  1. Yeah, they're going right after him.
  2. I don't disagree, he needs to be more patient and I'm not going to defend that mess Monday night. On the other hand, I don't agree with this narrative that he's been an interception machine the last two seasons. His interception rate has been a little higher than you'd like, but not outside the norm, around once every 41 pass attempts. The fumbles are a bigger problem than the interceptions.
  3. That's true, but it's also somewhat a function of throwing more passes than most other teams. Matt Stafford had a higher interception percentage than Josh Allen in both 2021 and 2022 (Allen was 17th and 24th, respectively). Stafford led the league in total INTs in 2021. They won the Super Bowl that year. These days, QBs are throwing so few interceptions that a few more than average is not necessarily the end of the world.
  4. I think he had a bad game because he got impatient in the opener against an excellent defense. It happens. If it continues over the next few weeks, then we may have a problem, but I expect that he'll be fine. As for the second half of last year, we know he was playing with a throwing arm injury, so I can generally give him a pass for struggling at times.
  5. I think he'll be fine and this was just a **** game against a team that matches well against them, but at the same time, Allen deserves plenty of criticism for this one. If he just plays smart and doesn't turn the ball over, the Bills were going to win this game.
  6. There are no excuses for that. I thought he played reasonably well in the first half, but that second half was absolutely putrid.
  7. Perfect way to start OT...false start.
  8. Yeah, it wasn't so much a bad decision as it was a bad throw.
  9. With the way this team has given up big plays tonight, I wouldn't give them another chance.
  10. 17/21 for 133 yards, 1 td and 1 int against one of the best pass defenses they're likely to face. And you have to expect some rust in week 1. It could be a LOT worse.
  11. That's a lot of it, alright. Still, 13 points and 188 yards against arguably the best defense in the league. It could be a hell of a lot worse.
  12. FG would still be OK considering the Jets QB situation. Play safe and smart, get the TD if possible, but get points on the board.
  13. That should answer any questions about Benford's speed, anyway.
  14. I hope not. With as well as Benford has played since being drafted last year, I think that would be a mistake. If he's not a starter at this point, I think he will be before the season is over.
  15. I don't really care about it that much. If they're going to ask him to throw 700-750 times a year, which, including sacks and scrambles as originating as pass playcalls, is about what they're asking of him, and as long as he's converting that into 40+ total touchdowns, I'm not too worried about a few extra turnovers that might not happen if he were playing more conservative. It comes with the territory.
  16. I can't really fault Spencer Brown on that one. His left foot slipped pretty badly just as he reaches the LB, causing him to be off balance.
  17. He had a great season last year, but, as always, I want to see if he can maintain it over two or three seasons before making a final judgment.
  18. I'm not surprised. He's better than he gets credit for around here and probably better than #10.
  19. That sucks, but at the same time, best of luck to him. I never thought the story added up and I'm glad to see that NFL teams are apparently willing to give him another chance.
  20. I'm not surprised. The story we heard never seemed to add up to me.
  21. At this point, I'd like to see them add someone like Justin Houston or Melvin Ingram to help with the pass rush.
  22. Probably, but they can always be traded again if the Bills choose to do so.
  23. They've had success at it in recent years, but I wouldn't necessarily expect that as the norm. In the longer term, I think this is a better late round strategy.
  24. This should be their late draft strategy every year. Throw a bunch of picks at the wall and hope something sticks. The odds that any one particular late round pick is going to make it isn't good, so take more chances at it.
