Great googily moogily. Mike -
Well, I'm glad I didn't watch that horrible piece of stevestojan that the Buckeyes laid out in Iowa City today. I know the team is overmatched right now, but come on. 33-7? I'm more upset at the score than the fact that Ohio State lost. This will have all of the Buckeye naysayers, who have largely been silent since John Cooper was fired, to come out of the woodwork and call for Tressel's head. We knew this was a young team, but if the defense is gonna give up 33 points to Iowa, there's not much the offense can do. As far as Tressel is concerned, he gets a pass in my book. He won a national title only two years ago. If it was with Cooper's players, well, that's far more than John Cooper did. Right now, the Buckeyes are struggling, and it's not going to be much easier with Purdue and Michigan still on the schedule. Tressel will right the ship. He had a history of doing just that at Youngstown State. This too shall pass, fellow Buckeye fans. Mike

for a plush toy. We were looking at a yearbook my wife had and there was a phrase my wife and some of her friends used in high school..."fish squeezers". I asked Kim about it. She remembers the phrase, but this was nearly 20 years ago and doesn't remember what it meant. This got the wheels a-turnin' in my head and I think this would be a good idea for something Bills fans can "squeeze" during Miami week. The plush dolphin would say things that could be construed as, shall we say, anti-dolphin. Or it could utter dolphin-in-distress sounds...whatever those may be. It could even come with its own noose to hang from. Got any other ideas? Mike

That’s what they live for in Buffalo
buckeyemike replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
People in Rust Belt cities (ie, Buffalo, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh) are WAY too sensitive. It comes from a feeling of inferiority to the bigger towns and the cities that have better weather. If you don't want to live in Buffalo, don't live there. If you do, make your community a better place. Elect mayors, commissioners, and other positions where the people you vote in don't feed at the public trough and act as if it's their right to lead you and tax you and make laws for you to follow. Start a business. Respond as if you have something to give to your fellow man. Don't have an attitude of "what's in it for me". And finally, remember how many times Dan Marino went to a Super Bowl Buffalo has several great assets: - abundant land - four seasons - relatively cheap cost of living (high taxes notwithstanding) - access to Canada - all the drinking water you could ever want, and of course, the Bills! SQUEEZE THE FISH!! Mike -

I predicted this the other day and I'm sticking to it: MM opens up the offense and the Bills win easily, 28-7. Mike -

Dude, you're taking lessons from Barry Brady. Good post. Mike -
I'm old enough to remember him with the Baltimore Colts. He was/is an LSU alum. Many forget he was the NFL MVP in 1976. And yes, he had a cannon for an arm. Mike

I'm having this wonderful dream...

I guess the dream turned into a nightmare. Miami outscored Louisville 27-7 in the last 21 minutes. Mike -
I just hope he remembers where the loo is. Mike

I'm having this wonderful dream...
buckeyemike replied to KYBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey, I'm having the same dream, only it's 31-14 Louisville. With Texas getting shut out by Oklahoma, it's a good last few days, notwithstanding what has happened with my Buckeyes. Mike -
I have a wonderful cat (he is actually my wife's)...his name is Doggie, because my wife thought he looked like a dog. I may post him and my wife, the lovely and talented Kimberly, as my new avatar in the near future. Doggie is almost 16 and has survived colon cancer and dystemper. He wasn't supposed to live the week when my wife got him...in 1989. BTW, there's an old urban legend that Zsa Zsa Gabor was on the Tonight Show with her pet cat on her lap. She asked Johnny Carson, "Would you like to pet my kitty?" He said, "Sure. Move the cat." Sadly, the story isn't true...and neither is the one where the female newscaster in Detroit asked the weatherman during the winter, "So Tom, where's that seven inches you promised me last night?" Good times on the board...good times. Mike

This is sad... look at the ticket prices on eBay
buckeyemike replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No PSL's, either. The Bills are about the only franchise left that doesn't have them for most of the seats (they do for the club seats). $350.00 would be terrific...if I lived in WNY, I'd have Bills season tickets, too. Mike -
I love the road jerseys; I just bought a London Fletcher one. The two-tone white and blue jerseys are among the coolest I've seen. They remind me of an AFL team...and when they wore them last Sunday against the Jets and their unis...it was a very retro effect. The home jerseys are horrid. The color combination looks terrible. Only wearing the white pants alleviates it...a little bit. The blue-on-blue is BAD. I wish they would have stuck with the old home jerseys and pants. Keep the road jerseys and wear them with the dark blue pants; that looks cool. Mike

Got the Bills 2005 Calendar...
buckeyemike replied to buckeyemike's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK, here's who we have featured on the 2005 Bills calendar by month: January -- Jeff Posey February -- Josh Reed (too bad he's not busy dropping the ball in the photo) March -- Lawyer Milloy April -- Travis Henry May -- Eric Moulds June -- Bobby Shaw (as noted ) July -- Mike Williams (not pushing himself away from the table) August -- Takeo Spikes September -- Nate Clements October -- London Fletcher November -- Aaron Schobel (not including the $25M contract) December -- Drew Bledsoe The cover has Drew dropping back to pass with Travis moving forward as if either in a pass pattern (probable) or to block (not bloody likely).
