  1. Like the Yankees, it's always good to see a Patriots season go down in flames. However, we have a quandry: Did Manning lead his team from an 18 point deficit, or did the Patriots blow it? I gotta give all the credit in the world to Peyton Manning. All of his naysayers, who said he couldn't win the big game: SHUT THE HELL UP!! (and did the Pats give him some help? Probably.) This wasn't the same Patriot team we've seen the last five years, and I think the dynasty may have ended tonight. But, I thought I saw the three Mensas on the CBS postgame show (not you, James Brown) be visibly upset that they couldn't give their yearly you-know-whats to Brady and Belichick and the Mighty Bruschi (We're Not Worthy!). Now we have the Colts Comeback. You deserve it, Indianapolis. Celebrate all night.
  2. Um, "BM" doesn't work for me.
  3. How many trailer parks are within the town limits of Disgusting?
  4. Colts get over the Patriot hump. Saints continue their magical ride. But Peyton & Co. will give Indianapolis their first pro sports title since the Pacers were in the ABA in the 70s. Colts 38, Saints 21.
  5. Oh, boy. I want to see how many "go to hell" posts YOU have at the end of the day.
  6. Gee, I'm here in the Cleveland suburbs this AM, with a couple of inches of snow on the ground. Everybody just goes about their daily business...it would take a blizzard to shut us down in January.
  7. All I have to say is "Whoa!" Hang on, my friends, for a great ride this year.
  8. Go Colts. Hope they blow out the Pats this Sunday so ESPN can stop cowtowing to The Mighty Brady.
  9. America's Team...the New Orleans Saints. The whole friggin' country outside of Chicago should be rooting for them this Sunday. I know I will be.
  10. Thank you for your research and fine work.
  11. The afternoon drive guy on the channel is Kid Leo, a legendary DJ here in Cleveland in the 70s and 80s on WMMS, which helped get the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame here. I grew up listening to Kid Leo and he recently played one of the best songs I've heard in a long time...a cover of the old Johnny Cash classic "Ring of Fire" by a band called Social Distortion. After that was a song called "No More" by Bob Seger (another of my favorites). I've heard new stuff, as well as 50 year old tracks on this channel. Underground Garage plays exactly the kind of music that terrestrial radio never seems to touch, and I think a lot of credit for that goes to the program director, Steven Van Zandt...yes, Little Steven himself. The Kid always played "Born to Run" as his last song on Fridays...he was the first DJ west of Philadelphia to play Bruce Springsteen. I was too young to see Springsteen in the mid 70s, but I understand some of his concerts at the old Cleveland Agora were unbelievable. I simply love music...classical, rock, 80s, pop, standards...one of the reasons why I have Sirius. That, and the Blue Collar Comedy channel, which always runs Foxworthy or Engvall once an hour.
  12. I have a top of the line Norelco. I can't remember the last time I shaved with a blade. Of course, I'm also 37, fair-skinned, and can't grow a beard to save my life, so it really doesn't matter.
  13. How about some of Debbie Gibson or Tiffany? I preferred Tiffany (something about that red hair), but my college roommate was in lust for Debbie Gibson (he had two posters of her up in our room...and yes, he was/is heterosexual ). I think both have posed in Playboy. I know for sure that Tiffany has. Comments?
  14. I once saw MOFO 1 here in Ohio -- it was probably about 15 years ago.
  15. You've come to the right place. The Rock Hall is a good place to visit...I've only been there twice (you know how you never visit an attraction when you live nearby), but admission is expensive...now in the $20.00 range. Next door to the Rock Hall on the lakefront is the Great Lakes Science Center. An even better museum than the Rock Hall, and much less pricey. You can't miss these two museums; they're both next to Browns Stadium. If you're interested in beer, I also recommend a visit to the Great Lakes Brewing Company. It's right across from the West Side Market, which is just over the bridge from Downtown and Jacobs Field. Not only is it a brewery, it has what is supposed to be a killer restaurant (I've never been there to eat, but have only heard good things about the food). PM me if you need any other information. http://www.rockhall.com/ http://www.greatscience.com/ http://www.greatlakesbrewing.com/
  16. Kentucky wasn't too bad this year. They actually won a bowl game, beating Clemson. I saw Big Blue had 40,000 fans for the Music City Bowl in Nashville. Vandy has been competitive the last few years, largely thanks to Jay Cutler. Mississippi State was good under Jackie Sherrill in the mid- to late-90s. But you're right about them scheduling bottom-rung 1-A and even some 1-AA teams, who are largely in search of a nice check.
  17. Um, Wisconsin's won the Rose Bowl twice this decade. Michigan has a national title in the last 10 years. Ohio State has one in the past five years, and played for another. Illinois has played in a BCS bowl in the past six years. Even Northwestern has been to several bowl games since 1995. But, I will say that the SEC is the nation's most competitive conference. First ever to have nine bowl teams in a single season.
  18. I forgot to say this: Congratulations to the Florida Gators. They deserve to be National Champions.
  19. For no other reason than most of the Michigan fans I've known love it when Ohio State goes down. The feeling has been mutual, but you're right, it is pretty silly and it does suck for the conference.
  20. I'm not sure who else the Buckeyes lose at this point. Ginn will declare (hopefully his foot is OK). One thing that is on the bright side here: there has been a LOT of talk among Browns fans about taking Troy Smith with the third pick in the draft. Where are those Mensas this morning?
  21. #2 in both polls. Sorry.
  22. Oh. Right. In all seriousness, Ohio State got clobbered in every possible way. Is it a case of resting on their laurels, or losing Ginn in the first quarter? No, I think Florida was simply the better team last night. The Buckeyes were outcoached, outplayed, out-run, and just flat out lost...badly. And Ginn would NOT have made much of a difference...the margin probably would have been 20 rather than 27. I was at a friend's house watching the game on his big-screen TV. Late in the second quarter, we turned on wrestling on USA. Fortunately, I missed Troy Smith's sack and fumble. I left at halftime, partly because I was so disgusted with the game, and partly because I was very tired and almost fell asleep in my friend's recliner. When I got home, I had a beer (an O'Doul's, since the real stuff is probably not good for my tummy in such a situation) and fell asleep in my own recliner. When I woke up at 1:00 AM, all the festivities were over and "Seinfeld" was on. Ohio State got royally B word-slapped. It's that simple. I have to go to Columbus on Friday morning for court, and I'm sure people down there will still be in a foul mood. This is the biggest win by an underdog team since the Patriots beat the Rams in the Super Bowl. The only people in Ohio happy today are Michigan fans and the city of Ashtabula, 130 miles SW of Buffalo...Urban Meyer's hometown (yes, both coaches in last night's game are from Northeast Ohio).
  23. Just a few more hours... da da da da, da da da da GO BUCKS!!
  24. http://www.wknr.com/ ...but I couldn't get it to work.
