  1. No, I think the Hawkeyes were overrated. Ferentz is a good coach, who worked under Belichick with the Browns. He was a candidate for that job before Romeo Crennel was hired, and I think he could make a decent pro coach. As for the game, I think that Ohio State did exactly what they had to do. The most challenging game left on their schedule is Michigan, who could very well be unbeaten themselves, in Columbus on November 18. da da da da, da da da da GO BUCKS!!!
  2. QBs winning big games by themselves really doesn't happen in the NFL anymore. But, a QB can sure lose a game by himself. Exhibit A: Big Ben, who had a terrible Super Bowl, yet the Steelers won. This year, they have asked him to do a little too much, and I think his lingering physical problems aren't helping. I just saw Charlie Frye come back from a terrible first half, and now the Browns have the lead over the Raiders. The point is, J.P. can't panic when things are going bad. I'll point out that the Antichrist to many on this board, Tom Brady, never panics and keeps an even keel, when things are going bad for his team. That's the key. A quarterback needs to be a leader, because he gets too much credit when the team does well, and too much blame when the team loses.
  3. Don't mean to be a parrot here, but you're absolutely right. It has to do with the New Wave of the younger football coaches, who think they have to work 25 hours a day and come up with something that no one, no one else in the world, would ever think about. These coaches today are far removed from Bud Grant, who worked 9 to 5 in the office, and whose teams were always the last to report to training camp. It doesn't take Norman Einstein, as Joe Theismann would say, to run an NFL team. You run, you pass, you play defense and special teams. Sounds pretty simple to me. In reality it probably isn't, but I hope you get my point. By the way, if you read TMQ on ESPN.com, he wrote that punting was a waste, and if any NFL team hired a coach who never punted, that team could be very successful.
  4. Fox has gone really downhill in their broadcasts this season. I saw some of the same things with the Browns-Saints game in Week 1. And the pregame show, moving to different locales every week, is now so bad I watch James Brown and the CBS crew. And I never thought I'd say that.
  5. Hmmm..."hand gestures" in an "adult video store". I'll let the rest of you jokers handle this one.
  6. Oh, right about now.
  7. "Back to the Future". Butch Davis, who was successful at Miami, is my prediction.
  8. Two years ago, I posted this when OSU lost in Iowa City, 33-7. That loss made the Buckeyes 3-3 after six games in 2004. Since that loss, the Buckeyes are 19-3, and of course, currently ranked #1, and I say they stay there until somebody beats them. I was not impressed by Iowa in the Syracuse game, where the Orange nearly beat them, but playing in Iowa City is much different. I don't know what it is about Kinnick Stadium, but the place seems to bring out the best in the Hawkeyes and the worst in their opponents. Also, there isn't a hotel room to be had within 100 miles of Iowa City. One thing I did find out today...Iowa has played the number one team in the nation eight times in their history. The Hawkeyes' record in those eight games? 0-7-1. I think that the Buckeyes have to start fast and take a rabid crowd of 71,000 bumblebees out of the game...quickly. Because if they start out like they did against Penn State and Cincinnati, they will lose. Iowa's a much better team than the Lions or Bearcats. Troy will have a good game, and the defense should hold up. Hopefully, Tressel invested in about a hundred sets of earplugs for the loud Hawkeyes crowd. Buckeyes to prevail, 24-14, and stay at #1. Mike
  9. I'll pass on the very obvious Leslie Nielsen/Airplane joke here and put the over/under at 3.5 on times Fox shows Hillary's mug.
  10. There's a Bill-with-the-Jills joke and Hillary-suiting-up-her-jock joke in here somewhere, I just know it.
  11. I did hear this morning that the Browns-Raiders game in Oakland sold out, or was close to it. With the way the Faders are playing, that really shocks me.
  12. No Cleveland???? Come on now...since Cleveland wasn't on the list, I voted for Buffalo.
  13. What is an "ocular enhancer machine"? (see: Carlos Beltran on link).
  14. Which one did I miss?
  15. You're going to hell for that one, gringo.
  16. Previously posted, but thanks for reminding us. I've been watching the trailer at least once a week...do you think I'm setting myself up for a fall?
  17. Wasn't this a Beavis & Butthead episode?
  18. 32 out of the last 34 home games now sold out. That's good support...the Browns play in Oakland this week, where I have a feeling that many Raider fans will be staying home.
  19. Yeah, I heard that on the radio this morning. Really sad. I had a boss who lost a son when he couldn't be revived after a tonsillectomy. That happened about twenty years ago. You just don't think these things could happen...especially to children.
  20. It's been 21 years since Weird Science, Kelly's had three kids, and she was married to that famous thespian, Steven Seagal. I say, cut the lady some slack.
  21. kinky or perverted? boxers or briefs? (male only) bikinis, boyshorts or thongs? (female only) lights on or lights off? top or bottom?
  22. Whoops, it seems my prior # was incorrect...the figure is $60,000.00 per year for 25 years. Thus the name change after the 25th season of Bills football at the stadium.
  23. Gotta love any video where Donny Osmond is dancing next to Weird Al. Good job as always, Al.
  24. Ohhh, this question is just too hard. I think I'm gonna lie down now. Thanks.
