I think there's a whole thread about Highly Questionable....and there is Terry Bradshaw.

Week 9 Around the League
fergie's ire replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, even though I watched the Bills game, EVERY time the "QB Allen carted off field" bulletin came up on the crawl, my heart would skip a beat. -
Keep me ON the Christmas card list...but just wanted to add that I am not so concerned with the sacks. First, I think one area Josh will need to work on this off season is throwing the ball away. Early in his career he got a grounding penalty when the ball didn't make it to the line of scrimmage and then threw the ball further down field the next time and got picked off. It seemed to get in his head and he never seems comfortable throwing the ball away. That said, in this game he did the next best thing. He would push forward or try and slip out the side, and COVERED UP THE BALL. So, he didn't lose it (like Wilson) and a lot of his sacks were in the 2-5 yard loss range. They weren't those sacks where Josh is running around playing hero ball and takes a 15 yard loss. Very few were drive killers. That's why Huard made the comment several times that it didn't SEEM like Josh had taken as many sacks as the sheet said. They were sacks, but weren't terrible sacks.

I think we were making the same point simultaneously.

I thought he played like LAST year's Josh Allen. He repeatedly overthrew open receivers down field and made some poor decisions. However, more than the physical abilities, my concern would be whether he is progressing the way Allen was. To me, the ability to learn (and willingness to put the effort in to learn) has always been one of Allen's greatest attributes. I am not sure we are seeing a better Daniel Jones this year than we did last.....and that would concern me.

I think they even reported that's what he said. Even before that, on the field as the ball went by him, Diggs body language and expression seemed to be saying, "Oh crap....I screwed that up." Agree with most of these posts...quarterback is playing with anticipation (that's how he is beating blitzes) and those things happen.

Interesting note from Sal on WGR

Yesterday's offense doesn't concern me. They didn't do much in the first half after that first drive, but I am willing to give a team a half to adjust when they lose their starting center and replace him with a guard who hasn't played all year. Then, in the second half, they scored 17, which is not bad considering the emphasis on the run. The first half defense was good...but the second half defense....yeesh. That's where my worries lie after that game. -

Hmmm, seems like I remember a young BB doing something like that as a Def Coordinator in a Super Bowl. -
Josh Allen - week EIGHT report card
fergie's ire replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, and I'll be curious when people look at the all 22. Seeing it live, it looked to me that if Diggs crosses in front of the DB toward the post, Josh hits him in stride and he's gone. -

And would like to see him behind Feliciano....could see that as a good power running combo. -

Even more fun to listen to WEEI. -
Wait...are you saying that nobody circles the wagons like....the New England Patriots?! Well...that doesn't sound right.

The locker room...but seemingly nobody else. That's why I would call this team player respectful, rather than player friendly. To me, someone like Rex Ryan is player friendly and just seems to be happy to put up with anything. This organization actually seems to have little patience for someone who doesn't fit...whether it be because of attitude, work ethic, being in shape, or even just scheme. We saw that early with players like Sammy Watkins and Dareus, and recently with Spain. They WILL cut guys loose if they don't think they are helping the team. However, what they won't do is talk about that player to the media or other teams. We can guess from what we saw on the field that Spain was not in shape and was playing poorly...but we don't hear the team say that (unlike Poe in Dallas). Adam Gase is always talking crap about his players either openly or in very loud leaks to the media. There's none of that here. I think players like the respect...but also the demand for accountability.

Coked out of his mind.....but still makes a good point.

Even in his prime, he couldn't spell cat if you spotted him the C and the T.

Dontari Poe to be released by Cowboys

Hopefully, that is Poe, not Worley. 😃 -
Quinton Spain released; signs with Bengals PS

Yeah, one consistency we have seen from McBeane is that they have no patience for malcontents....even if they did just sign the guy to an extension. -
The Maddening Mystery of McDermott's Disappearing Defense
fergie's ire replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we are missing some unsexy but important pieces. Yes, Start would clog the middle. Also, the problem with Shaq is he was just and "edge setter." Well, time and time again against Tenn. Tannyhill would scramble outside and there was nobody there....we would fail to set the edge. Also, not sure what happened with Taron Johnson. His rookie year, he seemed like a real difference maker and we missed him when he was out....but just not seeing that from him this year. -
Trevor Lawrence Advised to Avoid Jets
fergie's ire replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that with Eli it is important to remember the context that he was being advised by his father. He played for a really poorly run Saints team. One year he led the conference in attempts, completions, and yards and the team finished with two wins. Another year he was the NFC player of the year...and his team was 7-9. Yes, there are teams that have ups and downs...with cyclical success and failure, but there are teams that are poorly run and always struggle (e.g. the football team). Archie did NOT want his son to go through what he went through, and he was the driving force behind Eli saying he would not play for the Chargers. -
Hulu Live TV/Last night's Bills broadcast

I watched the game on Hulu live. No problems. -
That "illusion of Blitzing" is something the Giants did well in the Super Bowl to prevent the Pats perfect season. A lot gets made of them being able to bring pressure with 4 and some say that not many teams have the personnel to do that. While that is partly true, and the Giants had great pass rushers, they also used that illusion of blitzing. They ran some zone blitzes and just enough blitzes for the offense to look for it, and I remember seeing a lot of Patriot lineman blocking air...waiting for a blitz to come that didn't...while somewhere else along the line a rusher was getting to Brady.

A lot will depend on things like ligament damage, but if the recovery goes well, he'll still be paid. Yes, this kind of injury can be devastating, but Tua had the injury that ended Beau Jackson's career. It CAN be devastating. But, because the recovery went well, he was still drafted 5th. Okay...not first, but still pretty high. Teams are desperate for quality quarterbacks and Dak was tearing it up before he went down. Look at the Bills. They haven't had a good quarterback in decades. What we give for the chance to have Dak close to what he was before the injury. We would certainly pay...uh...wait...what? Oh yeah. Sorry. Force of habit. WE won't pay him...but some sad unfortunate team desperate for a quarterback will.

Do we make a trade or wing it?
fergie's ire replied to Cubanmist's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If they'd kicked the extra point (instead of trying for two) and then kicked the field goal, it would've been a two score game.
