  1. I'm a fan of Chandler, I don't know of many 'huge' mistakes and not sure what you mean by limited athletically - seems pretty damn athletic to me. How can his production be easily replaced by Moeaki, based on what? Chandler definitely had a few drops last year, but also make a large contribution by leading the team in receptions. You have to have athletic ability to contribute like that.
  2. Another question is , who do we replace him with. Even in an off year it's a significant number of catches to replace. I remember some GM years ago saying, you don't get rid of players, you replace players.
  3. I remember him as being not very good, but looking back is was more likely that the team stunk back then. I recall the strong arm, but even though he had brisco, moses and I think JD Hill, still not a good team overall. Had some success after he left.
  4. I'm not sure if he's a good coach or not, but I will take Stafford like production from Manuel
  5. I don't think anyone really expected him to be here long term, so in that aspect it might be easier to deal with him leaving. To look at the positive side, there are a great many highly qualified coaches out there and we just need to find the right fit. We have good players and we should have better ones next year. Good organizations can handle situations like this, it's a big test for the Bills.
  6. I'm not sure multiple interviews for a HC position is 'getting strung along' Cleveland may be run by idiots, I don't know, but having more than one interview would seem reasonable. Also, they have interest in Seattles DC so they had to wait to interview him. We are just anxious as Bills fans not to lose him. I'm guessing he wouldn't have much trouble putting a staff together. He would certainly pull some coaches from Buffalo. There are plenty of coaches with experience out there.
  7. and Buffalo is some wonderland?
  8. What's so great in Cleveland? It has one of only 32 NFL head coaching positions in his profession. It has the only current opening. It is very interested in him He wants badly to be a head coach. It's better than being a DC in Buffalo Just for starters
  9. I don't know how you can honestly expect him to turn down a HC job. You don't often have a chance to get hired to coach in a great situation, but what's worse DC for a crappy Buffalo franchise or HC for a crappy Cleveland franchise. Cleveland has a very strong defense and an all world WR. They have 2 first round picks this year and with the right QB, could be a solid team with strong coaching- and I'm sure Pettine thinks he's the coach to help turn it around. It's just wishful thinking on Buffalo's part to not want him to take the job, but hardly realistic.
  10. No, but hopefully he will earn it in the next couple years. Good rookie season though, but needs work to be Pro Bowl material.
  11. there are 5 offensive linemen plus TE, we have a 3 man front, 4 if you count Mario Williams. Linebackers need to either shed the block of the lineman or avoid it. That's how you play the game. And he was blocked by FB's a few times as well. I know it's hard for Bills fans to admit, but he has played poorly as of late.
  12. If you want to criticize Spiller, at least do if after he has a poor game. He ran very well today. If you want to criticize someone today, how about Kiko - was clearly overmatched today, again.
  13. I'm not criticizing Spiller, just I think you are wrong with your reasoning on Browns early retirement. Not trying to start an argument.
  14. Imagine how good of a season both RB's would have had with better players around them, or specifically, in front of them. Very poor offensive line play overall. Glenn was the only above average lineman this year.
  15. He retired to do other things, such as bad acting. Nothing to do with health.
  16. actually Jim Brown retired at age 29
  17. We need linebackers and offensive line help. Kiko, nice rookie year but far from great, not strong enough for inside, move him outside. O-Line mostly below average. Resign Chandler, Byrd.
  18. I know it not looked kindly upon in buffalo to criticize Kiko, but based on about the last 6 weeks, he is hardly elite. He needs some work.
  19. I agree it is a popularity contest for the most part, which is why many in Buffalo think Kiko should have got in. He had a very good year for a rookie, I don't think he is pro bowl caliber. He makes a lot of tackles because all inside linebackers make a lot of tackles. If he continues to improve he could make some pro bowls. He still needs work, but he is off to a good start.
  20. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Bills draft a running back relatively high, 3rd or 4th round. You have to prepare for Jackson to lose effectiveness, Spiller will be in the last year of his contract and I can't see him getting a big deal unless he has a tremendous season next year. They could quickly be without both of these backs. It's prudent to get a good prospect this coming draft.
  21. I'm not so sure there will be many opportunities this coming year. If you look around the league I don't think there will be as many coaching changes as in the past. I would say likely changes in Tampa, Minnesota and Houston, other than that more firings would probably be a surprise.
  22. Sorry to have offended you. But very simply, we have a strong running game and a weak passing game. The weak passing game is because we lack the talent at QB and we lack the talent at WR, both positions look like they can improve but until then, running the ball is what we need to do. I don't have the stats in front of me, but I'm not so sure we have been very sucessful on deep passes. I don't agree with you that because we've converted some third and longs that our passing game is capable of more. If it was, we would have a higher success rate on 3rd down, which right now is pretty low. We almost always throw on third and long, so the proof is in the stats on third down conversions. We are not there yet. We need to avoid those situations and we do that by running the ball often , on first and second down and by doing it well.
  23. yes, Spiller is more likely to get the ball when he is in the game. That's your criticism??? We have a strong running game, we are going to run the ball. We will run the ball up the middle because Fred Jackson is really good at it.I don't get this criticism.
  24. There are basically 2 options each time you snap the ball- run or pass. I'm impressed you can predict a running play. Add to that we are a strong running team I would expect us to run more often and be predictable. If you watch professional football closely you might realize game plans are not about tricking the other team, but about executing your strengths. Since we have 2 excellent running backs and we are weak at QB and WR should we be a passing team in order to trick the other team?Your criticism makes no sense.
