The Bills don't need to make that mistake again. Let Losman play through it. The last thing you want is for him to be looking over his shoulder every time he gets off to a slow start.

I think anything less than a report saying Moulds has a halo over his head and walks on water would be cause for many to disregard the report. On the other hand, those same posters are ready to string Mike Mularkey up on the slightest of evidence. The truth is that we don't know what happened. I tend to side with the Bills' position for the simple reason that it makes no logical sense for them to suspend Eric Moulds without some cause.

And just who committed those turnovers against Miami???

Lee Evans has more yardage and TDs this season than Moulds does as well.

If you have to ask that question, yeah, you should.

When was Eric Moulds named head coach of this team? I don't care whether Moulds likes the playcalling or not. Playcalling is not one of his responsibilities.

The run D has not improved in recent weeks. The competition is the reason for the supposed improvement. The Dolphins were playing from behind and threw the ball 65 times Sunday, though Ronnie Brown still ran for 97 yards and averaged almost 6 per carry (edit: The box score I viewed is incorrect; Ronnie Brown had 6 carries for 20 yards, RW had 11 for 46). The Panthers are one of the worst rushing teams in the NFL, 26th in rushing yardage and average a hideous 2.99 yards per rush. The pass rush from the front four is all but non-existent, and its why Jerry Gray calls so many blitzes. He has to, and we got a good glimpse of why Sunday. In the 2nd half, when Gray backed off and rushed mainly his front four, Rosenfels had all day to throw and picked the Bills D apart. The pass protection and the run blocking both have been pretty poor all season, including in recent weeks. There have been stretches where one or the other have played reasonably well, as we saw in the first quarter Sunday, but the other team usually adjusts and figures out how to exploit them, again, as we saw in the rest of the game Sunday. Losman was running for his life for the final 40 minutes and the running game was non-existent. Both were the result of weak OL play. I do agree with you on the substitutions. I think the Bills overuse them.

Interesting. According to them, Jason Peters has only allowed 1/2 sack this season. Granted, he hasn't started many games, but that's still not bad at all.

To be honest, I think Mularkey deserves the benefit of the doubt. He has a bad DL and a pathetic OL. He's made some poor game decisions with gimmick plays at times, but I wonder how much is influenced by the fact that his team has no talent in the trenches. Even at 4-8 and despite the poor line play, they've been competitive most of the year. I'd also be a little wary of upsetting the apple cart right now at a time when Losman appears to be 'getting it'. Mularkey may not be the coach to take the Bills to the Super Bowl, but he might be an ideal coach for rebuilding, given that he's getting good mileage out of his younger players like JP, Willis McGahee and Lee Evans. So as unpopular as it may be, I'd give him one more year, though with a short leash for 2006. Tom Donahoe's future is another story. I think he's done a fairly good job overall, but has all but totally failed along both lines and missed on two high profile moves (Mike Williams and Drew Bledsoe). Those key mistakes have kept the Bills in the AFC cellar and will likely cost Donahoe his job.

I agree, and I'd much rather see him remain upbeat in the face of adversity than to act like a spoiled brat as a few players have. He's struggling right now, but I have not seen him quit.

Reed had a step on Madison out of his break. The pass Losman threw was well behind Reed and he had to slow down for it, allowing Madison to catch up. As it turns out, the pass was so far behind Reed that he had little chance for it. Had he led Reed another couple of yards, it likely would have been a TD.

Reading comprehension problems, I take it? I said that he made the right decision to throw to Josh Reed. Reed was open on the play. The throw itself was a poor one.

They may get a shot at him. He's not ideal size for a LT these days (about 6'5 295). That could be enough to drop him outside of the top 5. Still, I'm not sure I want the Bills to draft him, or any OT in R1. Why? Because knowing this team like I do, they'll consider the OL fixed and ignore the other OL trouble spots! I'd rather see them draft OL heavily in R2-4 and build an overall solid line than have one great player and a bunch of bums.

He actually made the right decision. Reed was open. He made a poor throw. He wasn't the only one to make a poor play today.

Look around the league. There is an awful lot of bad QBing out there.

I disagree. There are a lot of WRs who are asked to do the same thing as Moulds, particularly WCO WRs. How many starting NFL WRs are averaging under 10 yards per catch this year? Few, if any other than Moulds. I don't blame Moulds entirely for it, but there comes a time when you have to acknowledge that it may be time to move on. At this point, I view him to be at a similar point in his career as Andre Reed around 1998 or so. He'll still get some catches and is an above average possession reciever, but the big plays aren't there anymore. The real problem is that Moulds has never been overly consistent, either.

Would you be happy if McGahee was averaging 3.0 yards per carry? No. He's getting opportunities, he's making some yards, but you expect a lot more from a starter getting as many chances as he has. There's really no other explanation for it, unless Moulds had a tantrum on the sidelines or something.

Dumb decision? Reed was open. If anything, it was thrown behind Reed. Had he led him a little, it would be 30-3.

I don't blame him for the bad OL, inconsistent QB play, or the playcalling. I do, however, blame him for not doing more with the opportunities given to him. He's caught about 60 passes. Its hard to excuse 9.5 yards average on those catches. I think age and injuries have caught up to him. The Bills seem to be realizing that its time to move on. They need to see what their young WRs can do with Moulds off the field.

It was a 'coaches decision'. Seems rather obvious in that light that it was due to ineffectiveness. At the very least, they want to see what happens when he's out of the lineup.

Ineffectiveness is my guess. 9.5 yards per catch this year, folks. The QBs haven't helped, but that's still awful. For comparison, Larry Centers averaged 9.0 yards per catch his last year in Buffalo.

Its happening very quickly, actually. It takes most QBs about 3 years of starts to really start to 'get it'. Based on what I've seen for the last month, I think he's still got a long way to go, but he's ahead of schedule, IMO. He's been our best offensive player in that span, even if he is not yet consistent.

The Bills may be bad, but the Dolphins are awful. Yes, this is a game the Bills can win and probably should win. 17-10 Bills.

They're just now figuring that one out??? He hasn't been the same since playing with injury in 2003.

Mularkey has never had a top receiving TE to work with, so I don't think we can automatically assume that he would not find a way to use one in his offense. Guys like Campbell, Euhus and Mark Bruener aren't going to scare anyone and aren't guys that you feature in a passing game.
