I don't think race is a factor here.

11/3/24 Game 9 GAMEDAY! Bills vs Dolphins Post Game Thread

I'm never the "blame the ref" guy but those two plus the non-interference call against Coleman were atrocious. Incredibly bad and extremely impactful. -

Wasn't there a thread after the first Miami game that was just quotes from their board and links to videos of fans melting down? We need one of those again. -
TNF. Jets Texans. Who do we want to win tonight?
fergie's ire replied to Billyhouseman's topic in The Stadium Wall
NI know it's probably best for the Bills if Jets win but hate Rodgers and jets so much still want them to lose. Don't want any signs of life and the implosion to continue. My fantasy is Rodgers gets pounded, goes full Petrman in 1st half and does the retire at halftime thing. -
You also have to consider that we just set a record for longest streak of games without losing by more than a touchdown. That means that, before Baltimore game, EVERY SINGLE ONE of our losses were in that group of one score games, while we had many wins that were outside the one score games. That skews things a bit. If they got blown out more often that would help that record.

Rex, is that you?

But I thought this was a must lose game because it's an NFC team. Winning will hurt our conference record. -
I also think Brady scripts plays for a different reason. Dorsey and Dabol were focused on what WE do well in order to maximize our chance of scoring. Brady seems to want to use the first drive or two to figure out what THEY are doing in order to have success throughout the game. When he first took over I remember him starting the game with that terrible screen pass to Diggs that never worked but it showed how they were defending Diggs and helped him set up plays to take advantage of that defense.

Von Miller outlook implications from the Cooper trade

The Jets lost to the Broncos. Would it be shocking if they were to lose to a team like the Colts? I don't think so. Also, though I think they are mediocre, I don't think the Jets match up well against the Steelers. It's a physical team with a very good pass rush. Every time Rodgers gets hit he seems to get up limping. I think there's an excellent chance he doesn't finish the season. If they lose Sunday, they already have five losses. Maybe they get in the playoffs with 8 losses, but good chance they can only lose 7. Not loving their chances. -
I seem to remember what he did for the Cowboys offense when he was traded there and felt he had something to prove and wanted to get paid. If memory serves, he did very good things for the Cowboys that year. Looks like between Raiders and Cowboys he had about 1000 yards that year, but I think the Cowboys offense as a whole look much better with him in it. Hope the same thing happens here.

I think there's a bit of a delay between the defender going down and the pancake. Looked more like a WWE elbow drop to me. Also, the penalty was enforced on the kickoff. It didn't give Buff a first and goal because it was after the play. It's like when an unsportsmanlike penalty is called on the offense after the play where they've picked up a 1st down. They get moved back 15 yards, but it's still 1st and 10 because the 1st down already was completed.

Maybe while he is practicing a coach looks at one of the defensive players, nods towards Bass and whispers "sweep the leg."

Agree. I'd be curious to see how many drives in the 2nd were not stopped because of penalties. In other words, a situation where they had to get more than 10 for a first and failed to overcome it. Seems like very few if any. This offense is less equipped to overcome a 1st and 20 or 25. That said, in the past, and particularly against teams like the Jets with a good defense the offense would seem to get frustrated and then rush and become a bit panicky. Sometimes they would make the big play but lots of times they would make the stupid play that would give the other team the win. They didn't do that last night. Despite the frustration they stayed calm and kicked the punt or field goal when they needed to and it helped them secure a win. Now...key to that strategy would seem to be a reliable kicking game...and yeeesh.

To me, the issue is if the ball moves a bit as his elbow hits. Hard to see because it's under his body and a bit behind but I'm not sure he maintained control. -

Exponential with the bump as exponent. Don't they teach kids bad juju mathematics anymore? -
Great. Another game against a team with a just fired the coach boost.

If your read is accurate, and I think it is...then the coaching DECISION is not on McDermott. Made me crazy that they weren't working to get the first or even threatening to get the first. Even if they get a five yard gain, Houston might not call the TO worrying that we might be able to pick up a first and be able to try for FG position. It was Josh and/or Brady making the poor decision to throw deep. That said, the head coach or OC need to pull Josh aside before he goes out in that situation and make it clear he needs to go for the first. That is a failure of McDermott.

I haven't watch a minute of vikings football until today, and it probably has something to do with how the defense is playing them, but every play seems to be a run up the middle or a pass 30+ yards down the field. It's so annoying to watch. With their record their offense must have been better than this in previous games.

Has anybody researched Bills history? Was it another tribute to the glory days of the Mularkey Bills? I also have to ask if Brady was sick or something. it's one thing to have a clunker game, but it seemed like everything Brady normally does well was missing. Didn't see as much motion to identify coverage. When Brady does do trick plays or plays in general it usually builds off something the defense has seen and is trying to stop. So, the 4th down throw to Shakir earlier in the year built off of orbit motion (which the Bills have done a lot) and Cook leaking out. Defense tried to stop both and when Shakir reversed orbit it was wide open. When have we seen Samuel run out of the wildcat? So, instead of worrying about Samuel and success he had in the play all the attention went to Allen and the thing blew up. -
