  1. Only a few hear Cher pontificate Exhibit 1-A on why celebrities should not endorse political candidates, or even political causes. I don't care who she votes for, I just don't want to be treated like an idiot by someone who is much more famous, but apparently much less educated, than I am. Cher is a real piece of work...in more ways than one. Mike
  2. I agree, the Bills should win as they look better on paper than the Cardinals. But, there's a reason the NFL doesn't play games on paper. I saw a Cards team with a LOT of heart yesterday. Buffalo will have to come out prepared and firing on all cylinders, because Arizona will challenge them. Mike
  3. Thought you might like a link to the Boldin story. Anquan hopes to return for Bills game. If they get Boldin and Fitzgerald in as wideouts at the same time, assuming of course Anquan is activated, the Bills' secondary is in serious trouble. Mike
  4. and the Cardinals looked pretty good today...much better than they have been in the past. Emmitt ran for over 100 yards, Josh McCown is going to be a star in this league (his brother Luke may be the Browns' starter in three years) and Larry Fitzgerald was impressive, with a TD catch. Anquan Boldin may also be ready to come back next week. Even the Cards' defense is playing well. Starks had an INT, which set up the clinching touchdown. The special teams had a blocked punt for a safety. Rackers hit THREE FG's of 50+ (2 of 55 yards), tying Morten Andersen's NFL record. This may not be as easy as you think, fellow Bills fans. Mike
  5. I think I can contribute a bit here. Garcia, who has been erratic this year (see the Cowboys game in Week 2, and the point two weeks ago where Butch Davis called him "skittish"), played with heart, fire and guts today. The Browns dang near pulled that one out. My dad likes to say that the Browns play down to their competition. Today, they played up to the Eagles' level. In addendum, T.O. is a horse's patoot. Did anyone here see the two banners he pulled down after scoring touchdowns? Here's the link to the website of Jeff Garcia's girlfriend, Carmella DeCesare If Garcia's gay, as Owens has claimed, hmmm... Mike
  6. My prediction: Red Sox in 7. It goes the distance, but the Curse shall end forever and ever. Mike
  7. Even Curt Schilling said in an interview with, I believe, Boston Magazine after he signed with the Sox, "Screw the Curse". Mike
  8. VH1 Classic still plays music videos...about the only channel to do so these days. Mike
  9. Congratulations to the Boston Red Sox and their fans. We have witnessed history. And as far as I'm concerned, the collapse couldn't have happened to a better franchise. I can think of one section of NYC that is happy this morning. Queens. Mike
  10. I thought it was a little funny with Yankee fans chanting "Who's Your Daddy" at Pedro when their team was still down five runs. I'm happy this morning, not because I'm a Red Sox fan (I'm not), but because the Yankees collapsed in such spectacular fashion. So, I'm a fan of ANY Yankee loss...especially four in a row when they're three outs away from a sweep with Riviera on the mound. Mike
  11. You can't buy heart and passion and guts. We all know this to be true from watching our favorite football team. You either have these things (early 90s teams) or you don't (seemingly, the current edition). Mike
  12. Hmmm...good post. Mike
  13. This Yankee team is a rotisserie team come to life. What they are missing are the players who played roles, but were huge in winning titles...like Scott Brosius and Paul O'Neill. Sure, Sheffield, A-Rod and Mussina are great players...but whose roles did they take? The Yankees of 2004 just don't have the role players who are important on just about every single championship team. Despite what some fans think, you NEED the players who do the dirty work, but who don't necessarily get the hype, in order to be successful. Mike
  14. 6-1 now...and did I just see Jack Nicholson in the stands?!?!? Mike
  15. I meant to shut up about a Curse of the Bambino and all. If the Red Sox win the World Series, next year they are just another team. Sure, they'd be the defending champions, but a team that isn't dealing with a so-called Curse. Red Sox fans can be some of the most obnoxious, yet ironically depressed, people on the planet. Take the Curse away from some of them, and what do they have that's so special? Mike
  16. Hmmm...decent question. I say that, for a single season or playoff, probably so. The only thing comparable would be the Oilers' tank job in the Comeback Game. If the Yankees come back and win this game (unlikely, losing 6-0), then we will all remember Schilling and his gutty performance. We won't remember the Yankee win, because they probably get rototilled in the World Series. Mike
  17. Honestly, until I saw the tailgate pics, I didn't know you were black. So I took your jokes in stride. I was not offended. I make drunken Irish jokes myself. Even though I almost never drink to the point of excess. Alcohol problems tend to run in my family. Mike
  18. I second that. As much as I would like to see my beloved Tribe back in the playoffs, I have to comment that this has been one whale of a postseason. I didn't think ANYTHING could top last year. I was wrong. Mike
  19. My opinion on these two teams is well known. However, for purposes of choosing one or the other, I would like to see the Red Sox win, just so people in New England will stop yapping about it. Mike
  20. This is why I'm self employed. Mike
  21. CBS showed TH on the bench pouting TWICE during the 4th Quarter. Do the minds at the former Tiffany Network know something we don't? Mike
  22. Last fall, ESPN Magazine had a similar write-up on J.P. Losman as well. If I find a link, I will post it, but I remember the article. Mike
  23. It looks like he got his birthday wish. Happy Birthday, Mr. Wilson, and GO GO BUFFALO!!! Wishing you a Hall of Fame selection this year, Mike
  24. Responding to #3: McGahee had almost half of his 111 rushing yards in the 4th quarter. Talk about coming up big... And responding to #5: We Bills fans deserved this one. Mike
  25. And that is exactly what happened, fellow Bills fans. Everything's OK after a Bills victory. Mike
