  1. Exactly, and that is the beauty of it. With the original way of doing it the player leaves it to the judgment of the ref as to whether it was a pick or just a receiver who happened to be in the way. If there's no contact they can't call it. I had not seen it but it's interesting that receivers are doing that now. Very effective.
  2. I have noticed something really interesting that Hollins does when running a pick play. Usually, receivers block but try to make it look like they are receiving. "What? I just turned here to run a button hook, didn't know I was in your way, excuse me." Hollins kind of does the opposite. A defender will be running parallel to the line of scrimmage trying to get outside to catch the receiver in the flat. Hollins actually runs at the defender with his hands up as if he is bracing for impact and going in for a block. The defender tries to avoid him (breaking his line toward the edge) and then Hollins ducks out of the way avoiding contact. Instead of blocking but pretending he's receiving, he pretends to block but then avoids.
  3. Just watched an all 22 breakdown of the 4th down play to Shakir. That was one of the most beautiful play designs I've ever seen.
  4. BLASPHEMY!! Moderators, please ban the OP.
  5. Wasn't it his mom who was an attitude issue? I seem to remember hearing about tweets saying her son was not getting targeted and not treated right. Was a bit like OBJ's dad.
  6. However, if they did that they would be saying he is healthy so could not collect on the insurance. His money is guaranteed. From what I understand his guaranteed money was about 160 million and his cap hit this year is 10 million. So, if they do as you say, all Tua could do is walk away with his 150 million in his pocket (because it would be due as soon as they cut him) and the Dolphins would have a 150 million dollar dead cap hit next year. That would make it tough to field a team.
  7. Yes, we didn't see Morse on the ground spasming. I have heard a neurologist say that the "fencing posture" does not necessarily mean the concussion is worse, but it sure looks like it, which is important. If you read that someone knocked his girlfriend out in an elevator and then dragged her out, it should not be worse to actually see video of it...but it is. Appearances do matter and Tua's concussions appear scary. Are they? That's what his doctors are hopefully trying to figure out.
  8. Did you see Chris Long talk about buying his jersey? Very funny.
  9. You trying to rat out a fellow mafia member? That's such bad luck. Don't do it.
  10. I agree. As several have pointed out the idea is to lure defenses close to the line of scrimmage and THEN go over the top once they do. The problem for many teams is that they may be able to lure the defenses but once they do they don't have Josh Allen at QB to go over the top. The question people have is whether the Bills have the receivers to do it. I think they do it and we will see this offense go off through the air one of these weeks.
  11. Wait....Andy Dalton is still in the league?!
  12. Man, can you believe the Bills could only put up 34 against this AWFUL Cards defense? We're doomed.
  13. Love the "We suck again."
  14. I still remember the first touchdown Allen through against him. He looked and pump faked which completely fooled Ramsey and then gunned it to Ramsey's man who was open. Looked at Ramsey and clearly seemed to be making a point of saying "take that." He hasn't stop going after him since.
  15. Yeah, as I understand it, that was the issue with Eric Wood. There was that weird press conference where he seemed to be retiring but the Bills didn't want to call it a requirement. There was some concern they were trying to screw him out of his guarantees but later they clarified that they never wanted to keep his money from him but it was a "timing issue." I think they had to wait until a specific date (June 1, maybe?) so the immediate hit wouldn't crush them.
  16. I think they might need to figure out what is going to happen with Tua's contract if he DOES walk away first. If they have to pay his guaranteed money...and I think there's a good chance they will...then that is going to be a HUGE dead cap hit. Not sure how much more they could absorb.
  17. Yeah, this will be an interesting case if he does walk away. The key is "chooses." If he has a football injury that forces him into retirement, I think they would owe him the money. If Drs tell him that there is damage to his brain that means another hit could kill him is he "choosing" to walk away or is he forced to retire because of injury?
  18. Well, yeah...but so's the Atlantic Ocean.
  19. Agreed. It's what I love about Brady. I think Josh mentioned in his postgame comments that Brady is not afraid to run the same play over and over if that is what is working. I HATE coaches (particularly those from the Mike Martz tree) who want to show how clever they are and fool a team rather than just beat them. The "Oh, we've got a first and goal at the one and a bruising RB who they haven't been able to stop all game? Let's throw the ball. They'll NEVER expect that!" mentality. So annoying. Yes, but the brilliant move about that by Beane is that it counts against next year's cap after Diggs is off the books. If the incentive is deemed to be "below expectations" they would have to count the bonus against this year's cap but because Von sucked last year his expected total was, I think, 1.5 sacks so the bonus counts against next year.

  21. I'm a True Grit fan....and she's looking MUCH older.
  22. Oh....okay...I'll wear my short shorts and show mine off.
  23. Yeah. Didn't turn his head and was into the receiver before the ball. I thought it was PI. HOWEVER, I think it was almost identical to what the defender did against Coleman and there was no flag on that play. Consistently letting it go.
  24. Yeah, but he'll wear out his arm if they keep up with that usage rate. I mean 23 throws? He can't keep that up.
  25. I've heard a number of commentators with similar takes. "The offense seemed out of sync" "needed Josh Allen to put on his cape," etc. etc. Yes, Josh made some great throws and runs, but not only did we only have 3 points with two minutes in the half (because we never had the ball) as Virgil pointed out, but Josh only threw the ball 23 times. Think about that production. 23 throws and about 40 yards rushing (a lot for a QB but we have certainly seen more from Josh) and score 34 points. If Josh doesn't feel the need to hurdle and land on his own hand this is actually a good recipe to preserve a QB and NOT over use him.
