  1. Yep. Good stuff.
  2. Thank you. I was at the Boneyard (a local sports bar and grill) last night with my wife and my in-laws...we saw the end of the Cavaliers and Pistons. Lots of applause afterward, but kind of stilted, b/c the Cavs haven't won anything yet.
  3. I think I saw that ad once, about 15 years ago. And on reading this thread, I remembered exactly what ad you were talking about, so no one can question that it's at least memorable.
  4. I thought she was much better on the Golden Girls than Maude. RIP
  5. Hopefully, that will end in about 8 weeks. GO CAVS!!
  6. Because nobody likes to tell the truth when it comes to such things. In Ohio, beer and wine are available at grocery stores. Ohio used to have state-controlled liquor stores, but those were phased out in the early 90s and private sellers took over in exchange for paying a commission to the department of liquor control. So, by that rule, grocery stores can carry hard liquor (many of the chain stores do) if they are licensed and pay the commission fee.
  7. Well, this makes a LOT of sense. It's the same with prohibition, which I am convinced started b/c of the hatred of German immigrants...especially around World War I. If this is true, why am I still on the outside? And BTW, I totally agree with grunt. Freud was a jackass, even though I love reading about how "moral" people were supposed to be in the Victorian era. That was a false morality, I believe, without the Christian element.
  8. Well, we will see what the study says in a couple of weeks. I didn't sleep very well, and the plug they put in my nose kept bothering me. I think I may have pulled one of the monitoring wires out in my sleep as well. They woke me at 5:15 after only about five hours of sleep.
  9. This is why I'm having the study done: 1) I snore. A lot, and quite heavily. I've actually snored while dozing off at the computer screen. That happened just the other day. 2) Kim swore I stopped breathing in my sleep about a month ago. That scared me. 3) Obstructive sleep apnea contributed to Reggie White's death.
  10. My doctor thinks I have obstructive sleep apnea and I'm going to be monitored tonight at a local sleep center. They will attach electrodes to me and keep track of my breathing. I'm sure the fact I have asthma doesn't help matters. I'm also overweight, but I'm finally eating better and starting to drop some pounds. Supposedly, these are factors. Anyone else ever get this done?
  11. Happy birthday to the lovely Lana!!!
  12. I still think Curry's headed for Kansas City at #3. He's really the best overall player available in the draft, but Detroit's probably taking Stafford and the Rams really want that OT from Baylor. Kansas City is in the midst of a rebuilding program, but I think they're headed in the right direction, with the Cassel pickup and a decent draft last year. I think the Chiefs can't pass Curry up.
  13. BTW, I just read that everyone involved here seems to be British. That would explain an awful lot. England and Scotland are not really known for hot women, Keira Knightly and a handful of others notwithstanding. The post about how England shipped all their good genes to Australia nearly caused me to spit out my coffee.
  14. Only the faces have been photoshopped to protect the innocent. By the way, I'm only about halfway through it, but you just KNEW that thread would be a classic on page 1.
  15. Prom? That was in 1987, before she was even born. Good Lord, I'm old enough to be her father.
  16. I'd rather listen to ANYONE than Bayless.
  17. Five years ago, I had my first colonoscopy at age 34. Colon problems run in my family, so I am high risk. I am due for another one in the spring of 2011, prior to my 42nd birthday. Last time, I only had to drink the magnesium citrate. Two bottles. Tasted like very sour lemon soda pop. I also had to take the rest of the day off, because I couldn't risk being more than 30 feet away from a toilet. I remember feeling no pain after the procedure, but you feel very bloated. They don't let you go home until you start passing gas. One of the few times where farting is socially acceptable.
  18. Cavaliers all the way!!!
  19. Happy natal day, ya Longhorn bastard! J/K
  20. There's some sort of perceived rivalry between Dog River and Wullerton (spit). That's all I know. I haven't seen every episode (only about half of them) and it's never really been explained.
  21. All I can say is, thank God for Youtube: Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 I was reading the reviews of this from a couple of Canadian websites...high marks all around. Sounds like that Corner Gas went out on a very good note.
  22. I like that, Cincy. Thanks for reminding us.
