I'll have to see the replay again my own self, but I seem to remember that both the ball and Toney were by a hash mark so you didn't need to look down the line. You could see the ball at the front of the hash mark and Toney stepping over the other one.

I felt it balanced out with the Murray catch. I was NOT sure he controlled it long enough to be a catch.
-
Yeah, that's what Romo said. He commented that refs sometimes don't want to call ticky tack penalties in that situation but that was so blatant they had to call it.

I've been thinking the same thing. Not sure if it's attitude or maybe could be injury? I remember about a month ago he mysteriously popped up on the injury list mid-week. Could something be physically wrong?

Von Miller faces arrest in domestic violence case in Dallas
fergie's ire replied to ArdmoreRyno's topic in The Stadium Wall
But it does not need to be proven or even provable in a court of law in order for the league to suspend a player. Just before Goodell became commissioner, it seemed like a different NFL player (usually, but not always, a Cincinnati Bengal) was getting arrested. Chris Henry, in particular, was getting arrested all the time but not found guilty. It gave the impression that the league was full of criminals who used their money and fame to get off. So, Goodell came in on a campaign of being the guy who would clean it up. He instituted policies that allowed players to be suspended even if not found guilty. He has included these policies in the collective bargaining agreement. Think about Ezekial Elliot who was suspended for six games for domestic abuse even though he was never charged. Basically, if the NFL decides they want to suspend him, they can suspend him. The latest collective bargaining agreement puts some limitations on the judge, jury, executioner powers...but not a lot. -
It’s Chiefs week - and the season is on the line

Can I get in on this? -
I am curious if anyone has tried to watch Sunday Night Football on Peacock. There are actually three levels of Peacock: Peacock, Peacock+, and Peacock+ Premium. Peacock is free. I can go to Peacock and watch some shows...but not others. Everything I read on SNF says just "Peacock" but then tries to sell Peacock+. So, do I need to pay? Or just need the app? I'll try to remember to check it out this Sunday.

Bills Jets brawl in tunnel after the game.

Something just occurred to me. We got their defense and particularly their DL PISSED OFF...and now they play the Dolphins and Tua in a few days. Oh...this could be good. -
James Cook #2 in Rushing after Tonight's game
fergie's ire replied to Silvercrw's topic in The Stadium Wall
Murray reminds me of Leroy Hoard who once told his coach, "If you need one yard, I can get you three. If you need five yards....I can get you three." -
Agreed. I remember they ran the jet sweep that so many have been asking for early in the game. It lost 2 yards. I said at the time, "I'm okay with that. The fact that he ran it sets up other things even if the play itself wasn't successful." On the touchdown pass to Johnson they faked the jet sweep. It drew the defense to the wrong side. Beautiful.

Yeah, I don't think he'd want to pass up the TV gig either, but he would be just what Josh needs, in my opinion. Needs to have that fun and swagger back (which is what fitzy has said) and always shirtless fitzy could bring it out of him. Maybe he can be brought in in an unofficial capacity?

Not with that injury. I had a 3rd degree A/C separation and had surgery on it. Even immediately after the injury, I remember the Dr. telling me that I would be able to do pretty much everything normal as long as my arm was below the shoulder. The problems would happen happen once the arm was lifted up and, in fact, at first I couldn't even lift my arm over my shoulders. I seem to remember a QB suffering the same injury and even completing the game by throwing underhand. Think it was Brian Griese. When Josh hands the ball off, even if he reaches up slightly, the upper arm is in the underhand position so he shouldn't have any problem.

Week 9 thread - We’re on to Cincinnati
fergie's ire replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's what I meant by "roasted or called for interference/pi". So no, certainly don't think he has "man skills." -

But that's the problem with Elam. It seems he no longer has those skills for some reason. He seemed to be reasonably good last year but this year when he is locked on a receiver he either gets roasted or called for holding/pi...and when in zone looks out of place and lost. Not sure why he regressed but it certainly looks like he has. -
It may have been the same article but I also remember reading that it was a premise of the Daboll offense that you try to get over ten yards in two plays so that you get three chances to make two. In other words, you run routes to get six yards (or more) so if you hit on two of them you get the first down even if you miss on one play you still get the first down. So, you may go to third down if, say, second down is an incompletion. It's a different mindset than the old "three yards and a cloud of dust" which is the idea that you can get three and a half yards on each and every play and move down the field.

Week 7 Bills @ Patriots - on to Foxborough!
fergie's ire replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ah, can't remember what I was watching but they said Allen was injured and showed a different play. I think it was the Okereke roughing call? He falls backward but at an angle to that the impact hits his shoulder blade. That would NOT be an AC injury play, but what you describe is exactly the kind of play that causes that injury. -
Week 7 Bills @ Patriots - on to Foxborough!
fergie's ire replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Strange. I've had an AC injury and the way he fell did not look like an AC injury at all. Typically with an AC injury you impact the top of the shoulder. The classic way to to it is if the arm is pinned (like when a tackler wraps a player up around the arm) while the top of the shoulder is impacted pushing it down and straining those ligaments. When they said he hurt his shoulder I was thinking AC, but when I watched the tape he falls on the back of his shoulder, basically on the shoulder blade. That would seem more like a bruise than an AC sprain. -
Jets beat undefeated Eagles. First time Jets beat Eagles
fergie's ire replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall
Eagles suck and should clearly fire their coach and GM. The Niners should do the same. Clearly, they don't know what they are doing and will never wind a Super Bowl. -
Because once he was off the field, the refs would have marked the ball ready for play and wound the game and play clocks. The Jags could have stood around and waited for the clock to run down. The Bills did not want that to happen so McD called a timeout.

I do find the reaction to Kincaid's usage to be odd. We keep hearing over and over again that Josh needs to stop playing hero ball. He needs to take the short safe passes. Well, if you send EVERYONE 40 yards down field there will be nobody there when Josh throws it short. Furthermore, those throws are only safe if there is someone there who will actually catch the ball. How many times did we see a "safe" pass bounce off McKenzie's chest? We needed someone with really sure hands who could catch the underneath stuff and allow the offense to methodically move the chains. That's why he was drafted and that is what he is done. He is playing his role perfectly. Might that role be expanded as he gains experience and defenses start keying on the short routes? Sure. But for now he is perfect for this offense.

A Few Thoughts About the Dolphins Game, in no particular order
fergie's ire replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, that was one of the plays that I was thinking of that I had seen broken down. The two are just working so well together.
