  1. I admit my error. When I said "changed nothing," what I should have said was "upgraded nothing" - the exceptions being T.Y. Hilton and, to some extent, Coby Fleener (T.Y. might be able to sneak into the discussion as a top-10 WR / Fleener is knocking on the door of being a top-10 TE, but certainly is not yet). I suppose Arians was an upgrade at OC, but I don't think that the rest of the coaching an upgrade. RB and OL were and are some of the worst in the league. Their defense is lousy, don't let the stats fool you, I watch ~half of colts games and the numbers are very misleading. I think it's a situation like the Cowboys defense where the quality of the offense covered a lot of defensive deficiencies simply by keeping them off the field and allowing them to play with a lead. Playing against the Titans and Jags twice a year each doesn't hurt either.
  2. you mentioned him briefly, but luck comes to mind. that kid is so f*cking special. the colts went 2-14 in 2011, changed almost nothing with the exception of adding andrew luck, then go 11-5 the following year. that roster is still so barren of talent with the exception of luck, he doesn't have half the team brady, manning, wilson, or rodgers have and still delivers on a weekly basis. blows my mind to think what he'd do on the bills. barring injury, he's already almost a lock for the HOF.
  3. helpful tip: toggle the all-capitals feature of your desktop computational device by pressing down on the "caps lock" button (located on the far left of your keyboard) until its indicator light is no longer illuminated.
  4. put me down for 20% - 40% on both
  5. Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet 51m51 minutes ago A pay cut looms for #49ers WR Stevie Johnson, source said. He is set to make $5.5M this season. Grew into one of Kaepernick’s favorites end bit is interesting
  6. this thread/poll might burn TBD to the ground
  7. don't forget that they've both been accused of sexual assault!
  8. if you're going to make a splash, this is the year to do it. FA class is ridiculous this year.
  9. GB not NO should be at #3. IND and PIT are both too low.
  10. for those who have a better understanding of the safety position than I do: is duke williams... good? like what are we working with here? is he a top-64 safety?
  11. http://www.buffalobills.com/video/audio/Kiko-Alonso-Its-a-great-time-to-be-a-Bill/6b1bacc5-e030-4422-840f-d1116e39e1b6 interview without the rest of the JMS mumbo jumbo.
  12. this is spot on, been saying this for a minute. happens at other positions too, though to a lesser extent.
  13. this is why we need jay ajayi !
  14. i heard doug marrone might opt out of his contract!
  15. keep in mind that it may be that the nfl is slower to adopt "analytics" because statistics are much less useful in football. in baseball, a player's statistics are almost a perfect representation of his performance. in the basketball, a player's statistics are slightly less useful, but still fairly representative of his performance. in football... statistics are incredibly difficult to interpret. does a WR have strong stats because of his strong performances, or because of strong performances by his QB (just look at how Decker / Sander's receiving stats changed when they left / joined Manning in Denver)? does an RB have good stats because of a his strong performances or because of the strong performances of his offensive line? it may not be that the nfl is behind, just that analytics are less applicable / interpretable in football. football is a true team sport.
  16. not okay with losing spikes - he wouldnt be that expensive. Bradham - Brown - Kiko between 3 LBs, we'll probably miss, on average 9 or 10 games from starters for various (injury?) reasons. there is good reason to have 4 strong players at a position group with only 3 starting roles.
  17. i have long been promoting an alternative that i drew a few years ago... really though, i actually love our current logo - i think it's one of the best in the nfl.
  18. Carr is nothing. Bridgewater is who we should have drafted.
  19. good to hear about dareus and gilmore. i think they're the two of the three most important pieces of our defense (along with mario - kyle at 4).
  20. The draft this year is absolutely stacked at RB. Minus the ACL, Gurley is an Andrew-Luck-type prospect and there are about 9 or 10 guys behind him who all have a chance to be great. The way I see it, we're not going to get ourselves an elite QB this year, so why not scoop up an elite RB in the draft and let our offense run through that dude - clear things up for Sammy, EJ. Unless we're trading up for Gurley or Gordon, Tevin Coleman in the second is my pick.
  21. next year's second for bradford?
  22. i'm usually not a fan of overspending in FA unless the team feels that they're on the cusp - but i think suh is the exception. the dude is a game-changer on defense.
  23. In fact, we could have traded down. Oh - and did I mention that this years class is loaded at WR again with Kevin White, Amari Cooper, DGB, etc... It feels like elite WR prospects are becoming a dime a dozen.
