I just heard on the 24 hour all Buckeye show that the colors of the seats in the UofP Stadium are Cardinal red and gray. I think that's close enough to Scarlet and Gray to be a good omen.

Tonight, we have a twenty-four hour long pregame show on the local sports talk radio station. We have two regional sports TV networks (SportsTime Ohio, which does Indians games, and FSN Ohio) and one statewide TV news network...and they have plenty of coverage. Not to mention ESPN...so right now, it's Buckeye Fever out the wazoo in the Buckeye State. Our new governor is getting sworn in tomorrow (Ted Strickland), but the formal inauguration and parties are not until Saturday...because of the game. All this is nice, but geez, let's play the game already. No game is truly worth this much hype...watch it be a Big Buckeye Blowout (although I'm not predicting that). When this game is done, if the Buckeyes win the title, I don't think anything would be able to top this year: 1) Ranked No. 1 all season. 2) Beat not one, not two, but THREE No. 2 teams along the way. 3) Beat Michigan at home. 4) A Buckeye wins the Heisman. 5) OSU goes undefeated. 6) OSU wins the national championship. I think I covered all the bases for the greatest Buckeyes season ever...if they win tomorrow night.

Whew. I thought Lana posted this. -
Reminds me of that MTV show, "My Super Sweet 16". Those girls are about the worst human beings I've ever seen.

Agreed, but let's hope your girl there doesn't do the same thing. -
I can imagine it, especially regarding Paris Hilton. I am not familiar with the term, however.

Would you have voted for L.T. for MVP?

An interesting question. If the award were for Most Outstanding Player, the answer is yes. If the award is for the player most valuable to his team, the answer is Drew Brees, because without him, the Saints are as bad as they were last year. Brees' leadership and amazing comeback galvanized the Saints to play very, very well for most of the season...and they are my NFC pick for the Super Bowl. Now, if Brees can do for the city of New Orleans what he's done for the Saints, then we might have something. The Cowboys aren't America's team any more. The New Orleans Saints are. -

Moosehead>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>everything else. I have been a well-known advocate of the superiority of Canadian beer on this board. But since I have Krohn's, I can't have as much of the magical elixir as I used to. -
Hated it at first, now I watch a couple here and there. Was shocked when watching The Surreal Life on VH1 and realized the blonde with the killer rack was Alexis freakin' Arquette. I had to pull an Ace Ventura in the shower after that one. American Idol, the nation's favorite amateur talent show, isn't bad; but I haven't watched more than 10 minutes of Survivor in the last six years. If I want to watch people eat bugs (which I don't), there's always Fear Factor. At least the game shows (Deal or No Deal, 1 vs. 100) are very watchable, and in the case of Deal, verrrrry easy on the eyes, if you know what I mean.

Everybody here knows I'm picking the Buckeyes. But, I expect Florida to be well prepared and to make a game of it early. However, Ohio State will pull away in the second half. The focus of the Gator defense will be on Troy, but the only thing he really needs to do is to get the ball away and not make mistakes. The Buckeyes just have too many weapons. Barring an upset of Boise State-like proportions, Ohio State will be coronated Monday night with their second national crown in the past five seasons. Ohio State 31, Florida 13.

I had fallen asleep early in the game...and woke up right after it ended. But I was awake enough to watch some of the FOX postgame show... Wow...what an ending. I thought Boise State had a chance, but I never in a thousand years thought the game would end like that. Boise State is now the only team in history to win a National Junior College title, a 1-AA championship, and a BCS bowl. We've now had three terrific games in the last four years that people may be talking about forever: Last night. Last year's Rose Bowl. The 2002 Fiesta Bowl (and you knew I was putting that one in there).

I am a fan of Coach Knight. He is the best college basketball coach ever, IMO. Did the record mean something to him? Yes, but I think he realized it only after it was over. Not like John Feinstein says, that the only reason he's out there in Lubbock is to set the record. He just signed on for another four years. Bob Knight just loves to coach. It's what he was born to do. Many of his players have said as much over the years. And, his players graduate. That is the most important thing of all.

I think her spankies (cheerleader briefs) probably rode up...the pic is kinda misleading. -
Part of the reason is Denver has the country's weirdest weather. Next week it will probably be 75 and sunny once the chinook kicks in. Buffalo is an old industrial town that was dying prior to the Blizzard of '77 (wow...30 years ago). Denver is a hip, vibrant city that is growing (the suburbs are anyway) by leaps and bounds. It's a lot easier to pick on a Rust Belt town than a popular one. I should know. Where do I live again?

RIP to an ordinary man thrust into an extraordinary role. No matter what your political beliefs, it is always important to pay respects to a President who has just passed away. We give you your due respect, Mr. President.

Recently, my language on this board has been strong and even angry on certain topics. I don't believe I've offended anyone, but if I have, But in all seriousness, this is the season of miracles. Of a Child born in Bethlehem to save the lost. I am a Christian, and I hope that my life backs up what I profess. And I hope that shows on this board, but I know it doesn't all the time. It is the time of year to be thankful for what we have, and what God has given us in the Christ child. Take a moment to remember that this season. Read Luke 2:1-20 and you will see what I mean. And Matthew 2 gives us the story of the Magi, who came from the East to worship the newborn King, Jesus Christ. May the peace of the holiday season be with you all. And to close, here's one of my favorite Christmas songs. Merry Christmas everyone. Mike Murphy North Olmsted, Ohio

Last time I checked, that wasn't happening anytime soon. But, the responses to this thread are terrific. Those of you who live in Georgia need to make your voices heard, and make damn sure you throw the politicians who passed this law (as well as the prosecutor) out of office the next time they're up for reelection. -
Maybe you go into the movie not expecting a whole lot. Maybe you go in knowing Sly's history, and how he can't seem to play any character other than Rocky Balboa or John Rambo. Nonetheless, I was blown away by this movie when I saw it Saturday afternoon. It won't win any awards, but it was a great job by a 60 year old Stallone. Even Burt Young did well as Paulie...you wonder if they just wake him up for the Rocky movies, because you don't see him anywhere else (and I thought he was terrific as the driver/Rodney's best friend in "Back to School", but that was 20 years ago). This makes two excellent movies I've seen this holiday season (the other is "We Are Marshall"), which is two more than usual. I highly recommend "Rocky Balboa", and you guys are correct. It is a great bookend to the series. Guess we didn't know Stallone had it in him. ****1/2 out of 5 stars.

I was wrong then, I thought the girl was white. It doesn't change my opinion, however. Read my edit. This kid got a friggin raw deal.
