  1. I'm intrigued. But Beane wouldn't do it.
  2. I mean, Beasley is baby sized. So that's probably a running joke in the locker room. Plus Josh Allen is dad, so there's that too. https://twitter.com/BUFSportsTalk/status/1309571204978802690?s=20
  3. As long as JA stays healthy, that's not happening. As you said, he is not Trentative. He's as far from that as you can get. He won't let the team go in the tank, even if there are some tough losses here and there.
  4. They could win that division at 7-9
  5. Why don’t they ever check out of blitzes on D? Offense will hard count, linebackers will tip their hand where they’re coming from, offense clearly makes an adjustment, then the Bills still bring the same blitz. Frazier has to have them checking out of blitzes sometimes.
  6. Screw em. I bet they think Tyrod Taylor was or is still a better QB than Allen.
  7. I’d definitely be fine with less read option. But they should definitely design some 3 and 5 step QB draws on first and second downs that give him the option to just hit the dirt if the space to run isn’t there. Those type of plays force them to keep defenders home across the middle, opening up more downfield. Mix in a few run/pass option sprint outs, and then of course JA will just take off when there’s an opportunity to do so. Running is a huge part of his game, and he’s great at it. He’s getting much better at not taking big hits. And dude is still a tank. He can take a tackle.
  8. If Josh Allen isn’t a running quarterback, there’s no such thing as a running quarterback. Yeah he needs to be sure to secure the ball and protect himself, but he is a one of a kind playmaker with his legs. I’m glad they let him play his game. It’s what makes him good.
  9. Yeah... no one's really mentioned yet that he was shouting out the Bills specifically. Apparently he's a Bills fan above the other NY teams, just like Mario was.
  10. Some people say a cucumber tastes better pickled.
  11. I’m really stewing over how stupid and costly Oliver’s penalty was. The way he got up showboating to when he didn’t even make the play, just came in with a cheap shot, has really left a bad taste in my mouth.
  12. The whole story was a lie anyways.
  13. Making the playoffs, yes... but much more than that, the publicity we’re getting for breaking the drought, the celebration videos, the airport welcome, the locker room after the Dalton TD, the Dalton foundation donation, and everything else is going to get players’ attention. I think the word is starting. to spread about how Buffalo has a intimate football culture that no other city has. The money for a player is always going to be the primary factor, but we may be gaining a better edge for the right type of “process” free agents.
  14. A lot of really good takes in here. I hadn’t given much thought to Hauschka or Dawkins, but when you think about how different the outcomes of games could have been without their contributions, it’s hard to not put them on the short list at the very least. Shady is an obvious choice, but I’m still sticking with Tre and the secondary overall.
  15. If you had to pick one player who contributed the most THIS SEASON to our success in ending the drought, who would it be? My pick is Tre White. If I was picking a unit, it’s the secondary without a doubt. Their play all season has been outstanding. It’s a tough call between Hyde, Poyer, and White for me, but I think it’s White. Tre has been played at an extremely high level every play this season. He’s all over the field, always in position, he’s a big play machine, and his positive attitude and leadership have been infectious with the rest of the team. With the quality of NFL QBs and wide receivers these days, corner is one of the most important positions on the field. It’s rare to see one as consistently good as White. I don’t think we’re in the playoffs without him.
  16. I had no idea Darby was from Gaithersburg!
  17. Wearing my Bills knit cap on the metro this morning, I was greeted with Buffalove from two WNY expats
  18. This. I agree it was stupid to spend a high first round pick on yet another RB for the Bills, but saying he was a bad player is just wrong. He was one of the best RBs in the NFL for a short time under Chan. If you could draw up plays that got him the ball in space, he was beyond elite. Running between the tackles... not so much. Ultimately, definitely not worth the position he was drafted at.
  19. Agreed. The big sack numbers aren't there, but he is always collapsing the pocket from his side. That still squeezes the quarterback and can force rushed, inaccurate throws or flush him. I think the lack of another top pass rusher on the other side has enabled teams to send the RB help Jerry's way more often than not, which is partially a reason for the drop off in sacks. They used to send the RB to Mario all the time and left Jerry 1:1 when he had his biggest years. Also, Frazier doesn't blitz much or run a lot of stunts with the DEs. I notice Kyle stunting a lot on the inside, but you don't see Jerry coming all the way around into the A/B gaps. I remember seeing that a lot more in the past. It may not be great with current personal, as Dareus was fast enough to stunt to the outside and replace Hughes when he was here. Maybe they don't feel great about our current DTs getting around in time to have contain on those type of stunts.
  20. Why is each sentence its own paragraph?
  21. Agreed. Not having Shady hurts, but it doesn't kill our chances. Murphy obviously doesn't have McCoy level big play ability, but he looked serviceable in there. Tyrod is going to have to have an above average game to win and would have had to even with Shady healthy. If the sprain is pretty bad, I'd almost rather they shut him down completely for the week. If it's a bad sprain, he'll probably just get a couple plays in before he's hobbled completely, and then the clock on recovery is reset. If we make it past the Jags, I'd rather have a chance at a more healed Shady back for a potential matchup with the Pats.
  22. True, though Dareus wasn't generating much pressure before we left. A lot of that is due to the fact that McD/Frazier don't blitz very often. It was easy to have him double teamed on any given pass play. It would be good to have a monster NT that can generate pressure, but a good linebacker who can blitz up the middle (if we ever called it) could also accomplish that.
  23. Jerry was all over the place this week. Bringing pressure almost every time, flying around and making tackles downfield. Love that guy. He would sure benefit from another premier edge rusher on the other side again, but he is still doing a great job of collapsing he pocket and not letting QBs get comfortable even though the sacks have dwindled.
  24. Mackey’s is the Bills Backers bar, but it’s closed today for some reason. Grand Central is your best bet in the district.
