  1. High praise for Edmunds from Zo. Zo has been around a long time, so his word holds some weight. Hopefully he's right.
  2. I'm not from Buffalo so I don't have an opinion on the matter but I certainly can understand your position. It was schopp's comment that made me do a second listen.
  3. Sal was on schopp and the bulldog yesterday and was mostly neutral about Allen. He said he had a nice day, missed a few throws, had some really good throws, but really likes the zip he has on the ball. He thought that they might have simplified reads at this point, so might not be asking him to do too much. He likes his energy and interaction with his teammates and coaches. As a side note, did anyone else listen to the segment from yesterday? Bulldog was asking Sal how Allen talks and was curious what he thought about Beane's comment about how Allen "is Buffalo." Bulldog was starting to talk about how it kind of rubbed him the wrong way, because Beane's only been around for a year and doesn't know what "being Buffalo" is. Schopp interrupted and said something like, Beane's comments were around the time that Allen's old tweets came out. Bulldogg interrupted him before he really got to the point, but certainly sounded like Schopp's point was going to be, Beane thinks Buffalonians are racist, so is Allen, so Allen "is Buffalo." Now, this seems ridiculous, especially to think a GM would say something so ridiculous, but it is Schopp we're talking about. It starts right around the 3:10 mark. Maybe I'm totally misinterpreting what Schopp is saying, so please feel free to call me a moron if I'm totally wrong. https://d3efjls8gnbg8i.cloudfront.net/1642018/122814472.mp3?rhihttphost=wgr550.hosted.cx
  4. Let's just be happy they haven't been touting his photographic memory as a reason he can digest the playbook so well.
  5. Same here. The heartbreaking games don't make me cry, they just put me in a furious rage. The Jim Kelly Football Life when he and Jill are talking about Hunter, that got me.
  6. True, but that's fine. One of the leading rookie receivers was Cooper Kupp who came from a smaller school and was supposed to take some time getting used to NFL talent. You never know who's going to come out and play well versus who will take a year or two.
  7. Do people shout bust at any mention of certain players so that they can later claim to be smarter than everyone else? Zay has good size, comes from a family with NFL success, was a top performer in the 20 yard shuttle, 60 yard shuttle, and broad jump at the combine, ran a strong 40, and oh yeah, plays a position that rarely makes an impact their rookie year. Can he not get better? Stevie Johnson couldn't make the 53 man roster for most of his rookie year. Can't we give Zay more than one year? Most players fail in the NFL, so there's a better chance of him not being a good player than there is he becomes a strong #2. Here's a premature congratulations for predicting Zay to be a bust, congrats!!!
  8. Pretty disappointing. Hopefully he's ready for the beginning of training camp.
  9. Yeah, that's true, something I didn't think about. Interesting thought there. Are Bills players forced to wear braces at this point in the year?
  10. Ehh, so is he out for the year or are we supposed to believe Lynn? Kinda weird.
  11. Are teams allowed to talk to players during the season, or just during the combine or individual work outs? Beane specifically said, I haven't talked to these guys for more than 15 minutes. It gave me the impression that he probably knew what they thought after viewing the tape, but he wanted to get to know the players and hear about their football experience versus strictly seeing them play. I believe last year McDermott said something like, "I want to smell the players breath" after getting hired but before OTAs, meaning he wanted to get up close and personal and really get to know them. I'm guessing that this is similar to what Beane meant and why he wasn't ready to make a call on these QB's until the entire process was done.
  12. I think that's already been answered. He ran a pro style offense at Wyoming. Here's part of Tim Graham's article about Josh Allen. I took out one key sentence. "And you were talking to a 9-year-old kid." Yes, this was Josh Allen as a 9 year old in pop warner football, making checks at the line and calling audibles. From all indications, Josh was great on the white board during the draft process. I think the real question is, can he process coverages and reads in 2 seconds while 300 pound men try to beat the crap out of him. I love that Allen is so easy to root for. As for throwing him into the fire and ruining him, I think he's too tough mentally for that to happen. I really hope he comes out and wins the starter job from day one. It might not always be pretty year 1 or even 2, but I think we're going to see some flashes and hopefully enough consistency to win some games while he grows and they add more weapons.
  13. The worst (probably not, but it drives me crazy) are the videos of people buying brand new, just released electronics (iPhones, Xboxes, whatever) and then breaking them. Hell yeah. My roommate and I in college played I'm guessing somewhere between 12 and 20 years in various franchises. We had a few that we played on the same team, but that got too easy, so we started one with him as the Seahawks and me as the 49ers. We did a fantasy draft and ended up playing 8 years or so of that. We always met in the NFC championship game which was always played after many beers and other recreational activities. They got intense.
  14. No worries. Must be the ultimate team cards or whatever, I don't play enough to know all the details. My fault
  15. Best move McDermott made this offseason. When they weren't running motion, fake jet sweeps, or jet sweeps every other play during the Colts game, I knew he had to go. The defensive players had miserable footing and you don't even try to make them take false steps with misdirection?
  16. This isn't true unless you're playing Madden mobile or something. For Madden 2018, Garret was 83 overall, Trubisky was 77, OJ Howard (picked 19th) was the second highest rated rookie at 82. While I agree Madden ratings generally aren't great, they've gotten better in recent years. Far fewer players rated 99.
  17. "You guys are going to have to work really hard to be productive NFL QB's." BM: Ok... SM: No **** you f$%#ing idiot. JA: Gee thanks! JR: I'm not too worried about it LJ: This motherf*&%er better not tell me I'd be a great WR.
  18. You're right. I pulled the team stat from the following link instead of the individual stat. Using the team stat instead of individual was an obvious oversight that I did not intentionally do to deceive anyone. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2015/# He still had poor numbers in 2016 and 2017. I know he didn't have all these weapons that are required to put up numbers, but that's the problem with Tyrod. He's ok, but can't elevate anyone's game. His intermediate passing is sorely lacking which let's teams focus on the run and avoiding deep passes. Tyrod played well in stretches, but wasn't nearly consistent enough. You won't convince me he's more than an extremity athletic QB, who throws a decent deep ball, but won't make enough throws to be a top 15 QB.
  19. I'd hardly call the 12th and 11th ranked offense in PPG "TREMENDOUS," especially when they led the league in rushing both years. Yes, I realize that Tyrod helped with the rushing total, but that good a run game should have helped tremendously in the pass game. Even with such a good run game, Tyrod's net yards per attempt were 13th in 2015 and an abysmal 25th in 2016. Yes, yes, I know, it was because of the trash WR's. The proof will be in what happens this year.
  20. "You got a bunch of Bills players up here, you put high expectations on us to be funny. That's like trying to convince a Bills fan Tyrod Taylor is a franchise quarterback." "Aaron Williams, he's also in the hall of fame along with Fred. Most career ending injuries in one season with six." He didn't seem to really want to tell the Tyrod joke, but I'm sure he knew it would kill.
  21. The pass rush was very meh last year. I see no reason not to bring in as many guys as possible and hope a couple rise to the occasion. I think Hughes is safe unless they trade him, but I don't expect they'd get much of return for a 30 year old pass rusher making $10 million a year. I think Murphy and Hughes are the only locks. Lawson is probably the next closest, but if other guys step up, I wouldn't be surprised if he was traded or cut. I know his salary is really low, but they need more of an impact from their ends. Maybe Star will help make that happen.
  22. Nice breakdown. I thought you were a little easy on him, most notably on the two throws at 9:12. The first one he's got to make a better throw. Sure, the TE maybe should have caught it, but on a hard throw at the knees, I don't think that's an easy catch. I don't think the next throw is within the WR's catch radius. If he had gone more back shoulder, it could have been a good throw. His feet weren't set and I've seen him make back shoulder throws, so I'm guess that's what he was going for. You said he led threw it a bit inside, so it sounds like that's what you were going for too, but I don't think it necessarily should have been caught. He had a late blitzer coming right at him, so I'm not getting bent out of shape for a slightly inaccurate pass there. I'm nit picking because otherwise I thought it was a really good breakdown. Those two corner routes that the receivers dropped were both beautiful passes. I'm excited to see Benjamin and Allen gain some chemistry. It doesn't look like Allen will hesitate to throw to a somewhat covered receiver and Benjamin does a great job at catching contested throws.
  23. Be snarky all you want, its been staring at you in the face for 3 years. If you don't see it by now, then I don't know what to tell you.
  24. It took me a while, but I finally figured out who Rosen reminded me of.
