Being the Canadian beer aficianado that I am, I am happy to say that Labatt and Molson's are readily available in the Cleveland area, both in stores and on tap. Mostly, it's Labatt Blue and Molson's Canadian, but I have seen some of their other brands (Blue Light, Golden, etc.). It's Moosehead that I have a LOT of trouble finding around here. Mike

(OT) So...who's working today
buckeyemike replied to buckeyemike's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm still at home, but I will be at the office in about an hour. I'm making lunch now even as I speak... two Hebrew Nationals with mustard and onions and Tim Horton's coffee. Yum yum. Mike -
(OT) No Bills, No Sopranos & No Sabres
buckeyemike replied to Justice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Try my beloved Cleveland Indians. The Tribe hasn't won a title since 1948, and they have come agonizingly close in recent years (read: 1997). Just like the Bills. They have a young, up-and-coming team that's really a lot of fun to watch. Again, just like the Bills... If not baseball, get the first three seasons of "Seinfeld" on DVD, and watch them over & over again...including the deleted scenes and extras. That should pass the time during the long, cold winter. One Cleveland writer thinks the Browns should trade for TH. Scroll about halfway down to read. The guy who wrote this, Roger Brown, is generally not well liked by the readers, but I think he's got a decent point here. Mike

Just curious...inquiring minds wanna know. I will be in the office later today, but I have plenty to do at home first. No court today because of MLK day, which was a state holiday here in Ohio before it was ever a federal holiday. Mike

(OT) Worst Personnel Change To A Band
buckeyemike replied to Rico's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ah, but they are divorced now, so it's all for naught. Valerie's still pretty cute. At least she was in the five minutes I've seen "Touched By An Angel" the past few years. Mike -
(OT) Worst Personnel Change To A Band
buckeyemike replied to Rico's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Them's FIGHTIN' words!! I loved Valerie! She was my first TV crush!! BTW, I agree...the discussion begins and ends with Van Halen...twice. Gary Cherone should have kept Extreme going. Mike -
The Bills lost to the better all around team today. Don't get discouraged. The loss is to a team that is now 15-1, with 14 wins in a row. In the NFL, that is unreal. The Steelers better win it all this year. If they lose in the AFC title game again, there may be riots at Heinz Field. Mike

Today's Cleveland Plain Dealer Don't know how any of my Bills brethren feel about this, but it's a possibility that Modrak might be the Browns' new GM. The Browns did win today, 22-14 over Houston, so they finish 4-12, with (I think) the second pick in the draft behind San Francisco. Mike

A sea of black & gold at the Ralph...

The most important question is: IS THERE COWBELL PRESENT?!? Currently Bills 17, Steelers 16. Mike -
Silent thread for the playoffs

I don't think I'd be wanting to hang around Steeler fan when they lose in the AFC Championship. Again. 1-3 in AFC title games under Cowher? One Super Bowl appearance and loss in the last 25 years? If you haven't done anything for a quarter-century, you shouldn't be bragging about it. And kicking Cleveland when their down? In a conversation about Buffalo?!? Classless. Totally classless fans. I still hate the Steelers...that's the remaining Browns fan in me. Mike

This is why we "Circle the Wagons". GO BILLS!! SQUASH THE STEELERS!! Mike

For those looking for Levy's book
buckeyemike replied to Guffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can't find it in Cleveland. I'll probably have to get it off Amazon. Mike -
And a Happy New Year to you, too! My mother-in-law is a wonderful woman. I wouldn't mind if she stayed with us, but she lives nearby, so there's no need. My wife might mind, however. Mike

Nope, that's the MPC Computers Bowl in Boise now. Which was quite a game yesterday...Fresno State over UVa in OT. Mike

This has to be my favorite football season ever...that of the 2004 Bills. A team that never gave up, even when many doubted them. A team that has been resilient, and never say die. A team that is the true epitome of the phrase, "Circle the Wagons". GO BILLS!!! SQUASH THE SQUEALERS!! Mike

Why were we able to turn it around?
buckeyemike replied to seq004's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Biggest reason = McGahee. The line seems significantly better with him in there. As soon as Willis starting playing, it opened up the whole offense more. The change of coaches had to help as well. You can tell MM will be a good HC. Mike -
yet light years away from one another. The Bills started off this year with a devastating loss to Jacksonville, then a disheartening game at Oakland. Soon they were 0-4 and people are already calling for Mularkey's and Donahoe's heads on a platter. Remember, even Ralph Wilson was criticizing the situation after the Jets game. Then a funny thing happened. Since then the Bills are 9-2. I know it's a cliche, but they "circled the wagons"! A win over the Steelers and a little help, and they are in the playoffs. On the same day the Bills lost to the Jags, the Browns took the Ravens to the woodshed, by 20-3. The Browns split their first six games, and then the wheels fell off (see my sig line for how the Browns have historically played in recent years). So many injuries. A coach who quit on the team, with a $12 million golden parachute. Controversy. Bad play. An embarrassing 30 point loss to the Bills. My formerly beloved Browns will be starting over. Again. The difference? The Bills never quit, even when many doubted them. They have their first winning season in five years. They came back and showed the resiliency that makes many Buffalonians and Bills fans proud. The Browns quit. Simple as that. It's currently in the third quarter of a tie game vs. the Dolfelons. If the Browns lose, the losing streak reaches nine, which would tie a team record set in 1975. Two cities. Two teams. Two very different results. Mike

SHOCKING - Reggie White dead at 43
buckeyemike replied to Golden Wheels's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How much good did Reggie do? He helped people in Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Green Bay, and Charlotte. Wherever he played. Reggie was a minister and he lived up to his calling. He's in heaven now. A much better place than here. RIP Reggie. Mike -
Just what I wanted this Christmas!! Last night my family exchanged gifts because my brother and sister-in-law are heading for St. Louis today for Christmas with her family (and, considering the nasty conditions on I-64 outside Evansville, thank God they're flying and not driving). The one thing I wanted, I got...the Extended 4-disc Widescreen LOTR:ROTK set. I haven't opened it yet...hoping to watch all three this weekend. And tomorrow, Christmas Day, my wife's family will exchange gifts. A side note: I have to watch DVD's in widescreen. Fullscreen just doesn't look right to me. Mike

Michael Vick 100 Million Dollar man
buckeyemike replied to Thailog80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree, Vick is not a prototype QB. But I would make this contract move as well, if I were Arthur Blank. Vick's gotta be at the top of the NFL merchandise list. He's the most exciting player in the league. ANYTHING can happen when he touches the ball. The Falcons are 11-3. With TO out, I think Atlanta is now the favorite in the NFC. What happens if Michael Vick leads the Falcons to their second Super Bowl in seven years? I think they can actually win the whole enchilada. Right now. Mike -
OT: Lawyers and Law School Grads, Regrets?
buckeyemike replied to Arkady Renko's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
And if you're looking for a wife/girlfriend in law school, I say, forget it. Female law students back in the early 90's didn't exactly remind one of Lindsay Lohan. I did know one couple in law school who married later, and they have three children, but damn, she was the hottest one there. There was another who was a childhood friend who had become very attractive, but she and I were almost polar opposites by the time we had gotten out of college. Most of the women I knew in law school were feminists who, let's say, didn't mesh well with my conservative Republican tendencies. That's why I married a nurse. Mike
