  1. I love Lindell, I really do....but Carpenter has been excellent thus far. So while I'm sad to see Lindell gone, it could be worse.
  2. I'd love to see Geno eating turf regardless of playoff probabilities. Also nice to see the Texans up on the Pats early...but I suppose technically we want the pats to win as many as possible for the hope of benching starters week 17...meh. EDIT: I just saw Brady throw a pick while targeting a wide open gronk. Quarter chub.
  3. What's sad is that Buffalo sells an amazing amount of tickets, for how poorly the team has played for the past decade. Toronto would never sell as many tickets (proof being their current professional teams).
  4. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this thread, it is making me optimistic for a wild card spot. But let's get things straight here: Belichick and Brady are not going to let the East slip to the Bills' hands. We can focus on winning the division after we snap a 13 year drought and sneak a wild card spot.
  5. Manuel played a great game. On that particular play, however, an errant throw is an errant throw. An elite QB isn't afraid to throw the ball away and take a loss of down to avoid an INT or sack. I think Manuel had in his head he wanted a TD, and was willing to lob a hail mary to do so. Not always a great approach. Manuel did have a great game though, he had a lot of incredibly accurate throws, including the TD to 88.
  6. Yes, more background information is definitely required before anyone can judge. If it was some drunken aggression/rowdiness then one would feel less pity but most likely it was more of an innocent drunk college kid just having a good time on a Sunday. Stupid, nonetheless, but still a terrible situation.
  7. You're right. 9-7 isn't impossible. While it is improbable, I'm still going to continue spending money on watching them at the bar. Oops yes I overlooked that. We've played 5 of the top 10 teams. We really lucked out in our schedule.
  8. I think the Jets are fakes. Yes, they beat the Patriots and the Saints. But they also have had some reaaaally ugly games. More ugly than our loss to Pitt. They have game, but I don't have faith they will translate it to greatness. Pats will win the division. That being said, they have a shot at wild card which is better than we can say for the Bills Another interesting thing to look at: Pats have an extremely tough schedule on the back end of the season. If they didn't have such a nice win buffer right now they might have had a hard time holding on to the East. But, of course, they have a great record and will hold on.
  9. One stat that really stands out: Throws to Goodwin = 59% completion, 76% of these end up being first downs. Granted its only out of 17 targets on the year, but this leads to the question why only 17?
  10. :wallbash: Chiefs (1) Patriots (4) Panthers (6) Bengals (10) Against the Chiefs, we arguably would have won had we scored a touchdown instead of pick six Patriots, we lost by a last minute field goal We beat the Panthers Took the Bengals to OT #%&$&@&$%*# ---- Okay, rant over. I thought I had moved on from this season but apparently it still burns.
  11. I don't know what your story is, but as a college student, I feel you - time to scalp some cheap tickets now that the season is in the toilet since the first half of the season is way too damn expensive for anyone besides the upper middle class (not trying to criticize those who can afford to go, just pointing out a reality).
  12. So lame. Granted, I live on the west coast so it doesn't affect me. I drop 40 bucks on beer and food to watch the games at a bar regardless.
  13. From a fan perspective, this is hands down a fantastic approach. While bye weeks are pretty boring in that you don't get to watch your favorite team play, it at least expands the season so fans can watch another week of football. On a side note, does anyone know why the NFL doesn't try to push for a few Saturday games? I mean, I know it would be in competition with college football, but a lot of people (myself included) don't watch college games. I would think the money gained from Saturday games would outweigh the losses - the Sunday morning schedule is so packed, but we can only watch one game at a time. A nationally broadcasted Saturday game would surely draw more viewers than a regional Sunday morning game
  14. In what range do they black out the games? Could one drive to say, Rochester, and watch the game?
  15. I have him on my fantasy team, and I've been waiting for this to happen all year. And as frustrating as it's been, I seriously feel like this might be the week. He looked REALLY good against the chiefs, and last week it was a retarded game plan - give the ball to him on the first 4(?) plays of the game, then almost nothing after that? wth? In any case, I think he's in for a big week too.
  16. I've heard of the "never punt" philosophy being used in high school before. In the NFL I think it is a little dramatic, but Marrone sure could grow some balls after opting to punt last game when we were down in the 4th and in Pitt territory.
  17. Would post link, but my source probably isn't within the rules. Based on the negativity on this board, you'd think the Jets would be favored +10. I'm pretty sure Mario wants to feast on Geno...our defense will come out to play. If Manuel can shake off the bad loss and play a decent game, we'll walk away with our first W in four weeks.
  18. Is that list supposed to be the top 10 rookie quarterback ratings through 5 games? If so, then this: I don't know what that article/interview is trying to pull...or maybe I'm misunderstanding something =/
  19. It is laughable that they are complaining now. They should have said something in March.
  20. 28th? Ouch. Well, we deserve it after getting blown out by the Steelers.
  21. I would like to at least see what stevie can do in the redzone. Last two throws on the goal line were 1) straight to a defending corner and 2) 15 feet out of bounds. Stevie's not the most physical guy but he has some good moves to create separation which is crucial.
  22. Exactly. Teams, who by the luck of the draw have Rodgers, Brady, Manning, or Brees, are pretty much a shoe in - no matter how bad the supporting cast is. Our defense is way better than Denver's, our WRs are better than in NE, our RBs are better than GB, DEN, NE, (probably not NO they have a kickin' trio with sproles, thomas, ingram). Point is, the QB position makes so much difference. We have been bleeding for a QB for 13 years, and this year especially (no one wanted to see Fitz back). It happened to land on a year with a terrible QB draft class. EJ seemed to have the highest ceiling, and we took a shot on him. I'm not going to speculate whether or not he will turn out, but I think everyone at this point has a feeling the curse isn't ending soon.
  23. Last week we were one touchdown instead of pick six away from knocking off the only undefeated team. This week we only get a handful of first downs and are basically given our only touchdown on a silver platter. We aren't the worst team in the league...we're just the same old bills. Another 5-11 season on the horizon
