This kid is a straight playmaker. You can’t teach the instinct he has for the ball. Will he get overpowered on some runs? Probably. But his ability to create turnovers and big plays in space far outweighs that. He can turn a game with his play. What an eye for defensive/coverage talent McD has!

It was a thing to behold. It was at least 50/50, but maybe 60/40 Bills fans. Amazing. Great win all around, but I would love to see Kincaid be a bigger part of the game plan. He was open multiple times today and didn’t get a look. Offense needs to focus on getting him the ball more instead of what they’re trying to do with Harty.

Bills fans will be well represented in the stadium on Sunday, that’s for sure! There is A LOT being organized around here right now. There are a lot of Bills fans in the DMV, and it seems like a lot of folks have pegged this one as a travel game.

Yes he played like a total head case last night, but I do believe that’s also a product of him being overcoached to do things that don’t come naturally to him. He’s shown how talented he is. I don’t have to explain to a bills fan how incredible he has proven he can be. And if the offensive coaches aren’t getting that out of him, they need to try someone else. Maybe it’s not all their fault, but you have to try someone who can work with the superstar talent you have at QB. Whatever Dorsey is doing with him is not clicking.
-
Sorry Ken, but the axe has to fall on someone if this continues. Josh is a world class talent, and if he starts failing like this consistently, you have to try someone new to work with him. He’s too talented to just let flounder. Sometimes it just doesn’t click between coaches and certain players even if it’s not all the coach’s fault.

But if he had a stud RB, could he even make clean handoffs to him without fumbling?

Excellent Locked on Bills podcast today 8/30

I did not realize how tight Kirksey is with Hyde and Poyer. That’s awesome to hear. Gotta think that helps. -
I'm glad they cut bait if a player isn't going to pan out. If Kingsley is outplaying him and this means he makes the 53, awesome. It's great to have a GM that won't be scared to admit a mistake and will make sure the best players make the roster. At the same time, it's more than fair to question Beane's drafts. Way too many late first/second/third round misses. Whoever is scouting these picks or whoever is the main driver for taking them needs to take a step back in the draft room. Time for some changes there... or maybe there already have been? Looks like we (hopefully) nailed a game changing playmaking tight end and a starting offensive lineman this year. If those pan out, whoever is advising Beane on that front needs to be empowered more.

Oh I agree with that. OL was atrocious last year and is the biggest problem this team has right now. Hopefully we've improved at Guard at least, and that will help interior short yardage runs. Seems like running behind Torrence and Morse should work, and Brown is actually a pretty good run blocker too. But we're in big trouble in pass pro with our line. I hope they figure something out because Allen just can't always make magic happen with the rush in his face immediately every time he drops back. It's also on Dorsey to scheme up more 3-step, quick hitting type passes there. You have great route runners in Diggs and Kincaid and Davis to a somewhat lesser extent. More slants, bubble screens, and timing routes please... just get the ball out.

I'm talking more about those goal line or 3rd/4th and short situations. You're not really going to ever get a real "hole" opened up there. There's going to be contact immediately at the line of scrimmage, and what I'm talking about is having a back that can power through initial contact to get you those few yards or inches you need to score or get the first. Some backs are more powerful than others and have a downhill running style that can get that through contact. Singletary had many good qualities to his game, but that wasn't really one of them. We need a guy who will hit the line full speed and lower the shoulder (or dive over the line... I don't care! Just someone who can get you the yard when you need it). I'm hoping Harris or Murray or whoever can provide that, because the Bills have really sucked in those situations for awhile now.

Yep. He's been a very serviceable piece to the O-line for many years now. I don't believe he's elite at the position... Josh does help mask a lot of deficiencies on the O-line across the board. I am VERY worried that his play is going to fall off a cliff at some point, which would be a huge problem. I think we kind of take this position for granted, but when age catches up with him and he loses a step (or goes down with an injury), we're in trouble there. We already need the chipping back/TE or extra blocker on the right side with turnstile Brown.

"Welcome to the League, punk." - Kyle Williams -
So brave.

Again, I believe this is very common for veterans of his caliber. They are multimillionaire professionals, not a high school team. They don't need to sleep in bunk beds together to be effective on the field. I am sure Diggs will gel just fine when they get to mandatory workouts and camp. The new offensive weapons are the ones who need the OTAs to gel with Allen and to learn the offense. Diggs is set... he's earned taking these off if he wants to imo.
-
Can't wait until Diggs lights it up yet again this year. He will play with everything he's got every snap because that's who he is - a world class competitor. I could care less that he isn't at voluntary OTAs. He's an established veteran and this not unusual at all across the league for guys of his caliber. Do you guys who think this is a big deal follow any other teams besides the Bills? I guarantee you no one on the team cares about this. Also re: the Cincy game, at least we had one guy on the field who wasn't going to hang his head and throw in the towel. You want guys like that. He and Josh and the other leaders will push each other and hold each other accountable. They all do it in their own way. I'm thankful Diggs never quits and always has that fire.

Ridiculous post. This isn’t the NBA. You’re never a player or two away. So much has to click in football and a lot of it is good luck at the right few moments in the playoffs, where it’s win or go home, not a 7 game series. We’re going to compete for a championship every year Josh Allen is healthy and at the helm. Relax.
-
Well… that’s just good clean all-American fun right there.

Bad look for Bills fans, for sure. Have some class ffs.

Very well said here. People seem to be a little confused about the value that players (especially mediocre ones) have in the final year of their deals. This isn't MLB/NHL. No one wants rentals. Ed Oliver has much more value to us playing this year for the Bills and seeing what happens.

RD 5, Pick 150: WR Justin Shorter, Florida

He looks a lot like Gabe Davis running routes. -
100% here. O-line really needs to be improved. Just protect the superhuman we have playing the QB position and let him be special. He's proven he can do that. Sure, it would be nice to have some more elite skill players, but building a stout o-line with multiple high picks in the next couple drafts should be the foremost priority.

I’d like to see the Bills bring back Shaq Lawson and pay him fairly.

Hell no to edge at 27. They've tried to hit in that range repeatedly and have largely failed. All the Rousseaus, Epenesas, and Bashams aren't the game changing players we hoped they may be. They're important players for the team, but they've neglected offense in the draft for too long. I think they just need to focus on protecting Allen by drafting o lineman and/or finding him a useful skill player or two. On D, hopefully Von is back at 100% and helps create a viable pass rush. In any case, I think they have to roll with what they have in that area for the most part and try to build up an offense that is good enough to overcome what will probably be a defense poised to get passed on a lot more than the past few years. There's no sure thing edge that late in the first that's worth the pick anyways... almost always, all of the premium, NFL ready pass rush talent is gone in the first 20 picks. Great interior o-lineman, RTs, and solid WR prospects will still be there at 27, however. They need to build this team around Allen now. -
Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?

But are they eating wings at Duffs? If not, it's just a smokescreen.
