse) need replacements drafted NOW. Don’t expect their level of ply to continue beyond another year. All 5 positions on the line need revamped either immediately or within a year or two. Again, just my opinion, but I think they need to spend almost the entire draft revamping the O-line.

it would be a thing of beauty. He didn’t have a clean pocket all year. Every play is a jailbreak.

Please go OL, OL, and OL in rounds 1, 2, and 3. Josh can't continue to have pressure in his face every play or take big hits all the time. He can get a lot more out of mediocre skill position talent than any other QB, but we have to protect him. It's been neglected for too long. Just shore up the OL. I don't care if they just do that and try to work with what we have at WR. It's much more important to adequately protect Josh IMO.

This is a great list, OP. There's plenty of reason to be hopeful. My biggest hope (or concern if it doesn't happen) is what the players do in the offseason. Will Josh bring everyone together again for extra work? Will he recommit himself to putting in extra time on his mechanics? I think they need that type of all-in commitment again. And I'm hopeful that Beane will draft offensive lineman, they'll sign Edmunds to a long term deal, and more. I'm glad they won't be the presumptive Super Bowl favorites going into next year. I think that will be a good place for the team to be in, and I hope it motivates them

Are the Bills committed to Ed Oliver in 2023?
DC Greg replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm glad we have his option to see if he can take the next step, but if his play remains around this level, they shouldn't be tying up big money in him. That cap space would be much better allocated elsewhere. -
This is my take. Too many soft asses hanging their heads during that game in that second half. Diggs wasn’t going out with his tail between his legs. He was still playing to win. Can’t say that for everyone on the squad yesterday. Pathetic effort all around.
-
Trade Diggs for assets and go to a more controlled ground game.
DC Greg replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall
GTFO of here with this nonsense. Diggs is the one player on the team who showed heart yesterday. He didn't hang his head and was still trying to win the game in the second half in spite of how bad things were going. Not only is he a top 5 NFL WR, he's one of the few true winners on the squad. We need him and we have to hope the rest of the team stops feeling sorry for themselves when things don't go well like he does. Sack the F up and play ball like a professional, like Stefon Diggs. -
And now stubhub is largely a nonfactor since Ticketmaster implemented their own resale platform directly integrated into the same place you buy the tickets in the first place. Sure stubhub, tick pick, seatgeek, etc still exist, but the vast majority of inventory for resale is now just on the mother ship. Even with the fees, it's very rare that I'll see better prices on any of those other third party sites anymore. More people resell on TM now, so there's more competition on there. Seems I'm always finding the best resale prices on TM these days, whether I'm buying for a game a few days in advance or watching the prices fall in the minutes before game time (this is way more common for other sports and stadiums outside of Highmark, by the way. There are a lot fewer people who adjust the prices of their tickets for Bills games and try to sell or buy last minute. One big factor being that the internet/service sucks and makes it hard to do around the stadium last minute on game day!)

Will your respect for Tom Brady change when he retires?
DC Greg replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall
It is truly hard to believe that this will ever be approached let alone eclipsed. Personal stats, sure. But 10 super bowl trips and 7 victories for a single QB? I have a hard time believing we'll ever seen anything like that again in the modern NFL. It's incredible, and I think it will only become more incredible in time when great QBs come and go over the next few decades and maybe make it to 3 or 4 and win 2-3. No one is ever winning 7 again. -
I need to know more about how this affects the Bills before developing my opinion. Does Bass use this and benefit from it? If so, it's no big deal and everyone should relax. If he doesn't, all these cheating bums on other teams should be punished to the maximum extent of the law and all their teams' past super bowl victories vacated.

Run game really picked up late in the season. And it's no coincidence that it was when Dorsey and co. decided to give Cook a real share of the touches. He's been gashing defenses.
-
Dang. I was hoping the secret season ticket holder presale code would be "gobills2022" again

It's not a bad comparison. Especially if you think about it as in they make watching the game of football more fun for fans than any other player in the league. We're so lucky we get to watch this guy every Sunday. I'll take the good with the bad any day. He's awesome to root for, and he's an amazing talent.

I can't wait for the new stadium.

This is the most perfect description of a Murph call I've ever read

Gonna throw this out there and then duck lol. Pass rush.
DC Greg replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall
We've just got to protect the franchise. Josh Allen is going to make magic happen with whatever weapons are at his disposal, but he can't always do it if pressure is in his face immediately. I hope they go OL-OL in the first two rounds. There's usually good value in those spots for potential quality starters. The OL needs fixed in a big way. -
Do you think CBS will pull Romo and Nantz off Bills-Fins?
DC Greg replied to Dan Darragh's topic in The Stadium Wall
And yet somehow this is on 3 pages of discussion -
Don't look now, but Bills rounding into playoff shape.
DC Greg replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's never perfect, but they just keep finding ways to win. They've got as good a shot as anyone at this thing. Keep it rolling boys!
