Braylon Edwards' "5-Hour Energy Ad"
buckeyemike replied to The Dean's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I've actually used this stuff when I've had a long day. It does work, but you get a bit flushed at first because of all the niacin it contains. There's no guarana, so you don't have to worry about that. Be warned, though. I've felt like climbing the walls the first 20 minutes or so after drinking it, then you settle down. The key is to use it when only absolutely necessary. I also thought this was a local commercial at first, but it is a national one. I've only seen it a couple of times. The site that this is from is a local site about Cleveland sports (thus, "waiting for next year" ). Read the comment, though, about the guy in Florida who dropped his cup when he saw the ad. -
From Focus on the Family Action...

That's only when the Mayan calendar ends. I've heard a new one begins in December of that year. -
Linky As I am a Christian and a Republican, it might surprise you to know how I feel about this letter. It is long (16 pages in a PDF file), and you may not want to read it all, but you get the general idea in the first few pages. I find it to be fear-mongering. It is greatly disappointing and disturbing to me that fellow Christians have sunk this low, to try to scare people into voting for John McCain. As for me, I already voted absentee for McCain, so you can take that for what it's worth. I cannot believe that someone at Focus approved this letter as a hypothetical under an Obama administration. Its intent is to sway undecideds towards McCain, who isn't as conservative as James Dobson would like, but is the lesser of two evils. I've already printed this up and am keeping it for the next four years, so I can write Focus on October 23, 2012 and tell them how wrong they are. If Obama wins, that is. This makes me livid. Focus should lose its tax exemption for such garbage. We live in a free America and should not be subject to half-truths and hand-wringing speculation over what may happen, in order to scare someone to vote for one side over the other.

Hell, I'm almost 40 and I still have raging hormones. Note the new Alyssa Milano avatar. That's the Bills logo on the lower left corner of her shirt. So true. Thanks Dr. Lecter.

Are all these teachers not getting any from their husbands or boyfriends? Or do they just like "fresh meat"?

This is too bad. Winslow, when he's been on the field, has played hard. Problem is, he was a spoiled brat as a kid b/c of his father's success and just never grew up. I know where Winslow lives...not too far from me, actually. In fact, it's about 200 yards from where he wiped out his motorcycle. I can go egg his house if you want.

1) The Office 2) Mad Men 3) CSI (the original, but I like CSI: New York as well)

I don't really have a problem with this, but I think there should be heavy penalties for pimps using juveniles, as Wacka said. The sex slave trade is much heavier than people realize. No one should ever be forced to become a prostitute.

Sometimes people who smoke pot are wildly successful. I think of Peter Lewis, who founded Progressive Insurance, and is largely retired at this point. He's spreading the wealth around Cleveland; he has a building named after him at Case and also put Progressive's name on the former Jacobs Field. He's probably nearing 65 and is worth over a billion dollars. He's also a huge ganja smoker. Lewis has given quite a bit of money to NORML, among other organizations, moving to legalize weed. I also think that Lewis and the guy you spoke of are the exception. Most of the people I know personally who toke aren't the most ambitious people in the world.

Guess you're not going to Alaska anytime soon. Unless you want to be shot and field-stripped like a moose. I told you, Alaskans are a different breed. They're much more independent-minded than most other Americans. It probably stems from being so far away from the rest of the country. Ask Darin about that.

This is going to happen at some point, because James Dobson's not going to live forever. I think we may see a return to the principles of Barry Goldwater, who is one of my few political heroes. He was the one who once said that every good Christian should kick Jerry Falwell in the (rear).

It's not up on YouTube yet. Um...not that I check those things out or anything.

He's both. He is a wacky guy, but I think that motorcycle accident two decades ago may have messed up his mind.

Linky. Certainly an interesting read, but I'm not sure what to make of it.

I actually think that's more likely than Toronto getting a second team. Hamilton's been trying since about 1985. The main problem in Hamilton is Copps Coliseum. That is not a modern NHL building, so they would have to build a new one. Anybody on the Niagara Frontier got an extra $350 million Canadian or so to spend?

Hey Lori...Big Game This Saturday, eh?
buckeyemike replied to buckeyemike's topic in College Football
I tend to agree. If the Lions prevail on Saturday, I think they finish the regular season at 12-0. Of course, I said the same thing about Wisconsin a few weeks ago before they lost to Michigan, so what do I know? Lori, this should be a great game Saturday night. It also goes up against Game 3 of the World Series and my wife's birthday party. I bought her an iPod. Don't tell her. -
Passed away at age 73. He suffered from either dementia or Alzheimer's, probably brought on in part by his football career. Anyone who saw his HOF induction last year knows he was not well. IIRC, he had to fight for pension benefits and health care coverage from the NFL once he started to get sick.

Ask Olivier. He would know.

Slightly the other way then...thanks. -
#3 Penn State at #9 Ohio State (BCS Rankings) 8:00 at Ohio Stadium...105,000+ at the Horseshoe. ESPN Gameday in Columbus on Saturday. National TV audience for what I hope will be Terelle Pryor's coming out party. Part of that may have been this past game, when the Buckeyes waxed Michigan State up in East Lansing. And I know that Saturday is your birthday, because as you know, you and my wife Kim share not only the same birthday but the very same birthdate. I haven't seen any initial lines yet for the game. I have to believe it's close, but slightly toward Ohio State, since this is a home game. GO BUCKS!

Four touchdowns by Bills Marshawn runs for one-twenty Buffalo still first. -
It's hard to believe Shatner's in his late 70s. He seems to be getting better with age.

Not doing Obama (he does skewer him, however, as Bush), but his McCain's pretty good.

Trent Edwards Conversation...

That was only after Terry Kath, who was the real leader of the group, killed himself in 1978. If you've heard some of Chicago's new stuff (XXX, Stone of Sisyphus), they went back in the progressive direction.
