  1. While all of that may be true, my main point is that shouldn't he have known that this would be an issue, and didn't he put vocally supporting his candidate above not creating an unnecessary distraction for the team? Of course he has the right to speak out about his political beliefs. No one should be against that. But my question is, do we want a coach that places that above concerns for team chemistry and can't think ahead to how these type of things may create an issue? To me, that's what it he did here. Typical Rex IMO. I do hear the argument that you should do your job no matter what, but there's a certain reality to this situation that needs to be acknowledged. Is Rex putting team success on the line here by creating an unnecessary distraction? Bill Belichick is a HUGE tea partier and conservative, be he knows better than to show up at Trump rallies because it is a distraction from winning football games.
  2. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/10/06/bills-reportedly-have-a-trump-related-schism/ I don't know if it's possible to separate the political talk from the football talk, but I do think this is related to the Bills on the field and deserves to be discussed. If folks could put their politics aside, can we have a discussion about whether or not our head football coach should be endorsing candidates and attending rallies regardless of party affiliation? Why risk alienating the locker room on either side? If your main concern is truly about winning and bringing a championship to Buffalo, then why even step into the fray? To me, this is just another example of Rex being more about himself than the team and his recklessness as a coach.
  3. Uhhhhh.... the what?
  4. Is this a real thread? People are fretting about wild card tie-breaker scenarios right now and whether the Bills have the upper hand in that department after week 3? Take it easy Champ. Maybe sit the next couple plays out.
  5. He is and always has been a beast. One of the great Bills of the last decade, and still playing at an extremely high level.
  6. Yeah, now that we've lost many of the key pieces for his 4-3 D, NOW let's go ahead and give him the HC nod. Don't get me wrong, I'd be in favor of it, but it would be such a Bills move.
  7. Should have given him the HC job. He turned around a defense from one of the worst in the league to one of the very best. Pegula should have rewarded that success with a promotion and hired from within. Instead, he tried to make a big splash by getting the big name loud mouth to show he meant business. Players actually loved and respected Scwartz. Under Rex, players just like that they can get away with things and he's easy on them, which is often falsely portrayed to mean Rex is a "player's coach". No, he is just an undisciplined and loose coach, which is far worse than being a hardass disciplinarian.
  8. Mainly just people who don't know what they're watching. You're correct.
  9. But keep up the good work you're doing on the other side Rob/Rex! Everything is just fine there!
  10. Not really sure how you've made that determination about him, but OK.
  11. Wholeheartedly agree. We have not committed to the run at all. Roman's play calling has been predictable, as well. Truth. Good point.
  12. Shady has been one of the few bright spots in the first two weeks. He's done great with the carries he's been given (few), he's made some great cuts/moves to get extra yards, and he's turned a few busted plays into positive yardage. You're mad because he gets met behind the line by defenders and gets tackled? Show me the holes he's missed please. He's done everything he can in this crap offense so far.
  13. Wow. Woods was wide open. Walk in TD. Just can't miss someone that open.
  14. Why did we cut Felton and keep the fake gronk again?
  15. Unprepared. Not ready to play. That's coaching.
  16. That pick is huge. Definitely will be the biggest contribution EJ has made to the franchise. I agree to keep him then let him walk for that.
  17. After Jacksonville last year, don't think it could be much worse. EJ's NFL experience isn't a plus. It has only exposed his serious deficiencies to NFL defenses and coaches and made him easier to game plan against. I'd rather roll with Cardale and let him get experience.
  18. I'd rather watch this team go 0-16 than have Greg Hardy on our roster. I don't expect every NFL player to be an angel, and I'm all for second chances, but seriously... screw that guy. Would make me sick to my stomach to see him wearing our uniform.
  19. I think this is correct. It hurts to lose Ragland and Shaq, but honestly it would be hard for the defense to step much further back on the run and the pass rush than they already did last year. If the offense takes another step forward, they'll be OK. That's far from certain, but if they do they can compensate.
  20. NFL helicopter parents... lol.
  21. Misleading statistics. The games where there are >30 throws are often coming as a result of getting down by two or more scores in the second half. That team then has to throw a ton to try and make up the difference. So they were already much more likely to lose before the passing attempts started to get up there. The Patriots win if Tom throws a lot, a little, and everything in between. He is not a good comparison for this statistic.
  22. WADE!! (and probably Wade alone. Maybe Mularkey, but he quit)
  23. I'd rather listen to paint dry than listen to John Murphy. Is this really the best they we can do? I'm a Nats fan also, and FP Santangello and Bob Carpenter make their games sound 1000x more exciting... and it's baseball.
  24. Is that you Ben Carson?? Kidding aside, don't think this falls under political correctness. I think it's media and social media to a large extent taking someone's words out of context. I agree with that. Not sure who was "offended" by Doug's remarks or thought they were politically incorrect. Think we're confusing terms a bit here.
  25. Is there a thread for this already? Whaley's comments "Humans are not supposed to play football" is trending all over social media. http://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/05/buffalo-bills-doug-whaley-football-violent-humans-play
