  1. This was a 3.6. The one I remember was a 5.1 in January 1986 that I think everyone in Cleveland felt.
  2. Congrats! Recently, I got news that my brother and his wife are expecting their second child, to join 13 month old Brian.
  3. I didn't feel it, but it's all over the news here. I'm about 50 miles from the epicenter. No reports of damage. Quakes here are rare, but not unheard of. This is our first earthquake in the area since September 25, 1998. How do I remember the date? It happened 20 minutes after Kim and I got engaged. The joke I told was that when I finally got engaged, the earth moved.
  4. I watched that game. My brother is a Miami alumnus, and I got accepted to law school at Akron. I don't see the Miamis beating Oregon...but strange things happen in March Madness.
  5. Actually, both Akron and Kent State (21-11) didn't make the NIT. But Toledo (19-12) did! The first time I can ever remember Akron and Kent winning 20+ in the same season...with no reward.
  6. You mean Hilary Swank there. I think. There's a reason she's won two Oscars...for playing a female boxer and a male impostor.
  7. And then...Akron got jobbed by the NIT as well! Freaking 26-7 and stay home.
  8. Maybe it was because Loni's character on the show really wasn't all that nice, in retrospect.
  9. I think you're correct. It was a Saturday night game that ended early Sunday morning. Father's Day, I believe.
  10. I thought Niagara got jobbed with the play-in game. They should win (I hope they don't get tripped up), and earn the right to get rototilled by the Jayhawks in the first round.
  11. Scarlett saying she looks like a boy? That's one of the dumber things I've heard recently. If she looks like a boy, does that mean we get to use the same locker room?
  12. I would like to see this one. What would Sarah Silverman think of "300"?
  13. Akron's gonna get jobbed...they're 26-7, but that painful loss to Miami (Ohio) last night kills them.
  14. Oh, man, I remember him as Jim Carrey's best friend in "The Mask". RIP Richard.
  15. REM = overrated Phish -- just goes to show that lots of pot smoking doesn't make your songs better.
  16. I can't believe some of the responses here. Boston has been one of the great bands of the last 30 years, even though they have only released six albums, one of which is a compilation of greatest hits. Their debut album is STILL the biggest selling first album in history at 17 million copies. Mariah didn't do that. Whitney didn't do that. None of the glorified lounge singers from "American Idol" have done that. Their music stands the test of time...it is still some of the greatest and most melodic rock music ever made. Tom Scholz is a perfectionist (not to mention a very, very smart man who holds several patents on guitar equipment design). That's the big reason why Boston averaged six years between releases. That's also why CBS sued the band for breach of contract in the early 80s. "More Than A Feeling", "Don't Look Back", "Amanda" (their only No. 1 single), "We're Ready", "Long Time"...you always knew when you were listening to a Boston song. Those of you who do not appreciate their music, I would say rent the CDs from your local library and give them a listen. Boston, IMO, is the closest thing that rock music has had to a classical orchestra, the musical stylings of Jim Steadman notwithstanding. So, ExiledInIllinois is correct on that. According to their Wikipedia entry, Boston had a new album and a tour this summer in the works. I hope that they go through with both of those in Brad's memory. RIP, Brad Delp.
  17. A much more important question from WKRP: Jennifer or Bailey? I say Bailey...something about neurotic yet attractive females who sometimes wear glasses.
  18. Hmmm...no sexy time for her then. BTW, Borat has been banned in Russia and in most Muslim countries. I never said Sarah Silverman should be banned. I don't believe in censorship, partially because I spent four years at a Christian college, where saying certain things could get you expelled. And because political correctness, in any form, is simply wrong.
  19. No, I haven't seen Borat. I would like to...wonder what he would think of Sarah Silverman.
  20. I guess this is what I was trying to say all along. But, I found it offensive. Once again, I will admit that. And it takes a LOT to offend me. Many of you must find me to be a prude at this point, judging by some of the responses on this board. I don't think I called anyone any names up to now...even Sarah Silverman.
  21. Ooh kay...is the sarcasm button off yet? I think that this is a matter of personal preference. I didn't care much for Sarah Silverman before all this started, either. And as far as Howard Stern is concerned, hey, Sarah Silverman is Jewish too! So are many entertainers, as we all know.
  22. I was just kidding re: Takeo...but the Browns do come first.
  23. But the question is, since girls don't fart, do they pee instead?
  24. Why trade an RB only a few years in for draft picks? When his worst year still almost got him 1000 yards? When the Bills were poised for bigger and better things? Now, that guy (Jason whats-his-name) says his Jets could wind up 5-1 in the division next year because they will sweep the Dolphins and Bills. I say, keep dreaming. We all knew this was happening...that Willis was gone. Better to get something now for him instead of letting him walk away for nothing at the end of this year. But, I'm not looking forward to the Browns playing him twice a year. Oh, and this ESPN guy also said WM's Toronto Bills comment was taken too seriously by an overly sensitive city of Buffalo. Memo to Willis...don't let the door hit you on the @$$ on the way out of town. And you might want to pick up some prophylactics at the Seneca Nation convenience store on your way to Baltimore. I hear that town's the STD capital of the world.
