  1. Exactly. This team can't seem to get it done when it counts. However, I thought it WAS a catch. And Moulds pushed off, which was pretty dumb, IMO. Mike
  2. After reading some of the posts on this board, I have to add the following: STOP WHINING. THERE IS NO ANTI-BILLS OR PRO-PATRIOTS CONSPIRACY. The world is NOT aligned against us. Sometimes, life sucks. It's not all perfect. And the Bills just don't have it this year. Mike
  3. And you believe that crap? Then why did the Pats lose by 24 at home to a San Diego team that is down a notch from last year? Then why have the Pats been merely average all season? The problem is that the Bills are merely average right now...or slightly below average, I'm afraid. We'll see next week when New England plays the undefeated Colts how much they are "out to help the Patriots". Mike
  4. How about making the playoffs 8 times between 1988 and 1996? How about four consecutive Super Bowl appearances? How about avoiding negative karma and bad vibes? It's self-fulfilling. Mike
  5. Agreed. Agreed. Agreed. Wake up, TSW. NO ONE IS OUT TO SCREW YOU OR THE BILLS. Thank you. <rant off> Mike
  6. This is why you turn the freaking sound down and listen to the radio guys. At least Murph and AVP are somewhat objective (read: Bills fans). Mike
  7. Thanks Kelly. I've been saying the same thing over and over again, since I saw Holcomb so much with the Browns: he will do just enough to break your heart. Mike
  8. Then remember what happened between 1988-1993. Mike
  9. Nope. I don't believe that at all. I'm sure that sometime around 1993, New England Patriot fans were saying pretty much the same thing. Now look at them. Be positive. At least Buffalo still has an NFL team (and they ain't losing it either). Mike
  10. My biggest problem here was WHY CALL A SHORT OUT ON 4TH DOWN?!? When your playing against one of the worst secondaries in the National Football League? I've said it before and I'll say it again: You cannot depend on Kelly Holcomb to win football games for you. I've seen this before. He may have thrown for 250 yards, but he couldn't come through in the clutch. Kelly's a heckuva person, but he's a spot starter and wily veteran backup. Nothing more. After that 4th down play, I immediately thought of the reaction on this board. I thought the whole thing would crash sometime around 11:45 P.M. However, Moulds WAS guilty of offensive pass interference the play before. He hooked the defender's arm. You will get a flag thrown against you, no matter how late in the game it is. Not a smart play, Eric. On the Pats' second TD drive, that probably WAS a catch. At least from the angle that was provided. MM did well to throw the red flag, but the evidence just wasn't there to overturn it. I thought the officials actually called a pretty fair game. As far as the ESPN Patriot Lovefest and Tedy Bruschi Jamboree is concerned, it's an inspirational story. He had 11 tackles last night and was in the game for sixty-four plays. After a stroke. Makes for good copy. Even I thought he did well. Willis did well. He was moving the pile and not dancing around so much this time. The defense seemed to tank after the call wasn't overturned. But after the Pats scored to make it 16-14, the offensive playcalling seemed to suffer as well. I don't think Kelly Holcomb will start against the Chiefs. It's time to put Losman back in and see what happens. This was a loss and ultimately, an ugly and costly loss. It should have been at least 10-0 at halftime, and it hurt the Bills dearly in the second half. The Buffalo Bills are simply a mediocre football team this year. Nothing less, nothing more. There is NO conspiracy, among the officials, ESPN, or the commissioner's office, against the Buffalo Bills. If there were a conspiracy, there's NO WAY the Bills would have been in the game, much less the lead, for most of Sunday night. Nothing would have gotten in the way of the anointing of the Patriots and Tedy Bruschi. Mike
  11. Uh, SDS, if there has ever been a thread designated as Not Safe for Work, this is probably it. Mike
  12. Knowing some of the posters on this board, PTR, I wouldn't put it past them. Mike
  13. I just thought I would share this with all of you: On Saturday, I get to go to Weirton, WV. That is a town of about 20,000 people 40 miles due west of Pittsburgh. My aunt and uncle will be renewing their wedding vows. He's 93, she's 88. On November 22, they will have been married for seventy (that's right, I said 70) years. Both of them have not been in the best of health. Uncle Archie, a retired steelworker and minister in the Church of the Nazarene, has survived numerous health problems, including cancer and having nodules removed from his larynx. His voice is but a whisper of what it used to be. My Aunt Elizabeth (who is my mother's oldest surviving sister) suffers from severe osteoporosis and broke her hip in a fall two years ago. They still live at their home of over 50 years, but they have a granddaughter who lives next door who looks after them every single day. Aunt Elizabeth will be wearing her granddaughter's wedding gown. She's so tiny that they needed to take the dress in somewhat. She is also frail, and needs to be helped down the aisle. I know that there will be many tears, and much joy, in the church next weekend. These two people have had such an impact on my life. I cannot wait to see them on Saturday and celebrate with them. Mike
  14. Good analogy, philster. I've been saying that on this board for the last three years. Mike
  15. I see we're channeling Dana Carvey's Grumpy Old Man character from "Saturday Night Live"... Mike
  16. Here's to the most brittle quarterback in the history of the National Football League!! Hmmm...I don't remember seeing RJ play in the Super Bowl that year... Mike
  17. Terrific news for the best KR in the NFL. Now there's 15 million reasons for him to become the best DB in the league as well. GO BILLS! POUND THE PATS!! Mike
  18. This is the first I've heard of O.J. looking for a house in the Buffalo area. Where did you hear this? Mike
  19. This is America, where we seem to grant absolution to the famous people who ask for it. Some people even today treat people like Al Capone and Bonnie and Clyde as heroes. People who allegedly killed far more than O.J. was accused of. Part of the problem I have is that O.J. never seemed to be real happy that he was stuck playing most of his career in Buffalo. Case in point: when he was doing "Monday Night Football" in the 80s for ABC, he stayed at the Hilton and requested "a room without a view". I don't think O.J.'s trying to "suck up" to Bills fans, but WNY is the only place on earth, it seems, where he's still remembered as a football player and not the pariah he has become. Maybe that's why he's spent time there recently. This could be weighing heavily on his psyche...it's been over 11 years. By the way, my personal feelings, to quote Cedric the Entertainer in the movie "Barbershop": "O.J. did it!" Mike
  20. I remember a classic sign at Old Comiskey in 1990 after the Sox suddenly became contenders and were saying goodbye to their old park. I think it sums up the feelings on this thread: YUPPIE SCUM GO BACK TO WRIGLEY. Mike
  21. Uh, guys, this thread got hijacked somehow. We were talking about dib and his situation (along with about 4 million other South Floridians) and somehow this morphed into a Bush v. Kerry thread. Dib, I hope you and yours are OK. Hope all will be well soon. From me and mine. Mike
  22. To quote Mr. Griffin's response to your post: Heheheheheheheh! Mike
  23. Fat, drunk and stupid... For this guy, it's a way of life. Mike
  24. Spend all Sunday afternoon whipping up a batch of Retatta and throwing it at the TV after the Pats' third interception. Mike
  25. I disagree with the "BS" take, but you make a good point with the secondary argument. Collins has the weapons and the arm to throw downfield. Holcomb doesn't have a rocket arm, so the OC plans to his strengths...short slants, especially. I don't know how many times I've seen the short pass to Moulds over the middle the last three weeks, but I'm starting to telegraph it. Mike
