Bills to add Ronald Curry as quarterbacks coach (updated)
elroy16 replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wonder if he and Peppers were the last two sport college athletes. They were fun to watch play basketball, especially Peppers, he was an animal in the paint. -
Steelers @ Bills. Monday, January 15th at 4:30pm.

I'm curious to see if the design of the new stadium does in fact keep the wind down inside of the stadium. Cold and some precipitation is one thing, but the insane wind is what really mucks up these games. -
Ed Oliver is playing out of his mind this season
elroy16 replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nothing to add except Ed is awesome. I think this is the benefit of such a heavy rotation throughout the year. He should still have plenty of juice. -
Blue jerseys, white pants, blue socks against the Pats
elroy16 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
I realized how much of a football junkie I am when I saw this post and remembered there's football on tonight. It's probably going to be a ***** game and I don't like either team, but I will turn it on. -
Taron is a stud and I won't stand by while he is slandered.

Blue tops, white pants across the pond against the Jags
elroy16 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
The move to blue jersey and white pants is the most important change to the team this year, besides McD taking over as DC. Obviously a hyperbole, but I love the change. This combo is soooooo much better looking than the all blue. Sure, do all blues maybe once a year, but these need to be the primary home combination. I also like how the players are changing up their socks a bit. In years past they would be just about all blue or all white. If you see Flyod he's got half white and half blue, Milano does more while at the bottom. I wish they'd bring back some stripes too. Letting them change up the socks a bit allows them to look different, but also all look good as a team. I absolutely hate how in the NBA they have neon shoes that are a complete opposite color of their uniforms, it looks like *****. Yes, I am aware I pay too much attention to the uniforms, I don't know what to tell you. -
All I hear is Chris Berman's "Whoop!" I love how our LB's are so tough to get a hand on at the second level.

The much more likely scenario is they extend his contract in the offseason. They aren't going to cut him and rely on a rookie to block Josh's blind side. Now, if after the year he balloons and gets fat and quits on football, sure he could be cut. Or if after next year he asks for $16 million plus, they'll let him walk, but otherwise he'll be on the team next year. I see "Let's cut this vet for cap space" ideas on this forum. When was the last time Beane actually did that? Especially a drafted and developed player like Dawkins.

I loooooove primetime games. As a father of 2, day games consists of both girls constantly asking for tickles or for me to read a book to them while my wife occasionally says, "stop messing with Dad" while playing on her phone. Primetime games I can relax, drink a beer without fear of someone throwing themselves at me and spilling it everywhere, and give the game my full attention.

I'd be surprised of Taron gets big money from somewhere else. He's already 27 and his last deal with the Bills was 3 years for $24 million. I'd expect something similar again from the Bills, maybe this offseason to avoid getting to free agency. Someone mentioned it a while back, but the flow of the entire D is awesome to watch. Their spacing is on point and everyone is doing there 1/11th. I also loved the run play where Bernard stands in the hole for a split second and then darts into the next gap as soon as the running makes a cut. As soon as Bernard leaves that gap, Taron comes flying in through there while Bernard helps stop the runner in the next gap. Not to dog on Tremaine too much, I was always a fan, but this is rough. Bernard just seems to fit in this defense better than Tremaine did, especially with McD calling a more aggressive game. I was worried about Bernard dropping into deep zones, but even that he looks like he's excelling by reading the QB and having a great feel for zone D.

That game was absolutely incredible to watch. Mac stunk up the joint, then Zappe comes in and scores two TD's and the crowd was going absolutely bonkers. They found their guy! The rest of NE drives went Fumble - Zappe Punt - 3 and out Punt - 3 and out Interception Interception The score after Zappe's two TD's, 14-10, final score, 33-14.

Last year felt like they were trying to run it back with the 2021 squad with just a few tweaks. Who knows how it would have panned out had all of the adversity not occurred and they were a little bit more healthy in the playoffs. I wonder if they got a little complacent last year during the offseason as well. They were right there and probably felt if they kept business as usual, they could get back to where they were with some tweaks. This year feels different. The doubters are out in full force and there's a massive chip on their shoulder. Josh, Diggs, McD, Dawkins, Poyer (On one of the embedded McD comments on much stronger his legs look), and I'm sure a lot more all seem to have a new level of focus. This isn't running back last year's squad, this feels like almost a new team. The offense is going to be different with a HR hitter as RB1, 12 personnel with a true slot option, not to mention (please baby Jesus) a better O-line, better WR depth, and year two of Dorsey. The defense should look different without Fraizer and Edmunds. There will be some growing pains with the MLB position, but I'm excited to see what it looks like. Edmunds best attribute was sitting back and reading and reacting. I think a lot of what they did was based off of this. At times we're definitely going to miss it because he was damn good at a bunch of things, but hopefully we see some more aggressive play from the MLB position and more creativity on blitzes and coverages. Suffice to say, I'm super mother f^<#!ng pumped for this year.

Not a fan of the all blue, but I guess it's time to accept that it's the primary home combo these days. This is by far the best combo. The white, blue, white, blue just looks so good to me, I love the contrast and how clean they look. The all blue is just too much. Thankfully not quite the eye sore the all red is, those are awful.

Bernard, Torrence and Benford all officially starters
elroy16 replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm super excited about Benford. He looks smooth, calm, smart, and sticky out there. Cover1 did a great video showing his skills. I bet almost no one outside of Buffalo knows who he is, but come Monday they'll get a glimpse when the pass D is making Rodgers life miserable. I feel bad (as bad as I can for a guy making tons of money to play football) for Elam more than anything. All he's done is go out there and work his tail off, but really he got drafted into a poor situation for his skillset. I'd bet he'd start for a lot of teams in the league, especially ones that focus on man to man. Instead he's been forced to learn a ton of new coverages and techniques while another draft pick was able to come in and hit the ground running. I'm excited to watch CyBo and really hoping he can bring a bit more consistency to the middle of the line. He's got a hell of a test in week 1, I just hope when he gets beat he can slow guys down a little bit as opposed to getting beat cleanly and having someone in Allen's face in about half a second. I really want to see more play-action which will maybe allow him to get his hands on guys quicker and lock them down. He's so strong, once he gets those paws on pads near the armpits of the lineman, it's basically over. With Bernard's size, hopefully the D-line can really excel. The addition of Ford should help, that way they can have a big run stuffer in there while Jones gets a breather. That and another year in the system for Settle, it sounds like he's playing better this year so far. He was a bit of a disappointment last year. What I like about this trio starting is that they all have a ton of upside. We aren't plugging in vets hoping for a high floor type performance. I want to see some youth integrated into the lineup who make plays and take over a job for a long time. -
As a public service... Bills vs Colts Highlights (9:48)
elroy16 replied to Sierra Foothills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm really curious if McKenzie was supposed to fly into the flats with the blitz coming. Richardson looks right at him after the snap, but McKenzie is running his route. He's a super quick, athletic guy, but the game just seems a hair to fast for him. Even the kickoff, I know it's preseason, but that was a terrible decision. -
I wonder what Allen was up to the night before the HR derby. He showed up late and a couple guys were giving him crap and asking if he felt alright. I wonder if they had a big party since a bunch of guys were in town. It would help explain that dismal display on the last pitch. Rousseau, Boogie, and AJ were all at Von's camp. Whether they pan out or not, at least they're out there putting in the work. Is it FINALLY the year the investment in the D-line pans out? It would be really freaking nice if it finally did.

Kincaid gets crazy low on his breaks, he reminds me of Beasley. He definitely has the smarts to get open against zone, hopefully he can come in and quickly win his 1v1 matchups and really keep teams honest. I can't imagine this hasn't been posted, but I'll post a link again. Kincaid is absolutely perfect for this offense. Hopefully Torrence can come in and lock down one guard spot. I think the offense has every kind of weapon needed to excel and be dominant, we just need the O-line and Dorsey to perform better.

An interesting part was when Elam said he just started watching film on veteran CB's in the league. He said he's watching guys that may have lost a step and really focusing on their technique and how they still play at a high level. For a kid coming from a college team where he played basically all man to a team that runs a ton of zone, he had a steep learning curve, which we all knew. He's also mentioned how he had to get out of his head and realize it was going to take time and not get down on himself. Considering those two factors, I'm not at all surprised he struggled to start the season. I'm very excited for a healthy Tre and a second year Elam.

Ralph Wilson fine response from "just give it to 'em" game
elroy16 replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Crazy betting story from that day. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/homeless-man-loses-with-pats-win/#:~:text=Upset by the controversial calls,a new life were over. -
I don't have much of an issue on the block to Taron. I've seen Dawkins and other lineman pancake a guy and then throw themselves on top of em. Luckily they've never hurt anyone, I think it was just an unfortunate injury. The guy rolling on Josh? That was dirty AF. You can see him pause and then thrown himself at his knee. Super, super dirty.

Last week Cook almost caused an INT because he didn't find the throwing lane for Allen. This week he found the passing lanes and did a very good job of catching the check downs and moving the ball. I like how they used Hines to stress the LB's horizontally and that helped free up creases for Cook. Last night was a nice step for Cook and the run game. The offense looks much, much better when they're in 2nd and 5's instead of 2nd and 9's all game.

Week 8: SNF Packers at Bills (-10.5) 10/30 8:20pm
elroy16 replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was at a bar with a huge Packers fan, she was PIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSED. Same when I went to the Bills at Falcons a number of years back, the Tre scoop and score game. A lot of, how the puck did we lose to the BILLS?!?!? It's nice now expecting wins and not hoping for some crazy stuff and eking out a win. -
I enjoyed last night, but not nearly as much as I enjoyed the Monday night game. Seeing the pats and that shithole fanbase eat ***** is much more enjoyable than just brady, but it is quite delicious to see that ####### make terrible throws and have no one to yell at. All I want to see is him yelling at a lineman and someone shoving that old B word to the ground. The question is, does he make it to the end of the year? If they suck enough, does he fake an injury and quit? I can't imagine he plays another year, but I would love if this went on for another year or two and another desperate team picks him up. Colts anybody?
