DJ wants Joe the plumber dead.
buckeyemike replied to erynthered's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
So you're German? That's the incorrect use of "the" in German. For the masculine, it should be "Der Joe Der". -
Stay out of my state. We have enough problems.

Will white people who think they are black riot?

This is who I am. This is how I represent. -
So, I finally traded in my '01 Taurus. I bought one of the last remaining 2008 Dodge Avengers in this area. I love the design of the car, and for a 4-cylinder, it certainly has a lot of horses under the hood. The Avenger I bought also has a MyGig system, which includes a built-in Sirius Radio and a DVD player (you can only play DVDs when the car is not moving). I got a good deal, too. This is the time to buy. Can't complain about that.

New BCS Standings...Alabama #1, Texas Tech #2, Penn State #3. Alabama and Texas Tech now control their own destinies. This is the first time the Tide's been #1 in the regular season since 1980, and it's Texas Tech's highest ranking ever.

I think Penn State finishes unbeaten. Alabama won't because of LSU and/or Florida. Tech now should control their own destiny. If they run the table (and that's a tall order), then the Red Raiders should play for the national championship. They have to go to Norman, though. Although they beat Oklahoma last year, I just don't see it happening. And don't forget Oklahoma State next week; the Cowboys are perfectly capable of tripping up Texas Tech. That was one heck of a game last night. The finish was unbelievable.

Poll: Hottest Female Sportscaster

I have to agree with you on Bonnie. I actually put her second to Erin. Third would be Suzy Kolber...I can't explain why. Something about that smile and those puppy-dog brown eyes. I know several on this board who think she's AC/DC, though (at the very least). Suzi did have a kid out of wedlock at age 44 (last spring), and has kept mum on the paternity. Anyone seen Joe Namath recently? -
Oh, Lori.........................

Lori's not "someone". Read her previews...she knows about as much as anyone and spends a LOT of time in preparation, research, and writing. Don't be a jerk. -
You fuggers are really getting old!

I'm willing to give you Raquel. But yeah, she's obviously had work done. And from what I understand, she's not the world's nicest person. Susan Lucci still looks good. BTW, I know her younger sister. Really. She works for a judge in Cleveland...the sister's about 10 years younger. -
Unlike many on this board, King of the Hill was one of my favorites. Nevertheless, it probably jumped the shark a few years ago, because recent episodes are nowhere near as good as the early ones. The Simpsons suffers from the same exact problem, yet it's at 20 years and counting. KOTH goes into the record books as the second longest-running animated show ever at 13 seasons.

Consider Yourself Warned!!!!

Um, I'm speechless. Janet Porter (nee Janet Folger) graduated from the same place I went to law school, Cleveland State University. We may have even gone there at the same time (she looks around 40 to me), although I did not know her. I am pro-life, as most of you know, and I voted for McCain. Nevertheless, although I will defend her right to write and say what she wants until my dying day, I cannot in good conscience support what she wrote here. If you read my post on the Focus on the Family Action Letter, you already know how I feel. She's from Cleveland. Imagine that the same part of Cleveland gave the world her and Dennis Kucinich. -
4 more days til we elect Obama

We are in deep, there's no doubt about that. How do you eliminate terrorists (or better yet, terrorism), when they only understand the end of a bayonet? And I do agree with you...the scapegoating of Muslims has to end. I have nothing against Muslims; only the ones that hate our guts and want to kill us. -
Can We All Agree That......

Gee, I'm a Christian and I wanted to dress up today, but I couldn't because I had appointments. I wanted to dress up as a woman, in order to indulge my secret crossdressing fetish, but I couldn't this Halloween. Oh well. -

Yes, we are a nation of professional victims now. Or haven't you noticed? Try watching TV, any channel, about 2:00 on a weekday afternoon. Watch the P.I. lawyer ads, the credit counseling ads. It's not your fault that your life sucks anymore. It's someone else's fault, and dammit, you need to be compensated. -

"I'm an elitist, I hate Israel, and I want to lose the war in Iraq," Oh man, is that ever funny. But I wonder if some of his supporters will demand that the Onion comply with the fairness doctrine (or threaten to burn down their offices). We'll see if this one gets around, and if some of these liberals have a sense of humor.

This sounds like it should be in The Onion. -
One of my favorite films is The Buddy Holly Story. I'll be honest, the film has a lot of flaws (one of the most egregious of which is seeing mountains in the background of a scene that is supposed to take place in flat-as-a-pancake Lubbock, Texas). However, Busey's performance makes the film not only watchable, but enjoyable; and the music certainly doesn't hurt, either. Gary Busey's claim to fame prior to playing Buddy Holly was being the last character killed on Gunsmoke. Busey did his own singing and guitar work in the film depicting the last few years of Holly's life. Busey literally carries that film, moreso than I've ever seen any other actor carry a movie. He almost becomes Buddy Holly right before your eyes. It's the role he was born to play, and his Best Actor Oscar nomination was well deserved (he lost the award to Jon Voight). He's certainly had his moments since (he was terrific in both the first Lethal Weapon and Under Siege), but he seems to be more noted now for his crazy behavior, and as I said, I think a lot of his problems stem from that near-fatal motorcycle accident.

News story from NFL,com. This is a bad situation for the former Bengals star, and a player I always respected, despite the fact that I hate the Bengals. The picture of his knee may be a little much for those with sensitive stomachs. Williams is only 54, yet he has to use two canes to walk. He has had 18 knee surgeries, and has had problems with infections in his right knee. Both of his knees have been replaced. I look at Williams and wonder, is this where today's players are headed in 20-30 years? I remember Williams as a standout linebacker. I have problems picturing him like this now. BTW, Williams says to keep an eye on Buffalo this season: "I played against (Bills coach) Dick Jauron in the Ivy League and with him on the Bengals. His quiet demeanor belies a fierce competitiveness."

San Francisco, for all its faults, is the better city. And I have family in the Bay Area, so I may be a bit biased.

Rock Concerts for Fading Music Acts
buckeyemike replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
About 10 years back, I remember that Blue Oyster Cult was playing in a bar nearby. I didn't go, but I read the review...apparently less than 100 people were there. This was before the "More Cowbell" sketch on SNL and their "resurgence" (such as it's been).
