  1. He was hit for about a 6 yard loss. Then hit about three more times before he finally went to the ground. The play should have been called dead before it was.
  2. Did you not see the Falcons defender run right past Teague for the sack?
  3. Its largely Losman. Too many people expected a guy with no starts under his belt to play like a veteran. Its not going to happen.
  4. Of course, he's the first QB to ever throw an INT. The pick doesn't bother me. Its going to happen. It won't be the last one. I'll say it again, young QBs stink.
  5. I could care less what Roethlisberger did. He's one QB. I can point to Peyton Manning who threw 14 INTs in his first 6 games or a host of other QBs who sucked in their first season as a starter but went onto become solid players.
  6. You won't see week to week improvement. It'll probably be more like month-to-month improvement. That said, I think he's had a much better game this week than last week. One thing I think the Bills really need to do is spread the field with three or four WRs. Losman seems much more comfortable with it.
  7. It annoys me a lot more that Eric Moulds can't bring that pass in. He's one of the highest paid WRs in the NFL. That ball hit him in the hands. He needs to catch it, regardless of a little (and it was a little, not a lot) interference from Hall.
  8. Yeah, unfortunately, that's what it means. It usually takes a season or two to develop accuracy as well as the mental aspects of the game.
  9. We do have an average rookie QB. He stinks, which is par for the course with a QB in his third start.
  10. For all the whining about Losman, our $6M/yr WR needs to haul that catch in, regardless of whether Hall may have had a bit of interference. Losman hit him in the hands.
  11. I think it was a big issue today. The Bills simply do not have any speed offensively outside of Lee Evans. If Evans is shut down, no one else is a major downfield threat. A fast D like the Bucs can crowd the LOS with little threat of getting beat deep by the Bills WRs, which is exactly what they did. That kept McGahee in check behind a weak OL, forcing Losman to beat the Bucs D with his arm. Not suprisingly, in just his first road start, Losman couldn't get the job done against one of the best Ds in the NFL.
  12. Losman didn't do it five times in a half, or in the game. He threw one that should have been intercepted. The rest certainly were not the between-the-numbers gifts that some want to make them out to be. The Bucs were jumping the short routes and batted several passes. Most could have been intercepted had the DB been a half second quicker. Most would have been completed had they been a half second later.
  13. Sure its true. I'd guess that every QB that played today put at least one pass into the hands of a defender who dropped it. And that's in addition to the ones that actually were intercepted. And I never said that the Bucs couldn't have picked a few today. That said, there's a reason why 'almost intercepted' is not an NFL stat.
  14. If opposing defenders could catch, every QB in the league would finish the year with 40-50 INTs.
  15. I agree. I expected a little better, but its not suprising at all that Losman struggled badly in his first career road start against a top 5 defense. I'm more concerned with the fact that our OL gave McGahee no room at all to run. They contributed greatly to putting Losman into a lot of 3rd and long situations, which is a recipe for disaster against any defense, and especially a good one like the Bucs. With the exception of Lee Evans, a total lack of speed at WR and TE don't help matters, either, as the opposition can crowd the LOS without much worry of getting beat deep. Rookie QB, bad OL, slow recievers. Parrish's return will help, but we've still got problems offensively.
  16. I agree. Its ugly, but Losman needs as many snaps against a top tier defense that he can get.
  17. He's going to have to learn how to play against teams like this at some point. There's no point in delaying it. I'm also not sure that Holcomb is a significant upgrade over Losman, and in fact, his lack of mobility might be a major detriment playing behind our OL.
  18. The red zone penalties were the problem. Putting a young QB, no matter how good he is, in a 3rd and 10 or 3rd and 12 situation is not a recipe for success. The Bills learned that Sunday, when penalties killed three first half drives.
  19. It shouldn't suprise you. Bledsoe played well back in '02 when he had something to prove. The question is whether or not he can maintain a high level of play over the course of the season.
  20. Pat, pat, pat...sack.. at the one yard line. On the first play I've seen of that game today.
  21. Not even the worst Bills Qb of the last 10 years. He was better than Todd Collins and Billy Joe Hobert, though that's not saying much.
  22. Absolutely. I'm not saying anything negative about Losman. I think he's done a very, very good job today, regardless of the fact that its his first start.
  23. Its going to be that way all season. He'll be inconsistent from one series to another. That's par for the course with a young QB.
  24. Yep. Looks like Villarial wasn't ready to play. As soon as Preston hit the field, the running game started working. BTW, I also remember the whining of a few people when Preston was drafted this spring, too.
  25. That's pretty much how I feel about it as well. I have no respect whatseover for the Patriots and never will. The attitude that we should kiss their a$$es is pathetic.
