We're definitely seeing the same things OP. I'm encouraged by the progress we've seen over the course of the year considering all the injuries. It's a whole new system, new coaches, new QB... it takes time to get it down. But things are coming along, and a HUGE part of that has been Shady's ability to establish the running game for us. Really cannot overstate how much of a difference that has made to this offense. That was an amazing trade on Whaley's part (although I'm kind of wishing we had given them Woods instead of Alonso). I'm also baffled that we don't try bubble screens to Sammy... at all. He gets a cushion from corners on a lot of plays. There should just be some sort of audible system where on first or second down,Tyrod has the option to check it to a screen to Sammy if they're in the right formation (i.e. a slot receiver is on his side that can block) and the defense is giving him a cushion. Watkins was just too damn good with the ball in his hands and especially on screens at Clemson not to try this at least once a game. He's more than a deep threat receiver, and we should be getting him more touches. It's frustratingly similar to how HackMarrone refused to try screens with CJ. He was a beast on them with Gailey, but some coaches are more wedded to their vision than what actually works. Hoping Roman will continue to make adjustments.

I like that he cut his hair! Sometimes a new haircut makes you feel like a whole new man! I know it's petty, but Fitz's beard really started to piss me off in his final years here. I've been wondering since the season started why Mulligan was on the roster. For someone who is useless as a skill player and is supposedly there to block, he was been pretty bad at that. Missed a number of key blocks this year and some very costly penalties.

Don't think you could be more wrong here. Darby blankets receivers and comes up and makes tackles. Receivers rarely get YAC after he makes contact. Couple of plays on Sunday where the ball was thrown right at the sticks and the receiver had to get about a half a yard more for the first, but Darby was there immediately and brought them down for no YAC. He's made some great plays on balls in the air, but yes, sometimes corners do get beat while the ball is in the air. Happens to all of them. The kid has been great.

Yeah... I fail to see how this is a punishment. Try to hide their inability to call the game by placing them in a different game and screwing over some other teams who aren't in primetime? Great job NFL. Definitely holding yourselves accountable.

Lot of experts here! I'd definitely be interested in having him on the Bills. Would he go somewhere to be a backup? I suppose he might have to. Depending on how Tyrod finishes the year, he would likely have a good chance to compete here. Might be one of his best options. I don't know the contract particulars, but if it were possible to bring him in on the cheap, why not? Another arm to try out in preseason with the Bills system. If he fails, you cut him. If they can get him here, I don't see why we wouldn't give him look.

Roman really did not inspire today. Between letting the clock run down while not getting plays in, to running or throwing short on every single first down, the game plan was disappointing. They showed signs of life on O, but they failed to make any adjustments in game at all. And there were open routes downfield all game. Can't excuse Tyrod for missing some of those, as well. Overall, they didn't capitalize on a number of big opportunities that were there. You can get away with that vs. the Jets. Not vs. the Pats

He is nothing like Trent Edwards, in any facet of his play. Sorry to call you out, but do you watch any other football besides the Bills? In seeking an insulting comparison of a quarterback you can only go to Buffalo Bills QBs of the past 10 years? You can't be sure there. Depends on what he is coached to do. I think Roman has him coached to wait for the play call and for the booth upstairs to analyze the D every time.
