Ownage captured by Google Maps....
buckeyemike replied to CajunBillsBacker's topic in Off the Wall Archives
It's about 10 miles from where I live. The neighborhood has seen better days. -
You mean the little green alien on The Flintstones?

I've been a faithful watcher (when I've been up that late) of Letterman for over 20 years. Maybe he isn't what he once was...but at age 61, post-heart surgery, and post-kidnapping scare for his kid, how good would you be? Letterman was born to do what he does.

When the Bills are on the clock...........
buckeyemike replied to elegantelliotoffen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Today, that would be true. But Gilligan's Island was on TV forty years ago. The best you could hope for back then would be Barbara Eden's genie pants slipping down enough to reveal a glimpse of the forbidden navel...and to my knowledge, that never happened either. -
Mel Kipers "Myspace" Page

From Jolt Cola: Mel, we'd like to increase our profile in the national market...and we think you're our guy. Drop the Red Bull and we'll give you an unlimited supply of Jolt during draft weekend. You have to promise not to give any to Berman though. That fat tub of s--- got addicted in '93 and wipped out our entire East Coast supply. Classic!!! -
I tend to agree, but what do you do to get the guy to talk? Waterboarding? Oops, can't do that. The civil libertarians will have a field day. I believe it wasn't just McVeigh and Nichols. They had plenty of help, but from where, we'll probably never know.

I guess "Collateral Damage" is a Wesley Snipes film that will never get made, then.

Do you fart in front of or on your wife/girlfriend?
buckeyemike replied to EndZoneCrew's topic in Off the Wall Archives
An ex-boyfriend of my wife's burned his butt while doing that. The question is, does she fart in your presence? There are two schools of thought on this: 1) If you're both doing it in front of the other person, the honeymoon's over. 2) If you're both doing it in front of the other, have contests to see whose farts are nastier. Um...I won't say which school we subscribe to... -

WR James Hardy might not get past KC at #17
buckeyemike replied to ans4e64's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with this assessment. The Chiefs might be looking at the #1 overall pick next year. They need bodies, not skill players. They may use all those picks to load up on the lines. -
Happy birthday, girl! So she hasn't been around..did she get pissed at AJ or something?

Jared Allen, DE to be traded to Vikings
buckeyemike replied to In space no one can hear's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Chefs are in full-fledged rebuilding mode. Why keep a malcontent like Jared Allen? This is a great move by KC...potentially a great move by the Vikings, but if Allen slips up once more, he's probably gone for a year. Kansas City now has a whopping 14 draft picks...at least two in each round except the second (three in the third round). They're probably not getting out of the AFC West cellar this year, but this could set up their future. -
The Chiefs, who are in full-fledged rebuilding mode, made this trade to get draft picks and to get rid of a potential cancer in Jared Allen. For a 4-12 team that will probably repeat that record, Allen wasn't worth the trouble. I had Sirius NFL Radio on this morning and all the Vikings fans calling in were very happy with the trade. However, if I were a member of the Red Sea in Kansas City, I would be happy as well. I don't know if the Vikings are the favorite in the NFC with this trade. One more misstep by Allen, and he could be gone for a year, under the NFL's substance abuse policy. Allen has already had two DUIs. Yes, Jared Allen led the NFL in sacks last year, but again, his team was bad, losing their last nine games. If the Vikes were looking to hit a grand slam here, it's a big risk. The Chiefs got the most important thing they could get -- draft picks. They now have 14, more than any other NFL team. The only round KC doesn't have multiple picks in is Round 2. They have three in Round 3.

Family Guy Fans. I have some questions.
buckeyemike replied to Steely Dan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Family Guy might be the only show on TV I consistently watch these days. I have been catching up with South Park online, however. If I see Quagmire, I know I'm good for at least one belly laugh per episode. -
Didn't Chef Jim have to evacuate his home last fall b/c the fires got too close? I seem to remember something like that.

If an 8.0 earthquake happens at the New Madrid area (which has about a 1 in 10 chance of happening, since that was about the strength of the 1811 quake), the following would occur: *Major destruction of two of America's largest cities (St. Louis and Memphis). *Damage as far away as Chicago and Cincinnati, and perhaps more minor damage farther away. *Disruption of commerce on the Mississippi River for an unknown length of time. *Death toll in the thousands. *As many as 75 million people affected (nearly 25% of this country's population). *Losses in the hundreds of billions of dollars. *Farming would be affected adversely, resulting in higher prices and possible shortages. *More problems with oil. It would be the worst disaster that this country has ever faced. We better pray it doesn't happen.

That rumor probably cost Marino a shot at quarterbacking the Steelers. Look at who went in front of him in that 6 QB first round. Marino was the last of the six taken at #27. #1 -- John Elway, Baltimore (we all know what happened there). #7 -- Todd Blackledge, Kansas City (you have GOT to be kidding me). #14 -- Jim Kelly, Buffalo (see #1). #15 -- Tony Eason, New England (promising career ruined by the beatdown the Bears put on him in Super Bowl XX). #24 -- Ken O'Brien, NY Jets (good career, nowhere near what Marino had). #27 -- Marino. At #21, the Steelers took Gabriel Rivera, a defensive tackle from Texas Tech who was paralyzed in a drunk driving accident his rookie season. Marino, of course, was there for the taking, and could have led some decent Steeler teams of the late 80s deep into the playoffs.

There's no wonder in this bra! And as far as Steely Dan is concerned, you'd be hitting on 316 if she were sitting on a barstool next to you.
-
This was a huge hit in early 1987...#1 for four weeks, IIRC.
-
They weren't a one-hit wonder. They were at least a two-hit wonder. This was actually their bigger hit in the United States, topping out at #3. "Final Countdown" only went to #9 in America, but topped the charts in a whopping 25 other countries.

Do you refrigerate your ketchup?
buckeyemike replied to Phil Indablanc's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I will tell my wife that. She's the one who got me doing it. -
And remember folks, this is the next generation...at least for Colorado, anyway. Heaven help us.

These are the same people in the pot smoke-out at the University of Colorado yesterday.

In other news, every 7-11 and Safeway in the Boulder area ran out of Funyuns and Munchos on Sunday.
