It was in 1995...after the announcement that the Browns were moving to Baltimore. The team was out of the playoff race at the time. I think they were 4-8. One writer joked that it was the first time in the history of football that a losing team ran up the score. Mike

Are we talking GW asinine here? Mike P.S. Remember, Bill Belichick, Genius, once had the Cleveland Browns kick a field goal with no time left against the San Diego Chargers. Problem was, the Browns were down 31-10 at the time. Bill wasn't always the Smartest Football Coach on Earth.

I think you had to go for it there. Time was running out. And don't forget, Lindell's not the most reliable kicker on earth. Mike

Drew completed a 55 yd pass on the first play. How many of us saw THAT coming? Travis started slow, but picked up as the game went on. The kickoff return was superb...McGee knew EXACTLY where the blocks were. The Bills committed WAY, WAY too many mental errors...especially with the game on the line...too many penalties, not a fumble or a missed block, ultimately killed them. Travis has got to learn to stop slipping on Astroplay. Travis DID NOT FUMBLE today. They have to find plays for McGahee...bring him in as a fourth or fifth wideout... Something tells me McGahee is hurting, and that's why they are not using him. A missed assignment caused the fumble on 4th and 3...it was NOT a bad time to go for it...I would have done EXACTLY the same thing. I saw a team that could have been much more demoralized hang with the defending world champions for 57+ minutes today. These are growing pains...I know this is tough to hear, but it takes time to adjust to a new coach, OC, DC and system. This team will win. Again. Those who are gonna jump into the Niagara River need to be patient. Mike

I know the Browns stay in a hotel prior to a home game...they have the Washington Redskins at home today. That wasn't always the case...they started doing that shortly after "The Drive". To this day, I think if they had stayed in a hotel the night before, the Browns would have beaten Denver in January '87 and gone to the Super Bowl. Well, I'm off to church and then the game at Dave & Buster's in Westlake. GO BILLS!! STOMP MARSHA AND THE PATSIES!! Mike

I'm sure the Bills stay in a hotel prior to a home game. Most NFL teams do, even when playing at home. It provides a feeling of camraderie. And I'm certain they are NOT in the same hotel as the Patriots. It used to be that most NFL teams stayed in Marriotts the night before a game. That was because Sam Huff, the Hall of Fame linebacker, worked for Marriott. Huff and NFL teams worked out some sort of a deal that provided lodging at Marriotts, apparently at a discount, to NFL teams. My dad worked at Marriott's HQ in Bethesda, Maryland in the '60s and knew Huff, although not real well. That's how I know the story. Mike

Rico may be right...Purdue's looking better and better. A 33-27 OT loss isn't the end of the world. Mike

Ugh. Hope Zwick and Santonio can lead a comeback. Otherwise, you can probably kiss the BCS hopes goodbye. Mike

to Northwestern. I feared the Buckeyes might have their hands full...it's a nationally televised game, and the Wildcats have held OSU to 39 yards rushing in the first half. This game has "trap" written all over it. The Buckeyes haven't lost to Northwestern since 1971, but the Wildcats are more than holding their own right now. Mike

Belichick would sooner hold a Christmas party for Cleveland media members than reveal his game plan on a TV show. Mike -
I haven't seen him all week. He must have lost his computer privileges at the library...I told him he couldn't download all that gay porn. At least the Felon fans lurk year round...but not since the season started! Mike

Cool. A big win for UB. Were you at the game, by chance? Mike

Has anybody already arrived at the stadium? I know that RV's can enter on Friday night. At least they used to be able to. With TD taking away Mark's beloved fried bologna from the club seats, I guess anything's possible. If anyone is already there, give a shout out. Mike

Thanks for the warning. I have a feeling this prediction comes true... Mike

13-10 Patriots...I'm not wavering. Congratulations on 4,000 posts!! I'm still working on 1,800. Mike

Release of new book - Buffalo Soul Lifters

Thanks so much. This is the most important thing...I've been wondering how Gus was doing. I still pray for him. Knowing Gus is well and laughing is much more important to me than tomorrow's game. Mike -
Grandmother has lung cancer

I know how you feel. I lost my grandma earlier this year to cancer...she lived a good long life and passed away at age 95. And my wife's grandma died in July of pneumonia. It's not been a real good year. I will say a prayer for you. Mike -
OK, A complaint about the RIP craze around here

OT- What were you doing 27 years ago?
buckeyemike replied to #89's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was in the 3rd grade 27 years ago today. Trying to figure out if the weather was good enough to ride my bike and probably beating up my little brother. God bless you today, Cindy. Mike -
BOOOOOOOOOO!! Mike

I love the Friday before a football game. Especially the Friday before a Bills home game, because everyone on this board is so jacked up. At least that's been the case in the past two seasons I've been on this board. Back in the day, when I was a Browns fan, Friday was my Orange Day. When I wore something Browns-related to support my formerly beloved team. I used to hate having to go to work or school because I wanted to begin concentrating on the game Sunday. My wish is for a good game Sunday...and good moods on the board on Monday. Mike

Honestly, D & B's is better and larger than Jillian's. The average D & B's is about six times the size of the Jillian's I've been to. The food is very good, and the video games on what they call their "Million Dollar Midway" are top-of-the-line. I'll probably be at the Cleveland location at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, watching the Bills. Mike

Eastern Hills, Walden Galleria in running... Dave & Buster's is a terrific entertainment complex, with branches all over the U.S. and Canada. Buffalo would dearly love to have a place like this! This is where I usually watch Bills games...at the Cleveland D & B's. Good food, too. Great wings, the way they should be, with blue cheese and celery sticks. Mike

True. And Mularkey will be prepared. I just don't see it happening right now. I've said it twice before this week, and I'll say it again: The defense plays well -- well enough to win -- but the problems on offense kill the Bills. For the third straight week, a 13-10 loss. Mike

The write-up didn't include the story of the cheerleader outfit at 5:30 this morning. I had heard that on the radio when I got up. Mike
